For borderlands 4 I really hope that gearbox and the devs have an honest sit down with people like you and Joltz and the other borderlands content creators. Because you guys are the epitome of us the viewers and the player base. We may not always agree on everything but I think when it comes to making these games work and understanding what we all want we're pretty much on the same page. I think we should be able to have more weight and an opinion on the game because clearly they don't know what they're doing right now and it's kind of unfortunate.
We need a proper endgame…definitely more activities…better matchmaking…borderlands should become a live-service game like Destiny with regular content, raids, social hubs etc.

I got up to chaos 50 with a friend and then we both sat at our computers and realised "why are we still playing?" Sad really cos it felt like the game could of been just amazing
Yeah, I was playing single player, and a friend of mine was thinking of getting the game. I got to the chaos chamber and said "don't". There's not enough content, and the chaos chamber is like a casino where you can't take the money with you. You can win a bunch of stuff that has zero impact on anything other than more chaos chamber. At least with TVHM you're doing the story and areas again. This is just borderlands stripped down to nothing but a loot slot machine. I thought the base game was OK, just OK, but finished it in like 20 hours, and that's counting all the time I was sitting at my PC waiting for the monologues to finish, so I could do the next mission.
@@sydhamelin1265 Totally agreed. Even with the event chaos runs where my friend and I were coming out with maybe 60-70k crystals each we weren't getting a single item useful item out from the run. You've 100% hit the nail on the head with TVHM ect. I've noticed though that since BL2 I've spent less and less time in each of the BL games it seems BL2 was the peak and it's kinda been downhill since then (That's just for me personally)
@@BenNuli BL2 was so great, easily the best of the series. The pacing of that game was so perfect, the missions went right from one to the next, the humor was easily the best of the series. Yes, the sliding and mantling is a good improvement, and it's great that they added more loot, but none of that factors in if you're not invested in the game itself. Also, Handsome Jack, one of the best villains in any game. I'm really hoping they look back to what made BL2 great.

Then you start pecking away during some end game stuff, the whole thing with Angel, and his ex-gf, and the jokes stop, and that's when you know you're under his skin, and man, what a feeling. Or destroying his statues....just pissing him off. Yeah, I don't think I've ever felt so satisfied taking the antagonist down.

I love how they never fixed the ai tracking when you die, they all just swarm over to where you're respawning and I'm just watching the cutscene thats 100% necessary, while getting shot at like 😐 "oh yeah, it's borderlands"
@@CowKirbo well I mean there hasn't really been evolving difficulty small roomed dungeons in any other one so. I found myself even getting tracked by ai when I used stabbos skill sometimes.

I think a lot of us are. I love the borderlands franchise but I won't touch wonderlands. Everybody says that it's really bad and how much they've missed opportunity wise for the game. Not to mention people paying for the DLCs just to have more the chaos Chambers as the DLC
@@billdover3165 as someone currently playing through wonderland, its honestly pretty boring. Most of the missions are literal fet h quests and busy work worse than bl3. I'm halfway through the game and I've only seen a single legendary. The spells are just grenade mods and of the 2 classes I've tried ( spellshot and spore warden) the skills are boring as hell and mostly useless. For spellshot the action skill just turns a single enemy into a sheep that floats around the map or for stronger enemies you get a single free spell or the other "action skill" just gives you 2 spell slots (grenade mod slot). The customization is pretty boring and basic. The loot all feels more samey than borderlands 1 somehow. Melee is meh it's easier go just shoot the enemy. Especially when guns do more damage faster and you dont have to be in melee range where enimes hit much harder. Oh and if you use your other classes skill, you cant have the original skill on. So if you're a spellshot and want to use an action skill you give up the spell shots entire draw of spamming spells. So cross classing is bullshit. You get the stat buffs from both but can only have 1 class active at a time. This is borderlands with extra shit to get rng drops for
It's hard to call wonderlands endgame bad when there wasn't any besides the chaos chambers LMAO, but great stuff on beating chaos 100 I could never play that much chaos chambers before reevaluating my life choices. Good stuff K6, glad you made the journey really entertaining

