the 1st oild change on Master/leader Piaggio engine is always 600miles. After that it depends on where you are and how the bike is used. I live in a city ( Manhattan) and change mine every 2,000 miles. If you are in the suburbs where the air is not so polluted and do mostly highway miles every 3,000m miles is ok.

@bini2215 The oil only needs changed every 1,500-2,000 miles or if you travel less than that once a year.

i agree with you. you're from norway? so you have cold climate then you can buy super slick oil from 10w30 all the way to 5w30. thick oil is for hot weather. thin oil gives good economy but only use on cold climate. cheers mate :)

i use a oil extractor for my oil change, less mess and you enjoy oil change instead of loathe it :)

O have the same engine in my Malaguti Madison 3. What is the best oil?? Motul?

my dealer reckons piaggio don't specific that the oils (engine and hub) needs to be changed on the first service i.e. 1000km but that goes against everything I've thought as I thought the 1st change was the most important one. I suspect they are lying to me, what do you say?

MY mp3 500 the oil is changed after 6,000 miles.
