Came from your first video to see how you’re doing now. Immediately I could see how much your light has came back. Today is day 2 of my journey to get my life back can’t wait til I can get back to who I was
You're an amazing person for sharing such a raw & personal journey. Ignore people who judge or hate, they have their own issues to figure out. Your channel is amazing & thank you for sharing your story. It makes a difference to us!😍😍
You addressed a very important point about perspective of comparing money spent and lost on gambling . An addiction on any level is equally devastating ❤
Always remember, what other people think of us is not our business. Honestly when they comment negative things it makes them look like a insecure ass😊 congratulations 🎉🎉🎉
Hi there, hope you see this. Thanks so much for being so vulnerable for us - for people like me. I don't have any close friends or family, so I just appreciate you putting yourself out there b/c it tells people like me that we're not alone. So thanks.. hope all is well. P.S.: if people want to be horrible to you, just know that you are making a huge difference in peoples' lives, and those are the ones who will continue to watch. 💪
You’re too beautiful to be sad darling I hope you’re safe🤙this is only words on this comment, probably won’t mean much to you but I wish you all the best really, no matter how dark it gets, don’t forget you’re not alone,be happy and choose life ✌️
Missing your videos here but totally understand we are so much more than just RUclips . We all have our offline lifes as well ❤. All that being said i miss your beautiful smile ❤
Hey Jackie, where there has been developmental trauma (cptsd), the experiential default is lived patterns of dysfunction. The complex trauma is that our sense of self is impaired by a negatively- skewed identity formation that is unconsciously operative. The compulsion is driven by the void generated by unprocessed and unhealed psychological and emotional material. As psychologist Carl Jung says, "Until you make the unconscious, conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate." Gambling, as with all other addictions, is a triangulation. The triangulation results in a crisis that is calling us to the work of "getting down to," as AA terms it, the "causes and conditions" of the crisis of origin, which, in the case of complex trauma, is the negatively- skewed identity formation that we continue to experience in the way you are describing here: Why would I do the thing to myself that I hate over and over again?! For everyone the answer is going to be a little different, but the common theme is the fear-based, shame-based, and trauma-based sense of self that I am unconsciously oriented to. In my vulnerabilities, I am susceptible to a lived pattern of dysfunction that other people, who have not experienced developmental trauma, do not find themselves in. Therefore, the hybrid solution entails threefold development: spiritual, therapeutic, and relational. Spiritual = getting down to the existential truth of our situation and our traumatized condition as relational beings created for meaningful connection. Therapeutic = working through the unhealed emotional and unprocessed psychological material to fulfill who and how we were created to be. Relational = enjoying (in the larger sense of the word) genuinely connected, compassionate, and non-judgmental interactions with others who have suffered what we are suffering, or at least who can understand that there is more to us than our precipitating traumas and our compensatory addictions. Because the problem is internal, there's nothing we can ingest that will significantly change the underlying causes and conditions of our traumas or addictions, and there is no quick fix because the way up and out is developmental. By spiritually, therapeutically, and relationally working through whatever compromised, depleted, demoralized, dissociated, and/or disintegrated position we are in now, we gradually begin to enjoy a sense of internal integration and relational integrity. The foundational premise of the 12-step program, Adult Children of Alcoholics and Other Family Dysfunction, is that We do not believe our brains are missing any elements. We start with the premise that we are whole and that we had a normal reaction to an abnormal situation of being raised in a dysfunctional home. Our normal reaction to protect ourselves has created survival traits, compulsions, and self-harming behaviors, which respond to the ACA steps and spiritual remedies. We are not minimizing the severity of our situation as adult children. The disease of family dysfunction manifests itself in dependency, addiction, and dissociative personalities. The disease can kill. Everyday, adult children commit suicide, die in addiction, or die one day at a time in silent isolation, thinking they are hopeless. In ACA, we believe we were born whole and became fragmented in body, mind, and spirit through abandonment and shame. We need help finding a way to return to our miracle state. (ACA Workbook 60) The path up and out of, what AA terms, "the bondage of self" is the spiritual, therapeutic, and relational deconstruction of the negatively- skewed identity formations that keep us stuck in the self-harming patterns of all kinds of addiction, including codependency. The result of this hybrid work of nurturing and being nurtured is a "sense of wholeness [and connection] we never knew was possible" (ACA Workbook vi). In short, sustainable recovery is contingent upon developmental healing.
Congratulations on 1k subs! I hope you don’t take down your RUclips but don’t feel like you have to either. I think people just try to tear other down to make themselves feel better or they are just trying to get a reaction. As long as opening up and making these videos is a net positive for you I hope that you keep posting and giving updates. Good luck this weekend on not gambling!
Haven't seen a video from you in a while Jackie. Hope you are doing well. Your one video said you hoped a psychotherapist was watching your videos and could help. That caught my attention because I am a psychotherapist. Not sure if you are still checking the channel, but feel free to reach out to me. Tried to find you on IG but couldn't. Again, hope all is well. You got this!
Jackie, I watched a couple of your videos a couple days ago, but did not subscribe at that time. I just subscribed. I think you should add something to your channel name to get more viewers, as well as to impact more Gamblers. When I searched Jackie, your videos did not come up. Jackie Chan, Jackie Kennedy, etc.! Problem Gamblers need better access to your content. As to the naysayers, to heck with them! I hope you are doing well, as it has been 2 Months since your last video. I will pray for you!
Thank you for doing what you do…..please don’t stop, we are all on this journey together. Keep going.
I appreciate that, and yes we are in it together!
