Thanks for this video. Two things if you don't mind. (1) Can you make a video to go through all the dry cycle icons - even the book doesnt tell you what they are and mine has loads. (2) My previous separate wash dryer (separates) took 40 mins wash, 1h to dry. This LG combo of mine takes around 5h to dry and I am worried about the electricity bill because the previous was 1h40. And the clothes come out super hot, almost burnt in smell. And the load is always less than 8kg (around 5kg to be honest). Any ideas? Rang LG - they say its normal for the first few cycles. Now had it 6m and still doing the same. I'm thinking of getting a separate outside vent dryer to save the electricity. I bet this combo eats a heck of a lot. Thoughts?
hey there - I had intended to do a video as you described but I've recently sold the machine due to a house move (new place has a machine so had to go). In terms of speeding things up, you can do the quick wash and dry only, but I think that would still come in at around 2h30m/3h. You mention the 5kg load - that is the maximum for a dry cycle on an 8kg/5kg machine, so anything over that would cause issues. If it is still smelling burnt after multiple cycles, I am not sure what to suggest from there, sorry - it's likely dust inside the machine from the factory but it should burn off after a few cycles. As for consumption, it was the only combo I've had so nothing to compare to but yes, like all tumble dryers, it is likely high consumption. Hope that helps in some way, although not really the answers you were looking for. All the best, Steve.
No where near as good as a normal standalone dryer. 1. A stand alone dryer (esp with a vent tube going outside the house e.g through a window) is a 5 times quicker. In my normal vented cheap dryer - perfect - I could stop when I wanted to stop 3. The LG dryer - at the end of the drying cycle - clothes are extre3mely hot to touch and the barrel can even burn your skin! So be careful. My cheapo dryer - no problem in handling clothes or touching the drum So do I regret this dryer - yes yes yes. It is a good washing machine. It is a crap dryer. How do I use it? If I dry completely with this LG machine, they smell burnt and I feel is damaging the fibres of the fabric. I hope that helps. Buy it for the washing machine, not the dryer. I'm planning to get a new cheap dryer (vented one witha tube going to the outside through a window in my case). And only use LG dryer when desperate. Hello, thx for your Video it's really helpfull. I have one question, i saw the iron sign before... if you are click on dry and setup the ironing as well before it starts... it is really direct in the programm in the end ironing? And if you tried this maybe before, does it comes nice without crumpled? THX for a short answer. Kindly Mike
Did you figure this out? I’m considering moving into an apartment and they don’t have me standalone washers and dryers and have this 2-in-1 instead. I was wondering if it really does thoroughly and wrinkle free like a standard dryer?
Hi Mike - I had to sell this unit a few months ago as part of a house move and I did not fully test the ironing options, I'm sorry. Have you been able to go into it in more detail? Hope all is going well with it 👍
Could u plz explain what the manual "dry only" option do? I had tried this option when I brought the machine at my home few months back and the result were terrible, the machine get too hot was likely to burnt in sometime and I just switched off the power and it took almost 14hours to cool down the machine. And from that time I keep regretting why I took this washer and dryer combo rather buying a only washer that would safe at least 25% of my budget.
Has it ever worked? If not, it took me a while to get used to it - it's not like a smartphone or tablet display, instead you just almost brush your finger over it. Otherwise, it's not on the child lock, is it? Good luck!
Omg thank you! I’ve had this washer for over a year 😂 i usually don’t use the dryer function cause i put everything on a rack but for a fluffy blanket i wanted it dried. AND I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THE SCREEN WAS TOUCH OMG
Am I the only person who is astonished that there isn't just a "dry" button or knob position? And that light showing the knob's position is OBVIOUSLY going to confuse people. I mean, not having a clear dry function is like having a car's gearshift that doesn't shift into reverse unless you lift up on the shift. Who engineered this crap? Also... I'm not certain, but I'm very convinced that there's no way to use the application to start a dry cycle. How is this not AT LEAST the 2nd most important function of a washer/dryer? Thanks for the video. You're a lifesaver
You can just choose the Wash and Dry option with the wheel/dial on the front. Have a look at my video here from 3m00s for a demo - ruclips.net/video/R-uHV5tBUKs/видео.htmlsi=X087PYru5lJMSwGj&t=184
For such a seemingly advanced machine , you’d think they’d make the the dryer setting to be self explanatory enough that we would not need to come here to watch a video for how it do it . Plus this crazy thing takes 3 hours alone to wash a tiny load of laundry. One sure as hell better not need any of the clothes that are in there that day … cause between wash and then dry cycle , your looking at 5+ hours from start to finish . 🤦♂️
That's probably first time in my life, when i needed a video to explain me how to use home appliance.

Don’t think I will buy a different brand again now this is my 2nd LG in 22 years they go forever, if it doesn’t you’re just unlucky.
Thank you so much! I was washing for the whole day and clothes are still dripping. So frustrating! You are amazing for doing this video. Was there a spin only too
Glad to hear that. I've just made this video for you on how to spin only: ruclips.net/video/RA0VY0myFWg/видео.html&ab_channel=ProductReviewswithSteve Enjoy!
Man…thank you. I just wanted the thing to dry, lol
glad it worked for you👍
We are in France using this damn machine. Neither of us read French. After going through two wash cycles trying to figure out how to dry we found your vid and solved the problem! Thank you for this!!!
glad to hear it helped, many others have had similar problems! 😊
Exactly the same scenario! 2 wash cycles, in France. Manual in French. Thanks for the rescue!!
