- There’s a certainty on laying eyes on a big mature animal, no umm’s or ahh’s, just straight up right or wrong you want it. 8 days of chasing one buffalo bull had us willing to walking off the face of the earth to get this thing...then, when it all comes down to it, 28 yards...full draw, you’ll never guess what happened.
Weidmannsheil, great hunt, great movie and a dream of are BULL
Seriously guys another fantastic production. Absolutely loving the content.
Tommy Peloe thanks Tommy!
At least a 2.8m
Wow !!! I've just started looking into bow hunting for my son and I. You guys are absolutely amazing , can't wait to get started now .
Suspense and drama! Wow, absolutely Awsome, 13.05 very unhappy face, that feeling of being Busted...
Jaz Muzz thanks mate, yeah he played it hard! Thanks for the comment
What a brilliant footage 💥💥💥
Thanks for bringing those magic moments to the screen.
Our Oz boys strike again & make us proud to be fellow hunters! Ignore the well meant (well mostly), comments about wasting meat. We both know the difference between overseas game laws and the reasons behind each country's individual rules. I used to wonder why there were recipes for bear claw in American game meat cook books. Anyway we know old buff is not as nice as Koala or Bilby! Seriously - well done AS ALWAYS on the cinematography & post production from a retired pro in that field. Outstanding lensmanship & eye for details... LOVED the shot of the quiver shadow on the bull ants nest. That just didn't happen. It took vision & direction to set it up. World class yet again. Well done. Now... about that U-Haul meat chiller.....
WJP004 you never disappoint with the comments mate, thanks again for noticing what most people don’t, From a retired cinematographer this means a lot to us as As you know how hard it is to get shots on the fly while out hunting. thanks again for your kind words!
Holy Mother Theresa guys - the B roll on this thing is way off the scale!! Man alive - this has to be one of - if not THE - best hunting production I have ever seen. Way, way enjoyable to watch!!
Philip Sutton thanks so much man, we appreciate comment like this! Thanks again for the comment
Your vids feel like being out bowhunting... actually everytime I watch your content it’s like escaping the all day routine and diving into the thing I love most! Thanks for that guys! Keep the content coming 🐃🏹! Congrats on that Buffalo btw, 110“?
Uli Neurauter thanks for the kind words! We are so glad to here that, it’s exactly why we do it, thanks again for the comment! Na he was just under 106 apparently, we don’t really care about that but it’s ok sometimes to get a gauge on judging other buff
Just great ! I have been watching your videos for a while and your bow hunting ethics, patience and quality of work is just excellent. Example to follow compared to most things we see on internet. Keep up the good job. Greating from Mauritius !
You guys do a brilliant job of capturing the hunt and doing the animal justice. Congratulations on another great bull.
Dennis Wells thanks Dennis, doing the animal justice is the least we can do
Subscribed, LOVE IT. Keep it up.
I've saved this to watch later but it gets a mandatory "thumbs up" from me because I just love the content and production quality. Thanks again boys............

And you did it being a lefty!!! ( me too). What an awesome hunt. Beautiful country. Sad you smacked the camera. What a magnificent animal! While I have trouble hearing your words a lot ( it's the accent there) I can usually understand after rerunning the vid. Ha ha!- I live in Texas and I guarantee you that we don't have any accents here, lol lol! Make some vids somewhere killing monster hogs.
You guys need to expand, huge potential, 10/10 well done!
Chris thanks brother, if you have any ideas let us know!
@@bowhuntdownunder314 more content, international hunts, merchandise, website, apparel etc

Anyways keep it up!
Chris yeah we have a elk hunt we released a few months ago, also have some good hunts lined up for this year, year we will post more content regularly, more gear and clips to promote the upcoming film
Are you serious?? That was nuts. Once again you have provided us with amazing footage, capturing the moment and a tree falls on you as your executing the shot..WOW! Joel Turner would be proud..haha
same thing I thought! Joel Turner type concentration