Hearing Pitchford say that Wonderlands end game content was cut to put more brains immediately onto BL4 is, I guess, a sigh of relief. And there's plenty of hope for Wonderlands 2 in the future as well. It would have been nice (and probably easy for the devs to add) TVHM though :(

Fortunately a friend of mine, was quick with the fingers and got me to Chaos 100 in 1 run, it took him about 20 hours, i repeat 20 HOURS!! So thanks again friendo, great job K6! 😀

It's disappointing that they just threw in the towel with this game by releasing chaos 100. Like the thumbnail said, for what purpose? Ascended gear was supposed to be the rarest..they didn't add a new rarity addition once you get to the top. Ascended becomes just as common as chaotic so what's the point?
Out of my 7 toons, I’m only grinding my Spellshot/Graveborn Laserhand-everybody toon to 100, the other 6 can stay at level 60. I get enough Ascended stuff to go around from all of those
I recently redownloaded Wonderlands to go for the platinum, currently stuck at Chaos 15, I don't have the time to grind for loot so I have pretty shitty stuff apparently lol
I feel that disdain for Banshee, Dragon Lord & Son of a Witch. I'm not so fond of seein any of them when I try to up my chaos levels. Maybe I'll upgrade my gear to get past 57 or 58 (don't recall what I'm at) but I've gotta get by Banshee and my build doesn't play nice w/flying enemies so Banshee is quite tough.
A few words before the end about your opinion playing to Chaos 100 would have been nice. Like is it worth the struggle to get the „good“ drop rates so you can actually farm bosses on the maps and stuff. Or is it a useless grind to just play more chaos chambers on Chaos 100. 🤷♂️
It's like division 2, they didn't know what endgame/dlc to give us so they made a 100 floor building that you had to fight thru for hrs to get a boss and useless legendary at the end. Looks like they copy that idea in this game...
I can't think of a worse endgame in a borderlands game than chaos chamber. Pre sequel at least felt like you had more to do than just tunneling to one mechanic
After playing BL3 for ... I don't know how long, on PS4, I have to say that I KINDA LIKE the idea of Chaos Levels. When I hit Mayhem in 3 I cranked it to 11, farmed a couple of vending machines, and never looked back. Some of my drops aren't great, but farming literally the same guy over and over again, having to reset the game, deal with it crashing (I don't know if this is common on other systems, but on PS4 if you hit continue before the screen fully loads, like before Claptrap is screaming in the back or your Event stuff is loaded, it will CRASH THE GAME, hard reset, deal with the initial loading screen again crash), and then go back to killing the same guy over and over. Some of them like Beef are a pain in the nuts to farm too, because your loot can drop off the map, and then you need to either go back to the lost loot machine, or wonder forever if that was your god roll Free Radical. I would much rather have something like Chaos Chambers to at least keep me invested. To at least give me a reason to play with my friend. I bought two copies of BL3 and all the DLC for me and my buddy. We stopped playing together months ago and I'm sure he's moved on by now while I'm still slowly farming god rolls and Guardian Ranks to do the True Maliwan Takedown solo. I'd love to farm shit together with him, but because the fastest way to farm anything is to run through zone, kill Sumo, reset, walk down stairs instead of running through the whole zone again, and save/quit kicks your current party... it's just optimal to farm the gear by myself. For a co-op game, I feel like that's a complete oversight. It should be objectively faster to kill the boss AND RESET THE BOSS as a team than solo. Otherwise, it loses a lot of the co-op aspect once you hit late game.
If they had made it so your chaos level goes up by the number of lives you have left at the end, that would have been so much better because you could pay crystals for extra lives to progress faster. Seems a bit backhanded that they made 1-50 faster because they’re “listening to feedback”, then turn around and made 50-100 even slower.
Eh, tbh 1-50 being fast, 50-100 being slow makes sense. People still 'early' could use a boost. If you're still going past 50, not like it being slower's gonna stop you.
G'day! I'm Dry'l! This is a trolly comment on ze YoobieToobie (also I *totally* see you when you're stealthing)! I think I'd rather play through the normal game with another character than do all of this chaos level grind 🤪
The fact that you can save quest rewards till chaos 75 and then get only primordial and ascended wuest rewards is pretty damn cool and i like the fact that its easier to find things for different builds at higher chaos levels. Ultimately this was a great update but the game still needs more content, but then again the lack of contents whats got me into build crafting and making different builds so ehh its a double edge sword really.
I kinda feel build crafting's kinda harder here because of how class mods/armor works - BL3 sort of legendary playstyle modifiers was fucking AWESOME, akin to D3 sets without the D3 'you suck ass without the massive power creep sets provide'. Wonderlands semi generic armor legendaries aren't too terrible, but a kind of lack and semi build minded skill choice seemingly skill picks, it's REALLY hard to get the armor type you want, with the right skills out of several dozen possibilities, with good effects. I mean, just matching a class is like 3 in 5 odds maybe, while being the 1 in 12 class variant you want, with skills placed like you want like if, say, you want X/Y class mod and you're X/Z class, z skills can't benefit you, so all points into X skills is best.
Eh, i'm a theorycrafting whore an i LOVE the skill tree idea - i had like 6 mozes, 4 amaras, 3 zane/flak, and even just brrzerker and spore warden looks doable 3 ways off the top of my head, which is kinda awesome - even a melee brrzerker's got options, crit, ability dm and revive companion, lifesteal, added shock too, etc. but a lack of varied endgame, even the dlc which normally adds a few hours of content and potentially new builds just repeats the chaos chamber idea, and imo the worst, class Mods. bl3 imo did the best with class mods with build defining legendary effects - sort of D3 sets without the weird power creep and limits D3 sets had, but Wonderlands has 'generic' legendary stuff - fine, tbh, bl2/TPS class mods were cool. but you need to get the item type you want, with good modifiers, ANDthe right skill setup as that's random too - and even if it"S 4/5 chance to be one of your classes, that's still 1/24 chance to be the skill spread you want - X class main and 5-6 classes, 5-6 classes main and your X class as the sub and both classes in the running, and while i'm sure there's builds you might want a specific tier 1-3 spread of one class only, it's just a lot more possibilities than is really good for an item slot. Even if you get the right class mod, the right legendary trait, you're still worried about the right points, like my spell/grave build wanting spell/stab armor for boosting double shot via perks as i went down more of graveborn's tree - any stab points would be wasted, and it was pretty critical, heh, to max doubleshot. That just kinda killed wanting to do builds for me. i made two kinda early, spell/grave and brr/spore action skill blizzard focus, but by then i felt the only way i'd feel, ah, inspired, to do more builds is if i'd already gotten the build's desired class mod in doing chaos levels. and i don't really like doing that, either, i like starting characters and gearing up on their own, not just hitting max level and having instawIn gear in storage from another character.

