@@roxaner5638 Well, yes and no. It's part of an "extinct" volcano complex, which is technically not a dormant volcano. Dormant implies it can re-waken and erupt again, while an extinct volcano can no longer erupt.
I literally live 2 hours away in Ottawa and you make me want to just come up for the day with my boyfriend 😂 I always forget how amazing Montreal is, and so pretty in fall! Great video ❤️
I’m from Northern Ontario and went to Montreal for the first time this summer for Osheaga, I’m so sad I didn’t see more of the city because it’s so beautiful!
Just discovered your channel and this video . Haven't been to Montreal in years. Hopefully , God willing , going to the city for a Canadiens game . Thanks for some of the ideas . Didn't know that Montreal had an observation wheel like the High Roller in Las Vegas . Thanks again
Loved the video!! Going to Montreal in the end of march... What is it like for tourists who don't speak french in the Montreal/Quebec region? Are people receptive if we just start speaking in english?
Most of the time in Montreal itself, people in service/sales are often perfectly fluent in both french and english. But start with a friendly "bonjour" even if that's all you've got, as it's always appreciated :)
I took a photo that looks like the one you took with dan in front of the Ferris wheel in Montreal this summer! (I think everybody does tbh, it’s suck a pretty spot 🤷♀️😂) And we went to eat a beaver tail in that same spot after 🙈🤪

My new wife and I just took our honeymoon in Montreal two weeks ago, and I’m now obsessed with the city. We did Mont Royal, Old Montreal, Notre Dame Basilica and stopped for a pastry and coffee at Tommy’s Cafe. Although its chain, we also ate breakfast three times at L’Ouefrier de la Montagne partly because of the food but mostly because the staff were wonderful to us, making our visit incredibly memorable. I can’t encourage people enough to visit Montreal - and if you’re brave, study a little French before you go! I took two years of it, not good enough to be conversant but enough to take a stab here and there AND to appreciate how romantically beautiful both Montreal and Quebec are!! Je me souviens!!

I swear, Montreal has no shop, while the week there is no club open, there is no a gd transport system, in the night, its all dark. There is only 60's, 80's building And its make the city depressed. I forgot also all these street construxtion with no end
Gole Zozol LOL are u being sarcastic? We have Ste Catherine Street (the buseist retail street in the nation), old Montreal, and one of the best clubbing scenes worldwide. Ur prob being sarcastic
Is it true that almost everyone in Montreal speaks French instead of English? Because I'm seeing a lot of English comments saying that they're from Montreal.
I just watched the Telequebec clip shared above. For those that don't speak french... It was never active (magma never erupted), thus never a volcano, dormant or not. Formed by the same process of magma trying to reach the surface, but solidified. At the most, you could say it was a failed volcano in the making, and we see it as a big hill due to erosion because the ground level was actually higher than Mont Royal long, long ago.
Alex Centomo the magma never reached the surface. It was actually far from it, but the intense temperature transformed the rock and made it more resistant so when the ice retires out, it eroded the soil but not those intrusions.
"reise" 🇳🇴😘 You, Dan and Tim seem like the best trio haha... I have wanted to go to Canada for so long so this will definitely come in handy, thank you!! 💛

When visiting Montreal you should really explore the Plateau/Mile End/Mile Ex. So many restaurants, cafes and shops! There's always something going on in the summer. Old Montreal is also really cool to explore especially in the winter time because you can skate. Summer is fun for Osheaga and Murale festival. During the winter there is Igloofest and usually vendors who sell maple syrup over ice that makes a sort of candy. Fall is the best time to see the leaves change colours and its a lil cheaper then summer usually but make sure you bring a coat and sweaters. DON'T come in spring lol all the snow melts and its the worst weather and slush piles and puddles 3 feet deep everywhere. My favourite places in Montreal (mostly downtown/plateau) are Lola Rosa (restaurant), Pikolo (coffee), Humble Lion (coffee), Cresent Street patios (Thursdays or Winnies for happy hour), Mad Hatters (pub), Suwu (brunch), Santropol (cafe), Jeanne Mance (park), MBAM (art museum), McCord Museum (art), Tommy's (coffee), LUV (restaurant), Tattoo Lounge (tattoos) and Eva Bees (clothing store and cafe).
Liked this as soon as I heard Stromae! Also, I've always wondered why the accent Québécois is so different from my French from France?? Any theories? Bisous de Seattle, WA!
Aggie2309 I’ve been told that the Québécois accent is very similar to how the people from France sounded hundreds of years ago. Supposedly when they settled in Québec we kept their accent. While in France, it has evolved 😊
Interesting!! I have yet to go to Québec and hang out with peeps over there lol! Sometimes the accent is so thick and different I can't make out full sentences but it's fun to interact with francophones all over the world!
Some other go to places are Eva B ( such a cool thrift shop) which is located on the corner of st-laurent metro. I've found so many great leather finds. - The Chinese food at Wok café is so yummy. The coolest part is they stay open past bar hours!! So if you need late night Chinese, that's your go to!!! - you can also rent bikes on the side of the sidewalks all over Montreal and take rides along the canal, which is so beautiful during summer! - ☺️ There's also no mention of museums. Most cost money to visit but if you go to the McGill university you can go see the dinosaur/mummies etc at the red path museum for free (donation). - if you're in the mood to see a play you can check out Place Des Art.
