My inquisitor who spent ten long years looking for her lover so that they could finally be reunited only to see that some random dude sent his egg looking ass back to the fade permanently because he really hated him. 🗿🗿🗿🗿
I love Solas, but he pissed me off. Chose those two endings just to see them, then went back to redeem him. But here's the thing: 1) Killed Varric, whom Rook stuck with for a better part of a year. 2) Tied us to him with blood magic, and made us see Varric who was actually never there. 3) We started to trust him, until we get back stabbed by him. 4) We're stuck in the Fade for weeks, despite being a couple minutes to us. 5) We find a way out, he's surprised when a pissed off Rook appears. 6) Goes to betray us YET AGAIN by not wanting to save the world by closing the Fade tears.
This is the best ending for Rook. Solas do accept defeat by rook. He defeats Solas in his own area, after he was so confident that he outsmarted everyone. That is why at the end Solas acknoledges Rook. The Ending where you save Solas the main focus is on the Inquisition (Inquisitor, Morrigan, Mythal). In the Ending where you fight Solas the main focus is on your companion. In the Ending where you Trick Solas you see the truth greatness of Rook.
Rook getting the Inquisitor, Morrigan, and more importantly Mythal to all be there in that moment be is a Master's stroke of perfection. Solas is completely caught off guard, unprepared for what was about to happen. He had no more tricks up his sleeve. Rook takes it to a level not even Solas could have anticipated. Shaking him to his core. Rook a Mortal who was able to win of Mythal. The one person he held. All his the cards laid bare before all to see. A Master stroke.
@@AeschylusShepherdI disagree. The ending you mentioned was super cool but it did not highlight Rook. He was like a background character in the shadow of the characters that you listed. In the trick ending however rook becomes his own legend.
I would have enjoyed this ending a lot more if it weren't for that dagger replica. Not because I doubted that Solas would fall for such a simple trick - it's well-established that his low opinion of mortals makes him prone to stupid oversights - but because it felt unearned. The replica just sort of falls into our lap out of nowhere at the 11th hour, with some retroactive explanation that the party has actually been working on it the whole time. It isn't something we had any part in as the player. It would have been so much better if creating the dagger replica had been an optional side-quest chain, like creating the rune to destroy Samson's armor in Inquisition.
"You think yourself capable of judging me?! I have faced things you could not possibly comprehend. You are a mortal. A Mortal! And I am..."
_(Chuckles bitterly)_
"Im a fool, that finally find his match!"
*Vivienne greatly approves*
Everyone Except Cole Greatly Approves
this line was such an insult to inquisition solas. He was the exact opposite personality this quote details...
A satisfying ending especially when he breaks down at the end "i am a fool , a fool that finally met his match"

Hah. You don't know what prideful people do when they think they are close to their victory.
That would have been a cool idea.
