For your Interest, there is an insane setup available for 8 players by 2 Team Player model 1 units connected to the Genesis. The konami basketball title, Double Drible supports 8️⃣ simultaneous player by that setup. 😱

Thanks for clearing up how the switch works on the Multitap! It used to take be an extra minute or 2 trying to get EA games to work going through all the A,B etc settings. I am not a fan of the EA 4 way as when you have 4 dudes playing if someone is too boisterous with the controller it can pop out the 4 way a bit and cause a game freeze.

Another unmentioned game here is Tiny Toon Adventures: ACME All-Stars; a sports game based on the hit Warner Bros. animated series featuring the junior counterparts of the Looney Tunes. There are twelve different playable characters; Buster Bunny, Babs Bunny, Plucky Duck, Hamton J. Pig, Montana Max, Elmyra Duff, Dizzy Devil, Furrball the Cat, Shirley the Loon, Fifi La Fume, Little Beeper, and Calamity Coyote. This game is compatible with the Sega Team Player, meaning up to four players can play against each other in basketball or soccer.

thank you for this, found this video to find out what the "Extra" option was about, and didn't know there was 2 versions I picked up the version 2, also as an addition, I have the Pal version of it, the switch is Red instead of black and the cables are half the length of the NTSC version.
So weird they cut the cable length short, always annoying

Fleder I’m not 100% sure but I highly doubt it since they are mainly just pass through. I didn’t see anything specifically mentioned in my research but I don’t have a PAL MD to confirm

Not really much I can say for this other than you did good explaining it and not doing it overly long, like I would hahaha. Nice one man. Would have been nice if I ever got to play Gauntlet IV with three others, never did though.

One of the reasons I like it a lot, easily my favorite Gauntlet entry besides Dark Legacy that is.

I went on for almost ten minutes about the MODE button and didn't think I could hahaha. Not that I was trying to.
I got Micro Machines 96 with the 4player on card feature. It's really cool, but having controllers plugged to the cartridge is not the optimal solution. Tugging on the cable may even restart the game. I'm still looking for a real 4player adapter.
I got Gauntlet 4 too, btw. Mine has got the weirdest issue, though. It will always freeze after playing two player mode for a few minutes. I have never seen any other game do that, but G4 does it reliably.
R. F. R. Mine doesn’t load past the title screen now. It’s a somewhat common problem with Tengen games on the Genesis, faulty chips 😢
Micro Machines was great for that specific reason although I do know what you mean when you say you have to be careful not to move the cartridge and when playing a game like Micro Machines you do tend to move about a lot but it was still a cool feature.
A cool feature it is without a doubt :)
I noticed its much easier to crash the game from the cartridge jiggle on the model 2, while on the model 1 its much more solid!
I didnt know you could just use a multitap instead, ive got to try that sometime
Hello, I've the official Model 2 Multitap and i've a problem on my MegaDrive1 : The Extra, A B, C, D modes work, but the MULTI mode don't works :( No controllers work in Multi mode) Any idea what happen ?

Don't forget Puzzle and Action Tant-R and Puzzle and Action Ichidant-r (sadly these were sold only in Japan so you'll need a Japanese Sega Mega Drive)

I’m not sure since I don’t have one but I would assume so, it just uses normal plugs and isn’t molded like the EA one

Cool man. How about the Snes? That's my favorite consoles. Great games on both consoles and there games are full and Complete. Now a days on Switch n ps4 are Dlc and not complete and you pay double or triple.

There are some games that don’t work with it if I remember correctly. Sega retro has a good list of the full compatibility segaretro.org/4_Way_Play
