Billions are spent on gear and military/paramilitary trainers first cops...and they're still just as incompetent at actually preventing crime and now have a heavier hand to bring down on easy targets i.e. sex workers, small-time dealers, etc. Rather, the actual issues remain systemic in nature and go far beyond law enforcement, and in the CyberPunk universe it's even less likely those needed changes will happen.
Lorewise it would be budget like you give a regular cop the stuff maxtec get you either have cops going overkill a cop not having the training to use the stuff and getting killed then having maxtec gear in the hands of gangers or the cop just selling to whomever wants it
The cop lore in Cyberpunk is pretty good and immersive but I absolutely hate the cop ai in this game. When I try to help them fight crime, they attack me. When gang members try to jump me they just walk by like nothing is happening until I start defending myself then they start to attack me for shooting my gun. -.-
If anything, one civic service that will never ever free from corruption, it will be the Police, as violent arm of the law (read: order) enforcer under state budget. Years of practicing in several jurisdiction taught me that
I found the police uniform to role play for the ncpd missions which makes it feel like V is just another corrupt cop that's more of a loose cannon bringing his own version of justice to night city

@@knightpal1545 Dredd with Cybernetics would be an absolute beast tho. Easily NC legend material. He would likely join MaxTac if he was in the 2077 universe.
The fact that they're police officers, people who are supposed to be the strongest in the community and heroes to all; and they are outgunned by almost everybody is insane
It makes sense, the government of Night City is perpetually kept on a shoe string budget so they don't get any funny ideas like actually enforcing their laws or regulations on the corporations. They don't even have the money to fund regular trash collection, there's no way in hell they'll ever be able to afford properly militarizing the NCPD.
Is the NCPD even really privatised? Privatisation implies they’re a separate entity from the NC government, but as far as I see it, they’re still directly connected to and in league with the NC government, which means they’re not privatised, they’re still a public entity. Moreover, what kind of botched privatisation is this? Ah yes, we’ll privatise it but not break it up in any way into smaller, competing entities which’d then force them to adapt into different sectors and business models as per the tried and true capitalist model, but instead have them as practically a monopoly, which means they don’t need to improve. Brilliant job there Night City
Funny thing is, I hardly ever had to deal with the NCPD (unless it was a quest about NCPD and its members) while playing the game from launch up till version 2.0 . I bet you thought that was because the police AI was lacking huh? Not quite; yeah it may have been, but that's not the reason. I actually chose to play the game as realistic as possible, so no GTA or Saints Row type BS; I did this by actively trying to NOT get NCPD's attention. This play style is now more challenging since the cops are way more competent after the release of Version 2.0, but that makes it only that much more rewarding when you can pull off crazy Merc jobs while NOT even getting a Police call about you ;-)
Great video sir thanks Wisefish you and Mrs Wisefish make a great team 😊I love your videos especially your Mass Effect and CYBERPUNK videos respect 🙏, the NCPD sounds like the GARDA here in ireland 🇮🇪 😅😊

It also would have been nice to give a breakdown of the different divisions by % and turnover rate vs hire rate. I really liked this, but you could have done better with your info.
The NCPD are probably the most unique "gang" in Night City, because unlike every other street gang, they've managed to operate exactly like one while being considered the "good guys" and seen as the official peacekeepers of NC.
That actually makes sense as to why the ncpd is so weak in the game. To the point to where I can walk up to heavily armed cops steal their car and drive off without worrying about consequences
You used "rampant" twice in less than 5 seconds. Your rampant use of the word rampant could be mitigated with a dedicated script or thesaurus. Anyway, love your videos. Truly makes me enjoy the game more. PS: At 3:43 you overuse the word "standard". Something to look into.
I'm glad to see that even in the future the police will remain the same as they are today. Not corrupt, servants of the rich few and companies and above all always have their finger on the gun.