@@triumphgirlnco I guess that makes us the third group! So frustrating! Thanks, home helper.
Any idea how to select the drying temperature ?
I don't think you can change the drying temperature, just the time by using this dry only option
Works with the French version, so thanks!!
je vous en prie 👍
Very usefull. Thank you very much. Couldn’t figure out how to use dry program only.
saved my life, just washed my stuff twice thinking it was drying only xD
I am unable to open the door when it is in dry cycle. Does anyone know how to do that?
You can just hit the start button twice, at least on mine.
now that I didn't know, nice tip! I've since sold the machine so I can't try out but sounds useful👍🏻
why when I dry my clothes my shirt is still wet but at the same time hot
Are you perhaps trying to wash more than the allowed weight limit of clothes? That is one possible cause - here are some tips on that: ruclips.net/video/QbB1h3ASvr8/видео.html . Or putting in many bulky items with your shirt might be another - some further tips here: ruclips.net/video/rKS4kZ3YW10/видео.html
I was wondering if it really does thoroughly and wrinkle free like a standard dryer?
it's not as good as a standard dryer, but that's price for convenience and having the 2-in-1 unit, hope the move works out for you!
Hi Mike - I had to sell this unit a few months ago as part of a house move and I did not fully test the ironing options, I'm sorry. Have you been able to go into it in more detail? Hope all is going well with it 👍
I'm in Malaysia and your video saved me
Can you explain what different drying options do?
Could u plz explain what the manual "dry only" option do? I had tried this option when I brought the machine at my home few months back and the result were terrible, the machine get too hot was likely to burnt in sometime and I just switched off the power and it took almost 14hours to cool down the machine. And from that time I keep regretting why I took this washer and dryer combo rather buying a only washer that would safe at least 25% of my budget.
You are the man!!! These washers combos are super confusing. This video helped a lot🎉🎉
Glad I could help!
What if your touch screen won’t work 😮
Has it ever worked? If not, it took me a while to get used to it - it's not like a smartphone or tablet display, instead you just almost brush your finger over it. Otherwise, it's not on the child lock, is it? Good luck!
Omg thank you! I’ve had this washer for over a year 😂 i usually don’t use the dryer function cause i put everything on a rack but for a fluffy blanket i wanted it dried. AND I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THE SCREEN WAS TOUCH OMG
Glad I could help! ps I found the touch screen a bit weird at first, too 👍🏻
Now if only any of the customer support agents or any of the manuals or internet articles could tell me how to dry only on low spin
Thank you sir
Yeah I got a hisence duel function one and the manual is very clear, but my mum has a LG which is more fancy but the manual is shite.
Do you need water for drying?
no but it needs to drain water from a previous wash before starting, as far as I know
Is the front of this stainless steel or plastic?
Am I the only person who is astonished that there isn't just a "dry" button or knob position? And that light showing the knob's position is OBVIOUSLY going to confuse people.
I mean, not having a clear dry function is like having a car's gearshift that doesn't shift into reverse unless you lift up on the shift. Who engineered this crap?
Also... I'm not certain, but I'm very convinced that there's no way to use the application to start a dry cycle. How is this not AT LEAST the 2nd most important function of a washer/dryer?
Thanks for the video. You're a lifesaver
I agree - it's really poor design on both counts. Hopefully they have learnt their lesson for future models...
Legendary, thank you so much!!! Btw what do the icons mean? You mentioned that in the video.
Just moved to Bahrain and couldn’t figure out how to dry my clothes. Been so frustrating. Thanks
Seriously who made this dryer, most complicated display ever!!
What type of drying do the symbols mean? Idk which is air dry or what material is best for what
IMO. Very poor design of UI.
I would agree, and the views on the video show it's a major problem for people.
So weird, it still adds water to “dry” in the Airbnb we are using lol! Just gonna hang fry
When i need wash & dry how to use?
You can just choose the Wash and Dry option with the wheel/dial on the front. Have a look at my video here from 3m00s for a demo - ruclips.net/video/R-uHV5tBUKs/видео.htmlsi=X087PYru5lJMSwGj&t=184
Nice.... helped in an aparthotel
glad it helped
Thank you for service to humanity 😂😂😂
😆
Thank-you for this video. Why does Lg make instructions seemingly simple, so complicated?
indeed - turn on, long press! 😊
the link in the description is not working anymore :(
Sorry - this page no longer exists
For such a seemingly advanced machine , you’d think they’d make the the dryer setting to be self explanatory enough that we would not need to come here to watch a video for how it do it . Plus this crazy thing takes 3 hours alone to wash a tiny load of laundry. One sure as hell better not need any of the clothes that are in there that day … cause between wash and then dry cycle , your looking at 5+ hours from start to finish . 🤦♂️
You're right - it is slow on that front but that's the convenience of two machines in one I suppose.
This is the lousiest washer dryer ever..always giving me headache! Will opt for separate washer & dryer next tiMe..
Yeah, it's not the best in terms of how user friendly it is. Took me a while to figure it out.
Freaking THANK YOU. I’m in Costa Rica and this was driving me CRAZY. Went through at least 6 very long wash cycles already 😂
Glad it helped! Pura vida!
Enjoyed it indeed!!! Tried to figure that out forever 🥰🙏
Very helpful..thanku
glad it was useful 👍
