I miss the golden age of mechs. Good review!
Cool, nice to see more people getting into Trails games, my only complain is that a important plot point is hidden behind New Game plus with the black records (if you didnt see yet, you can find easily on youtube), other than that is a great game
They also assume you know they went to Ymir for a fun break in Cold Steel I. We never experience that in the English localization.
The games are already very long, dont know if adding more would help the game, at least you can read/listen both Ymir vacation and and the Alster one as Drama CDs, they drag a little for me, but mostly because I'm not used to the format
While my favorite cold steel is 3, you could really play 1 and 2 as their own separate arc and game like xenogears
I'm excited to check out Cold Steel III! Someday soon!
@@DrLevelUp I look forward to it, the character growth of Rean is very facinating after cs2, I think it's fair to think of 1 and 2, then 3 and 4 as two mini arcs combined into one lol
There is something I want you to be made aware of. There are story elements in CS2 that is locked behind a New Game+ that you are expected to know in CS3. I don't know why they did that, but they did.
So I suggest looking this up, lest you want to play through CS2 again.
I did look it up. Had several people telling me about it. Thanks for looking out for me!
Personally, this is probably my least favorite game of the Cold Steel arc. it's just too slow and repetitive in my opinion.
I found it faster than 1, but I definitely agree with the repetition. They're all repetitive for sure. Imagine if this game had the pacing of Chrono Trigger with all the incredible world-building! I just didn't mind the repetition because you could move around the map so quickly. I beat this game pretty quickly honestly.
@@DrLevelUp the quick travel did make it easy to get around !! the ending sequence though of this game was something else!
