    The revised Perilous Wilds has a system-neutral dungeon generation as well that I've been using for solo games for weeks. It's fantastic!

    I have a lot of these resources but as I'm sure many can understand its hard to pick out the most worthwhile when starting out. I have been trying to go through all of the books and resources I have and making a list of what each resource does best so i can have a go to list when playing. Its a little overwhelming and my ADHD doesn't make it any easier! Your video has helped me get a better idea how each of these might rank for me.

      @@micah_raygun_ Hey, glad it helps! I really really enjoy your Daggerfall videos, ever since you released your first. If it helps further, Sandbox Generator is probably up there as one of my favourites currently and I just released a supplement on Itch called Solus that, while mainly for OD&D, has a streamlined, system agnostic dungeon generation system that produces similar results with d6s.

      @@Chaoclypse oh neat you know about my channel! I appreciate the support and the recommendations. I mostly play Basic Fantasy RPG as a solo game because I'm stupid and like to make things complicated, but I'll definitely check out the OD&D supplement and put it to work in my game 👍

      @@Chaoclypse To keep an element of surprise, you roll at the start of each new level to see if it's the last one or if it goes on deeper.

    • @Chaoclypse
      @Chaoclypse  Год назад +2

      @@martinouellet3540 That's a really simple and neat way of doing it! I'll actually give it a shot myself as well.
      Just off the top of my head, this probably benefits from having a "threshold", like, you have to roll at or under your current level on a die in order to end a dungeon. So, on level 4, it's way higher of a chance for the dungeon to end than on level 1. The die type can affect it too - D4 makes it end much sooner, and D10 makes for a much longer dungeon! Might be something worth trying!

    This is where Perplexing Ruins was first introduced to me. It has inspired me to generate my own generation worksheets. My hexcrawl template is largely based on Sandbox Generator by Atelier Clandestine and is perfect for Solo play and group play, alike. The Dungeon generator is proving to be more challenging to design.