As a Citizen of the United States, you could have told me that this is about our real life police and I would have believed you.
Yeah, blm defunded allot of law inforcement around the contry. It backfired oviously.
The cop lore in Cyberpunk is pretty good and immersive but I absolutely hate the cop ai in this game. When I try to help them fight crime, they attack me. When gang members try to jump me they just walk by like nothing is happening until I start defending myself then they start to attack me for shooting my gun. -.-
very accurate!
'Totally Not Corrupt'... ...seems legit.
Yep…totally not corrupt
@@WiseFish Defo, serving their city with pride and professionalism. Also NO WITNESSES.
Based same here
Thats a sub, great video man
Who can clean up Night City faster? Robocop or Judge Dread?😂
Neither. They'd get torn apart faster than David when he activates his sandevistan.
@@cynicalmemester1694 agreed, despite loving both of em they'd get absolutely destroyed. WHAT THEY NEED TO DO IS BORG V UP AND JUST LET THEM DEAL WITH IT!
@@knightpal1545 Dredd with Cybernetics would be an absolute beast tho. Easily NC legend material. He would likely join MaxTac if he was in the 2077 universe.
@@cynicalmemester1694 maybe
@@cynicalmemester1694He would be the head officer in charge of the entire department of maxtac
The fact that they're police officers, people who are supposed to be the strongest in the community and heroes to all; and they are outgunned by almost everybody is insane
And it’s even more terrifying that they’re more well armed than modern militaries.
It shows how overpowered crime is in cyberpunk 2077
It makes sense, the government of Night City is perpetually kept on a shoe string budget so they don't get any funny ideas like actually enforcing their laws or regulations on the corporations. They don't even have the money to fund regular trash collection, there's no way in hell they'll ever be able to afford properly militarizing the NCPD.
My first thing to after budget cuts are cut off specialisations. Increase more general police and patrols
2:00 tgabk you for pushing useless crap on us. Appreciate it 🤝🏻
0:46 thought that was Elon for a second
Just made my Monday choom!
If the pay wasnt so shit I'd work for them. Seems like a cool job. As long as im not being shot at
you doing good job keep it up !
You know, Maybe the AIs from the other side of the blackwall aren't so bad after all.
Awesome content!!!!!
Wow! That was a great story!
Great vid
maybe the NPCD would have higher arrest rates if they tried arresting me instead of instantly shooting me on sight for bumping into someone 😭
The judges form Judge dread would fit in nc well
0:43 You have perfectly described the Miniaplolise PD
I kept waiting for you to tell us how many employees NCPD had and how many were *sworn officers* as opposed to *NON sworn employees*.
Reducing the cops and the ones left are set to focus on writing tickets instead of actual crime? 💀💀💀💀
The badlands aren’t part of night city so no the ncpd wouldn’t be out there lol.
The biggest gang in the city, NCPD.
Basically another gang 🚨.
Yo just wanna ask if you could maybe e do a lore video on V.
Why would you want a lore video on yourself? All of us are V. We’ve experienced our stories first hand via the choices we made.
Well, this is too real nowadays
I am the law!
Can you do zetatech?
That actually makes sense as to why the ncpd is so weak in the game. To the point to where I can walk up to heavily armed cops steal their car and drive off without worrying about consequences
It's the libertarian cop copypasta as an organization.
The biggest gang in night city
Ah yes the vice dept. The most useless dept in the NCPD
Private prisons are already a thing :/
You used "rampant" twice in less than 5 seconds.
Your rampant use of the word rampant could be mitigated with a dedicated script or thesaurus.
Anyway, love your videos. Truly makes me enjoy the game more.
PS: At 3:43 you overuse the word "standard". Something to look into.
What flavor of autism is this
...so uvalde cops if they had a spine albeit for selfish reasons?
Ncpd reminds me of Nypd or Lapd
Im goad im not the only one
you missed spelled LAPD.
Basically trying to be a Cop in a democratic controlled city 😅
Suicide is a career choice?
I'm glad to see that even in the future the police will remain the same as they are today. Not corrupt, servants of the rich few and companies and above all always have their finger on the gun.
So... they are cops
