  • What is biblical counseling? Is it even mentioned in the Bible? Why seek biblical counseling? Are there benefits and advantages over other counseling? What is its role in the life of a believer or even an unbeliever?
In this episode of the Straight Truth Podcast, Dr. Richard Caldwell and special guest Dr. Nicolas Ellen talk to us about biblical counseling and its purpose and goal. They help us see that, while biblical counseling has its place, it is not sufficient by itself. They guide us to look to the local body of Christ as a ministry with responsibilities and insight that outside counseling lacks. The church’s role involves shepherding people and caring for their souls, not only through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, but also through the giving of wise, loving counsel from the Bible.
What if my pastor or church doesn’t offer counseling? Can I seek a counseling ministry outside my church? Do I need to seek out a “Certified Biblical Counselor”? These questions and more are addressed in this episode of the Straight Truth Podcast, as Dr. Richard Caldwell and Dr. Nicolas Ellen take us to God’s Word.

All counselors should be Bible based!

I think , we should use the Bible to be applicable for ourselves without the injury and failure direction of the church. Going to church is only suppose to be a temporary situation.

Absolutely not, If you are a true Christian, and the Holy Spirit resides, you will feel the constant promptings to be involved with the Church. Read the Word, it explains the purpose and importance of the Church. Most of modern Christianity is week, because of the lack of involvement in the Church. Hope this helps.
