    Thank you for this type of content. At 39 years old, I'm fixing to dive headfirst into MTB. I'm excited and nervous but your videos on the GT Agressor Pro and the Ozark Trail Ridge gave me some confidence that I can go out and buy a budget bike and gradually upgrade over time on a budget and get some performance similar to the higher end bikes. I'm excited to begin my journey and your channel helps out a lot.

    I liked that GIUNTA Dude's GT, why, cause I do allot of road, sidewalks, sand and grass, also allot of cutting throughs, I do everything on my bike (one of them) that normal folks do in the cars, meaning shopping, bank, Walmart, corner store trips, library, around the lake and park riding, That's that Dude's bike... Although his looks much better than mine though,
    Mine bike in spewing about is a 2015 probably older but I bought new, KHS 21" frame 26" wheels and the other upgrades are paddles, raceface bars 30mm, and it came with lockout forks, some Suntour variant, so id like a bike like that GT build to draft from !😉

    My wife and I recently purchased new model GT Aggressor Pros from Dicks, for exercise purposes. She got a medium and I got a large. She is all about urban asphalt trail riding. I used to ride BMX bikes when I was younger and was looking to do some dirt trail riding with some jumps here and there (nothing major as I'm about to be 43 and just getting back into it) along with riding with my wife. I was SUPER disappointed with it as the forks pretty much were useless for any kind of jumping. I had a GT Pro Series 24" back in the day and it was a very solid and capable bike. I know it's a different style of bike, but c'mon... GT right?! Anyway, after switching to hydraulic brakes, a Suntour Epixon 120mm fork, Continental Crossking tires 2.2 front and 2.3 rear, new aluminum wheels, 1x8 Bolany crankset conversion, Deckas 32t oval chainring, aluminum chain guide, Rock Bros lightweight nylon flat pedals, 60mm 7 degree stem, 720mm Wake handlebars, new grips, and a new saddle... It's a completely different bike!! Just need to add a dropper post. So thankful for finding your channel. The father-son duo is awesome!! Thanks for what you do, especially with the Aggressor Pro!!

    I have an Aggressor Comp 29, I love it, was thinking of switching to a tougher trail bike in the next year, not sure. I'm a little fearful the bike wouldnt handle drops and whatnot, I'm used to my park BMX bike thats around 3 times the price, grew up on BMX, non racing. Other than getting flats due to the bike still being on stock tires with tubes, its held up well for a year on the British Columbia trails, I know I could do drops and jumps but I dont want my bike to break so not sure if I should sell and change to a higher end bike. I'm mostly worried about frame stability, as its a Xcountry bike, not a true "trail" bike. Eyeing up the Marin San Quentin, but not sure, I really wish more affordable hardtails were Chromoly like a park bmx, nice and strong, I dont care about weight whatsoever, just strength.

    Great videos! I had a question on the fork I recently upgraded forks to a 120mm and now I can’t flat foot the bike. Before I had 2 inches of room but can the fork change that much of geometry?

    • @alex_mcclay
      @alex_mcclay Год назад

      Yes it can, you're adding extra height at the front which also raises the bottom bracket height. A lot of people talk as if by going from a 100mm fork to 120mm you'll be raising the front end by exactly 20mm, but depending on which make/model forks you were switching out it could be more than that. If you check the crown to axle measurement on both forks you'll see what the real difference is.
