Nice set up and system. Been using indoor bins for 3+ years now and love it. Don't get as much liquid because I also put in shredded newspapers and cardboard egg cartons. Keeps the worms in the bin by reducing the humidity. Also throw in dried crushed eggshells and occasional used coffee grounds to give them grit - they reproduce better with it apparently. For my cold compost bins outside, I drop in 50 worms now and then thru late spring to early fall. In the summer and fall, I find fruit waste brings on the fruit flies inside so it goes outside. I am not sure if they survive our winters (zone 2b) but their eggs can if well insulated with leaves and compost. Should be no problem for your area Gary. Lots of lists on what not to put in for plant matter- hot peppers, citrus etc but the first year I almost lost them when I put dried black bean pods in after collecting the seeds. Worm castings are amazing for everything from seed starting, transplanting seedlings, top dressing to indoor tropical plants. Encourage everyone to give it a try.

Uncle Jim’s Red worms! That is who I was going to order from! Good deal, thank you!
Uncle Jim has a disclaimer. You are getting a mixture of different kinds of worms. Not all red worms.
Could I use worm castings on my cannabis plants even if I use a liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks? Or will it toxicate them?
So this is pH neutral and packed with great stuff. You cant over due it. I would add some to a plant or 2 and see what you notice in benefit.

I’m curious - will mosquitos breed in an open container of worm tea like that? Most of our property is shaded, poorly draining clay soil and the mosquitos are pretty bad. I’d like to try something like this, but I worry about encouraging breeding with any additional standing water/liquids. Great video!
I havent had anyting, insect or mold, growing in that and it has sat weeks. But I dont know for sure. You can buy mosquito bits from amazon. Its organic Bt and it kill mosquito larva. Just drop in a few granulars.

I gave up on my Hungry Bin … it just kept clogging and I got no liquid out at all. Have moved to a Tui Worm farm - much better.
Oh no. Cheers

Doesn’t this thing cost 300 dollars?
It does but it is good for 10 years. And what it will produce is expensive to buy too.
