I know, right!? Being single or having a partner who isn't into tiny, DIY, buses, or whatever makes this pretty impossible.
You can't. I can't, but I'm not complaining. If I want something like this I would have to work hard and save enough money to pay someone to do this for me. If I can't, then I can't. America is about working hard toward a goal, not whining about what others have.
I was thinking the same thing while watching a few shows in a row. Each couple had a dad who helped out. Blessed.
@@ElizaDolittle Too bad you can't save up to buy a sense of humor, lol. It's called a joke to those of us who have one (the original comment that is). It's funny how your interpretation or reaction to Stacy's comment is to make enough money to pay someone else to do it for you. How Freudian, lol. Why can't she do it exactly... or you for that matter? She could learn how to build things herself through workshops, or her local community college, and she's likely to meet a partner who is into the same things if she is spending all her time working on those kind of projects. You talk about not whining, but talking people down is just as ineffective. Jealousy is not a bad thing. Stewing in jealousy and doing nothing about it is a bad thing, but how would you know if that's even what she's doing? There's nothing wrong with admiring someone else's life and wanting that for yourself, or perhaps for your own children. That's how we decide what to go after, and what we might want. If you don't give your life some direction then it's going to decide for you, so why not take the initiative? You say America is about working hard towards a goal, and that's true, but how do you think people decide what their goals are? They look to other families to see what they have (obviously) or why would anyone ever immigrate here? Why would they want to? Because they see what someone else has and they desire it for themselves.... so what are you even talking about then? She wasn't whining, she was stating a fact. A fact that can be changed by guiding your life in the direction you want it in the ways I just mentioned, or others as well I am sure. In a way, it kinda sounds like you are talking to yourself... and maybe you shouldn't be so hard on yourself... or others, lol.
@Mykel Hardin Exactly! I used to work for Winnebago Industries so I have lots of experience building motorhomes and I have built tiny houses also.
That has to be one of the nicest buses I’ve seen, very creative and artsy.
Every time I think I've found my favorite build, another one comes along to top it but, this one is special. I can't imagine finding one I'll ever love more than this one! You guys did such a beautiful job of making this a home that will sustain your family for as long as you like and that's such a HUGE accomplishment! I too, am so very tired of keeping up with a house. We do plan to live this lifestyle in the future. It's not time yet, but it will happen and your build has inspired me beyond words! I'm saving this one on my list of favorites! I already have the hanging chair packed up for my traveling home. There's a start! Thanks for sharing!!!!!

Very cool. Stylish. I like the TV on the wall. I don't think I have seen anyone put a TV on the wall in any of the other bus conversion videos that I have watched.

Drove that model among many others for 32 years! Very smart move! Retired. Pulling a trailer. Thought of this sooo many countless times while waiting for groups at a school. Very smart to get a bus with the compartments. Hint: For repairs, pull up to any school bus garage. Those mechanics are always wanting to do work on the side. Their intimate knowledge of these buses and things you'll pick up from them are priceless. Does yours have a re-gen system? I also looove pushers. Your design is stunning! Best I've ever seen! Saving this for future reference! I may still do this!

What model of bus is this because I am starting to look at buses and also what engine would this have in it and what kind of highway mileage would you expect at 55 miles per hour? Thanks!!

@@metalman69201 you don’t worry about mileage with something like this. These buses normally have the Cummins Diesel engine in the rear of the bus but there are a couple other Diesel engines that were occasionally used as well. You can expect 5-8 mpg on one of these depending upon a handful of factors but it’s not something you are driving long distances each day so fuel is usually negligible

If I could just find this same style bus now then I’d be all set. I want this style because it has the basement storage compartments already there for storage as well as plumbing etc. much easier, cheaper, and quicker build out than a regular school bus.
I absolutely love their design and use of space. I would absolutely help others build theirs out if they cover cost of materials needed. I’m ok with working for free but I’m not going to pay for your project either. I’m not greedy and we are sposed to help one another in life and everyone has forgotten that. You must be code to me or bring it to me in NC tho to get it done. We can all achieve our dreams and goals if we work together and quit trying to be greedy.
And i guess the important thing is that I’m a retired custom home builder and have tons of construction experience. I’d love to help someone if you need help

By far my favorite practical bus conversion. Perfect use of space and very practical use of wood like wall paper on the ceiling which reduces the weight of the bus and the light weight concrete counters and shower walls is a great discovery and again reduces the weight in the bus.
It’s busses like these that will help me talk my BF into doing this when we retire in 3 years. Great job and great attitude. Thanks for sharing.

This is the best bus build I have seen by far and I love the concrete look in the bathroom. I’ve only seen 1 other build that is like yours where the hallway is on the side instead of the middle and it gives u so much more room I love it.

I love the bus, not a fan of all that organic cement on the walls but then again, it’s not my home, it’s theirs, and they love it so that’s what matters! Love the idea of this lifestyle. Glad they are able to make their dreams come true and do what makes them happy! That’s what life is all about at the end of the day.

@@Asylumgym hey guys, had just come across this video and I know it’s been out here for a bit but just wanted to let you know that you both (and dad) did an absolutely amazing job on the build out!!! Im so proud of both of you and want to do something very similair and live in it full time as well. It’s just me and my wife but we are in our mid 50’s and are ready to scale back again and enjoy life while we are still here, seems like our chances of being here for a long time are getting shorter and shorter and we want to enjoy everything as much as possible before our chances are gone.
Do you mind me asking tho what you paid for the bus originally? I know they vary a bit and the activity bus style is what I want because they have the storage compartments already in the underneath of the bus which makes the conversion much easier but I have not seen any of that style for sale anywhere yet so I didn’t know what they were selling for compared to the regular school buses. If it’s private info then I respect that as well!

Good video. There's a putty that keeps items from moving from shelves so they dont have to keep putting away the stuff like vases. Of course dont use on books

Guess, I have nothing to worry about, when I see all you folks around the world,,, living the life of freedom and many adventures that cannot be had - any other way ...Its a great way to learn about your country and others up close and personal ....
I grew up in Northern Ontario where the winters are very cold and a heck of a lot of snow was evident year after year,,, So growing up on a street where there was an outdoor hockey rink at the end of our street - was a God send , as I loved skating and playing hockey from the time I got on skates at 3 or 4 yrs old. So adventure is part of my middlw name and my game......
And I have to say that I loved every minute of the outdoors I have always wanted to do this so bad and now that all my ducks are in a row ,,,so to speak , , I am very close to buying the foundation or bus and cant wait to get building it :-))
And am sure that building it will be fun and interesting and this will be a fun part of the adventure i am sure - right !!! Not only that , but when yoiu build your own , then you tend to know how to fix many problems that can pop up :-)
