      @@biblebill6206 the problem with your argument is that you're assuming everyone the NT is talking to are born-again believers, not so. The NT audience is the church, the whole church and not just believers. Very VERY big difference!
      Not everybody in church is a christian. Being part of the church doesn't mean that you've been born-again, had your sins washed away, and given a regenerated heart that longs to obey His commandments.
      The church is a much broader demographic with sub-demographics including true believers, potential would-be believers, false converts, and blatant unbelievers. And just it makes sense that way since the NT tends to switch between those target-audiences throughout different passages.

In that case just follow the law because if a sin causes you to lose salvation then that's no different than the law prior to Christ. God knew we wouldn't follow the law so that's why he brought us Jesus. Also God knows we will continue to sin which is why we couldn't follow the law in the first place..? How could we owe something that is already paid?

    Reading some of these comments I am wondering if anyone heard what Corey even said. Guys, put down your biases and presuppositions and read the word of God with an open mind ready to accept what it truly says. Scripture is so clear that it almost hurts, a truly saved person will not lose their salvation nor will their forfeit it by walking away.
    There are so many examples I can give but the best one comes from Christ Himself in John 6:37-44 where He declares three times that He will lose none of all whom the Father gives Him. To say that someone can lose their salvation in any sense, whether by sin or through apostasy is to call Jesus a liar.
    God is the one who saves and causes a person to be born again, and it is He who will keep that person in the faith until their very last day. He will preserve His own and they will never fall away, because He is greater than all and no one can snatch them out of His hand (John 10:28-30), including yourself.

    Pray. Pray daily and all of the time. Pray by yourself (when you wake, before you eat, and before you sleep). Pray about the things you are grateful of, the snares you escapes. Pray to God, that he may sanctify you and all of the people on Earth (lost or saved.. we all struggle).

    I agree that we cannot lose our salvation and once we have accepted Jesus as Saviour, we are eternally secure. Once we are saved, we are always saved. We can lose our salvation and, if after professing salvation we backslide and lose our faith, we are lost.
    The more likely word I would use is forfeit then lose (soul of salvation).
    Matthew 16:26 kjv explains that we more than likely can forfeit salvation when we turn from Jesus' gospel-for it is essential for salvation. Stating it properly, Jesus' gospel and our faith in his gospel are essential. Jesus and his gospel are both narrow and wide. We embrace Jesus' gospel by faith to become saved, and that makes it narrow.

    • @animegoatforever2571
      @animegoatforever2571 10 месяцев назад +1

      Okay, I see what you mean by referring back to Matthew 16:26 when it asked what will it profit a man who gains the world but forfeits his soul. But what you have to understand is that God is the Alpha and Omega so he knows what everyone’s destination is before they’re even conceived. Us humans only see on the surface. In other words, we think when we see someone lean towards the world, they’ve fallen away, but God knows what’s in their heart and what their final outcome in life will be. Now let’s say we see someone who appears to be leaning towards the Lord, we will assume that they are on the narrow path to Heaven. But do we know what’s in their heart? Not really. That’s why Jesus will say I never knew you you worker of iniquity. Think about this, there were 2 criminals that were crucified right along with Jesus. They probably did bad all their lives. However, one of them asked Jesus to remember him in Heaven. Jesus turned right around and assured him salvation just because of his belief in him.

    The contidicing is when you say ( its true if you stop believing you go to hell) but then say you can’t lose salvation. Salvation is what, being saved and delivered from sin and hell.
    Secondly, you said if salvation can be took, that means what what Jesus did for us loses its power. Well my brothers and sisters
    Romans 10:26 kjv: for if we sin willfully after that which we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sin……
    Which is what you said would have to have to happen.
    My brothers and sisters in Christ, if you keep sinning and sinning after knowing what sin is, there will be no longer a sacrifice of sin. Who knows how long it takes for the sacrifice to no longer remain, but just the fear alone should make us want to stay right, Amen

