I went to SAE Nashville class of 03! I remember the skills test on the analog 8 bus. I sweated my ass off worrying about that test! I actually used one of these in a commercial recording studio that I owned. It did alright.
just a point... the audio doesn't automatically go to Mix B... it has to be wired in like that or via the patch bay (depending on how the console was installed).
Ive acquired one of these but how no idea how the signal chain works on the board itself. how do i get from input to output? what do i plug cables into????
the million page textbook that explains nothing in terms beginners can understand? I just want a video that shows you and explains. so far not a single thing out there does
I agree with you. I've got a mackie 1604 & 1202, Tascam 2600, M50 & M1508 and I have trouble even with the manuals. I can solo up the levels and do all that however I have not yet found a good tutorial on how to navigate and connect the units up to get basic command of the signal buss. There is lots on the pre and post AUX sections for live but zippo on buss management and operational fundamentals.
I was able to pick up the board with very limited knowledge of any particular analogue boards, only an understanding of basic signal flow for live sound. The mackie 8bus is nothing special. If you dont like looking through the manual open it up online and use the search function, that's what I did to sort out the monitoring situation
Could anybody tell me why my out put levels are uneven on my 32 x8 and when I mix into my computer I one wave is bigger than the other . In mono they are even , do I have a problem in the mixer ?

Great rundown video showing the initial settings. We have a 24x8 but with high turnover no one really knows how to use it.
Well done… You’d be a great instructor/Professor if you ever wanted to go down that road.

I just wish you went over the patchy more in greater detail for the mackie 32/8
but it was good though
Thank you very much mate......
How Do I hook up the computer to the desk so that i can get signal from the desk into the computer/Daw?
You need a bunch of A/D converters to do this. There are a zillion options in the pro audio market for these converters.
NICE