alistair leserve thanks mate! Na we don’t really have one coming up but would
Love to do one!
Holy! I thought the camera man tripped over or something. What luck. Amazing videos guys
thanks
The last video that you posted, did the arrow go straight through the buffalo? It was an amazing shot.
Iam really impressed off this video, everything around the filming, quality and the hunt is just impressing.
Great work 👍🏻
Thanks mate, we love seeing messages like this one, we glad you liked it, thanks for your comment
Are you guys able to harvest all the meat off those buffalo? I never see any footage of anyone packing out the meat from any Cape buffalo hunting videos I have ever seen
Would like to see a catch clean and cook👍🏾
We don’t have the facilities to accommodate a 400kg of meat, we are about 300km away from any power source big enough for a cool room, we took the back straps off them both and put in the cooler, we haven’t got enough room for a few big coolers so rest of the meat goes to the earth
Bowhunt Downunder A generator and a freezer would fix that. The “Born and Raised” guys have done this on an entire bull elk. Might need a little bit bigger freezer and a truck big enough to handle all that. I understand that would be tough way out in the backcountry but the reward would be huge if you could pull it off
hushlife777 the born and raised have to take it out by law, we have enough issues with the logistics of getting all our gear out here let along a bit freezer we have to tow out here, a big bull elk is a quarter the size of one of these buffalo, and an elk or much tastier than a big old tough buffalo, I appreciate the thought but these aren’t good eating in any case, deer and elk on the other hand 🤤
Hey guys good hunting. Great bit of country. Filming and editing was A1. Its December right? 40 + degrees in the shade in the tropics. Imagine towing a chiller trailer along muddy tracks for hundreds of kms empty, let alone towing it back out with 500 kgs of dog meat or even just getting along the Arnhem land highway during the wet with a trailer could be hairy. Ive been there and done it in November, 50 degrees in the shade. Unless you've lived it, you would'nt get it. Gotta love the Top End thanks for taking us there.
Hey mate, can I ask what camera/video cameras you guys use?
How long did it take you to pack all that meat out back to base camp?
EPIC..! What are the chances of that..! And to drop him like that..
very slick edit guys..! Good stuff..!
Douglas Greaves cheer bud, I know it was crazy!
Really enjoy all you videos. Just curious of the specs on your gear, It's a lot of animal to get inside the vitals. Draw weight, length arrow & weight? Oz cut heads?
Cody Smith draw weight was 80lb Hoyt, arrows were gold tip peirce platinum 240 spine, ozcut 150g two blade elite 👍🏻
Hey guys, new to bow hunting and just want an idea for future reference. What gear would you run for buffalo and bigger game? (Lbs, broadheads, broadhead weight, etc)
We run a pretty solid arrow set up for just about everything we hunt to help ensure good peno for worse case scenario.
For big solid animals like Buff and mature boars, for constant results your arrow needs to be stiff spined so it doesn't flex to much and loose energy and direction when contacting something solid and hard, your broad heads should be cut on contact as they use less energy to penetrate thick hide and made of solid construction preferably one piece less chance of parts failing and falling apart.
Poundage wise for solid big game shoot the highest poundage you can draw comfortably and shoot accurately.
Over all if your broadhead arrow combo comes in around 8 to 10 grns per pound you draw, with around 15% FOC with a strong insert/outsert and sharp cut on contact broadhead up front on a stiff spined shaft and they fly really well and accurately out of your bow you are giving yourself a pretty good chance of getting the job done. Bare in mind you should still have to wait for right angle and pick you shot for consistent results, never think on big game that you can take them on at any angle even with this set up.
.
Please give us the details of your arrow setup. Weight, broadheads
Gold Tip Pierce 250 with a 150grn Oz Cut broadhead up front
It's a shame access to hunting the best areas of Australia are reserved for the well connected few and the rich who own massive properties or will pay 6k or more to hunt for a week.
Makes me sick.
pagingdrzoidbergable then save your money and do it like I did mate, it’s been a long time coming for me
6k, I wish. I'll book that now take my money. Lol. I just came back from the SCI show in reno. Looked at multiple Australian outfitters. Try over 10k and avg 14/15k depending on days. I'm saving my dollars 2021 or 2022. Then I still have to book flights, loging, transportation of the trophy.
BHDU, looks like you guys are using Buff outfitters? Could you recommend them to me or a different guide or company?
@@bowhuntdownunder314 I've been given permission to hunt near ramo in arnhem land. Didn't spend a cent to hunt buff bulls and pigs so maybe I'm spoiled. I actually wish the fees weren't as extravagant for other people's sake not mine. I know it was aboriginal land but You would think a more affordable permit scheme would benefit communities than some of the shit outfits taking up to 10k to shoot a buffalo. You'd still get money but you'd have a wider market for the regular income earners who aren't on 6 figures.
@@brandonbeers7923 it was 6k when I bothered looking 10 years ago. I hunted for free any way. It would be nice if we didn't gouge hunters so badly.
@@pagingdrzoidbergable well if you take me with you and we take a Buff I'll give you 6k :)
Great hunt guys, 8 days on the trail a lot of hunters could learn something about that persistence. Gee he dropped quick! 110 score?
Matt Merrick Videography yeah he didn’t go far, Im not quite sure what he scored man
Epic footage..! What arrow set up you running bro..?
Gold Tip Pierce 250 with a 150grn Oz Cut broadhead up front
Bowhunt Downunder I just got the 250 spine Day 6 with 150 grain Ozcut elite 3 blade fixed with 100 grain inserts.. death dart..!
Just need to get up there and one day..!
Great video, but carrying that camera gear around to get the shot on film only to have a tree fall at the last minute would have stung a little but catching all the chaos that unfolded made for one of the best hunting vids I've seen.
Tony Allen thanks tony, yes your right, it stakes it’s toll but every now and then something awesome happens like you just witnessed, it doesn’t happen often it when it does it’s incredible
Are they not good eating? Why do you only take the head?
TheSecretsquirrel222 we took the back straps off it mate, we don’t have the facilities to accommodate a full buffalo, a younger one we would take but something this big needs a full cool room, and we don’t have that being 300km away from any small town
What pack do you use?
Sorry for late reply
We use a variety of Kifaru packs
Pretty sure Jerry ran the Muskeg 5500
I want to do this!
ARIZONA TROPHY OUTFITTERS you need to, it was an awesome hunt!
i do not believe you shot
what sort of cameras were being used?
Eagle Boi ozzie Sony a7sii man
@@bowhuntdownunder314 thanks mate ✌
All that filming, and you missed the actual launch of the arrow......
Morten Rasmussen well we can’t help a branch falling on us can we?
What a shit outcome, Regret watching it now.
Shooting a back tension release, cameraman screwed up not giving the shooter room to pull thru the shot.
