- This time a the Quick Speed Shop I'm fighting to install the windshield glass in my 1959 Willys Jeep. The repop rubber is not quite right and this is really a 2 person job, but I got it in there anyway. Check it out!

I use a bent flat blade screw driver that I bend the the tip over and round everything off to make life easier to pull the rubber around the glass.
That sounds like a good tool. I know it was a struggle to get this glass in.
Some glass action today,, glass is not my favorite thing to do on a job, but it has to be done. Thank you for this awesome video

from what I have heard you install the wind shield in the rubber and use the rope to to in stall rubber to truck with glass in. from the inside

What a giant PITA!! There's a guy in the club who wants to pull the 2 piece windshield out of his '39 Ford and replace it with Plexiglas. I hope I can talk him out of it because of what you just went through!!
That's a bad idea.
Isn't the glass supposed to go to the outside of the metal lip of the windshield frame?
Only on modern style glass that is glued in with no gasket.

The kids might know how to do more technology, but I don't think they are any smarter judging by their decisions...!
i watched...never saw the driver window go in....or the passenger window? just a bunch of futile atempts of how not to do it .! he has never done this,,,you can tell.! so...why make a video..? cluster fuck if i ever saw one.!
I don't know what the problem is, the entire video was me installing the glass. At the start the glass clearly not installed and at the end of the video it is. I'm sorry I struggled and, yes, it was the first glass I had installed. Since I am not a professional glass installer, had to deal with a poorly made repop rubber window gasket, and didn't have any of the correct tools I'd say it turned out pretty good. Feel free to film your own windshield install video where you get the glass in without any struggle.
It is much easier to put the rubber on the glass then use a rope to pull the entire assembly into the frame.
