My 1023E did this. Took it 3 years before the original tore. Replaced it and the replacement lasted about a year. I've ordered the boot you've got. I've checked to see what the original boot is hitting to tear it and I've found nothing that it's hitting. I'll see what this solution does but I don't think it'll take care of this problem.
I see where it's hitting. Replaced the boot and installed the stick on weight. I don't think this will last as when the wheel is turned the boot wants to turn. Took it back apart and greased the bottom of the boot which stopped that.
There never was a cotter pin, and from what I've read none of them have a cotter pin. Not sure why, but that seems to be the case. No cotter pin on Deere's site either.
Guess I need to check mine out now. Maybe you slang too much slag. 😁

It contacts when you fully turn to the left.
@@BigDaddyAddyMS , I tried that but nothing made contact with the boot. I'll take a closer look at it today as I must be missing something.

That solution didn't last long. I hope yours did.
@steveashcraft718 it’s been about 80 hours and so far so good.
How is it holding up?
It hasn’t turn yet. Almost 200 hours now.
What was the part you ordered?
I didn’t order anything. I took it to the dealer and they did it. But the part numbers are in the video.
John Deere dealer ordered M138876 for me. Said this is what I need and they also printed off the instructions for installing it.
Dealer forgot to put the cotter pin in
