  • The 2011 is the modern iteration of the venerable 1911, but in the correct caliber. These pistols are usually really expensive- sometimes costing more than a month's pay. Live Free Armory brings the Apollo 11 Compact to market at a level that isnt trash tier pricing but is highly competitive in the high-end handgun market. The compact model is designed from the ground up to be concealed carry ready for those warmer months. So regardless of if we are talking self defense weapon on a cool conversation piece this should be something every gun enthusiast is aware of. Made in the USA

    I agree, I'd rather have magazines than a nice case. I would take a cardboard box and 3 mags. People's needs for a case very greatly. That case would work well for taking to the range. But its a carry pistol. I'm going to take the pistol to the range in a holster on my body. People can source their own tsa compliant case or other travel/security case.

    • @ezcompane
      @ezcompane 5 месяцев назад

      Same here. Honestly I've used a handful of included cases and those that I do are like the one included with the Apollo 11. But if given the choice of a case or extra magazines, give me 2-3 magazines.

    Another excellent video with good info. I personally agree with the 1 mag problem. Hell, send it to me in a dirty diaper with 3-4 mags and I'd be happy. When I go to the range I usually take like 2 rifles and 2 pistols at a time in a G.P.S soft double rifle case and range bag to hold ammo, eye & ear pro, tools, ect.. Works great for me. Sell me the tool and keep price down by removing all the fancy extras I don't need.

    I have the full size, first range trip, burned all 200+ rounds I took with me. Couldn't agree more, these weapons are a straight-up joy to shoot. know the compact is sprung tighter but the full size? When I pulled that slide back the first time it was like butter and I was instantly sold. And yes, more mags would definitely make it the best purchase period. I handled the prodigy and was not really impressed, this was a sale at first grip.

    The mag thing I don't care about because if I'm buying a pistol, I'm going to have at least 10 mags for that gun. Before I go shooting or to a match, I'm loading every mag before hand. I hate loading mags at the range.

  • @3wheelmannc860
    @3wheelmannc860 5 месяцев назад +2

    If you (the company) are that cheap to cut down to one mag with the premise of keeping the purchase price lower, you might question their direction as a company. If you are going to spend that much on a pistol, raise the friggin price enough to give us THREE mags from the factory. Good will goes a long way, and if the tool works, then we will come back and by more at the normal price.

      I just sent my Apollo compact back to LFA last week....About 30% failure rate in 450 rounds....LPS's, FTF's, dead trigger as in hammer won't release, and yes, I had shavings in the gun as well. I tried 6 different 115/124 ammo, with 3 LFA mags and 1 Checkmate mag (all made by Checkmate of course). Ammo made no difference.

    The grip safety thing is more than likely due to the thumb safeties.
    Those who ride the thumb safeties and have smaller hands tend to have a hard time depressing the grip safety.
    Depressing the grip safety more than half way should be sufficient as the gun also has thumb safeties

    I got one the other day.... I must have gotten one of the worst ones. definitely made cheaply. Horrible trigger, safeties are not fit and fall out, the hammer/sear pins are crooked so bad they had to punch the pins in with a hammer. it has some weird QC. I'm not happy with it even for $1000. The Prodigy is better in every way and feels 100x better quality.
    By far, the worst QC and quality pistol I've ever gotten. Including pistols that are half the price, I'd recommend tisas or MAC 9ds over this.

    I'd rather have that bag than an extra mag... because I'd be buying a bag that doesn't suit the pistol as well as that and I will just buy another mag. Either way I'm buying something extra. Howabout they get the price down on the other mag or just give us the damn mag with the case? There is alot of competition out there for 2011s and two mags with that case would be a massive selling point

      No, that’s me. I load every pistol that way. After thousands of reps of doing something it sticks regardless of the feedback the gun gives you. A really good example if you give me a broken gun that drops the slide when you insert the mag, I’ve already worked the slide before it registers in my brain. You would surprised how many times a round isn’t picked up. People who rely on that technique I just don’t get.