    • @spovlock51
      @spovlock51 10 месяцев назад +2

      Context is extremely important in Hebrews (not Romans 10) as well as all letters of the Bible. This letter was written to Hebrew people, mixed with believing Jews and unbelieving Jews. This passage was not written to you and I initially, so we must look at the historical context of the book and the original audience.
      I heard a preacher once say, "the Bible was not written to you, but it was written for you."
      Having said that, the writer here is warning the unbelieving Jews who have heard the gospel yet rejected it, that if they sin again, then their system of sacrifices cannot atone for their sins because Christ is the atonement for sins, not their sacrifices. Christ fulfills the Mosaic sacrificial system making the sacrifices null and void for anyone who attemps to use them after He has already provided atonement.
      The "sin" in question here can also be the willful rejection of Christ after receiving the knowledge of the truth. Their system of sacrifices no longer work to provide atonement. This cannot mean that if we sin willfully after we are saved then we lose our salvation, because that would be contradicting Paul in Romans 8.
      This is not speaking to modern day Christians who commit a sin, even a sin they know is wrong. A person living in willful, unrepentant sin is only giving evidence that conversion has not taken place (see 1 John 3:3-10). True believers are not immune to committing sin, even willful sin. But, the truly saved willl not continue in a lifestyle of sin, they will desire to repent truly and forsake that sin.
      Read John 6:37-44, three times Jesus declares "I will raise them up on the last day." The "them" is referring to the truly saved people. To suggest that someone can lose their salvation is to call Jesus a liar.

The Bible is a book of behavior it tells how your behavior should be if you are a believer and follower of Christ. Christ can help us but he doesn't make us change. I think we have to consider there is a difference between those who are "called" and those who are God's "chosen" (Matt 22:14). The "chosen" have "guaranteed" salvation or destruction (as indicated in Rom 9:19-23) and the "called" include multiple groups like those who can be saved but later fall away/be blotted out/etc.. In other words, the folks of Heb 6:1-9 would have been part of the "called" but not "chosen"... Let those with ears to hear, hear! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Like the prodigal son we can walk away from our father and our inheritance. You admit that if someone stops believing then no longer saved, yet you say it's impossible for someone to stop believing. That's a true Calvinist belief even if you don't realize it. We have free will before we come to Christ and we have free will afterwards. It's our choice and whenever Christ returns everyone will face judgement for their own actions only......marvel not at this for the hour is coming in which all who are in the Graves will hear his voice and come forth those who have done good to the resurrection of life and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation.....there is a difference between being saved made alive our conversion in the beginning and being resurrected unto life when Christ returns judgement our resurrection eternal salvation......

    You will say then, "Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in." [20] Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. [21] For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. [22] Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. [23] And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. [24] For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

      Jesus preached Law to show people that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory if God.”
      The Jewish leaders had taught them to justify themselves through legalism. Jesus preached that perfection is required of any who pursue justification through self righteousness. But “There is none righteous, no, not one.” “All our righteousnesses are but menstrual rags.”
      Self-righteous legalism was the sin that damned the Pharisees. Repent of making yourself the object of your faith, and instead trust God and the blood of Christ.

      I agree with ricksonora6656. To add to this, Jesus said that you are to be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect. Of course this is not possible since all have sinned and fall short of His glory, no one is righteous, no one is good save God alone, no one is perfect this side of heaven. God wants us to be perfect, to flee from sin, to follow after Him, obey His will and be imitators of God, but this is impossible for us to do because of our sinful nature. However, because of Jesus, who was the sinless lamb of God, paying the penalty for our sins, God sees us as the redeemed that fulfill His requirements for receiving the gift of eternal life. This of course does not give us a licence to sin so that grace my abound, since God's unmerited favor and His continued work in our hearts causes our wills to align with His. Our desire is to no longer to seek after fulfilling the evil desires of our old self, but to fulfill God's purpose in and for our new lives in Christ Jesus.

      @@slimdude2011 I understand your point, however, we cannot live a Christ-like life in our own strength. Without the Holy Spirit regenerating our spirit which inherited the fallen nature of the first Adam, there is no way we can be righteous or sin-free, since flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God because of it's fallen state, and is at constant war with our spirit. Thankfully Jesus, who is God in flesh, provided a way out of the cycle of sin and death, by sacrificing his body in place of ours on the cross, setting us free from the cycle of sin and death, through His unmerited grace. For it is by grace you have been saved, and not by anything you have done. Not by works, lest any man should boast. 4:00 This is not a certificate of debt. That is one of the many false teachings that arose from some since the Protestant Reformation, as the church has splintered repeatedly due to the fallout. The word literally is a handwritten record and it says "to/into the dogmas". This is a record of what laws you break. That is what Christ nailed to the Cross, the list of sins you committed that were recorded against you. It has nothing to do with debt and payment. The blood of Christ on the Cross is the Pascha blood, as Paul directly says in 2 Corinthians 5 and which protects us from the wrath of God that is coming upon the world. There is no legal sense of substitution or legal payment. That was all fabricated and injected into translations, but it is not there in the Greek. I challenge you to dig deep into it and don't allow figurative interpretations of the Greek words to muddy your mind, not the false theologies that have sprung up among the American and British churches over the past 500 years. Let the Greek speak for itself. I'll also challenge you to completely drop the Hebrew text that was created around 900AD and stick with the LXX Greek from 250BC. I'm sure if you dig into these two issues deeply enough and honestly, you will come to agreement on these matters.