It's disappointing that they just threw in the towel with this game by releasing chaos 100. Like the thumbnail said, for what purpose? Ascended gear was supposed to be the rarest..they didn't add a new rarity addition once you get to the top. Ascended becomes just as common as chaotic so what's the point?

I feel that disdain for Banshee, Dragon Lord & Son of a Witch. I'm not so fond of seein any of them when I try to up my chaos levels. Maybe I'll upgrade my gear to get past 57 or 58 (don't recall what I'm at) but I've gotta get by Banshee and my build doesn't play nice w/flying enemies so Banshee is quite tough.
Chaos Chamber made this game worth it. Didnt mind the story either.

A few words before the end about your opinion playing to Chaos 100 would have been nice. Like is it worth the struggle to get the „good“ drop rates so you can actually farm bosses on the maps and stuff. Or is it a useless grind to just play more chaos chambers on Chaos 100. 🤷♂️

Really the achievement for Chaos Chamber is to reach level 20 and that’s it. No need to grind it all away to 100.

It's like division 2, they didn't know what endgame/dlc to give us so they made a 100 floor building that you had to fight thru for hrs to get a boss and useless legendary at the end. Looks like they copy that idea in this game...

I can't think of a worse endgame in a borderlands game than chaos chamber. Pre sequel at least felt like you had more to do than just tunneling to one mechanic
Hell, claptrap and arena dlc, along with level cap changes and new builds, were good too - here all the dlc is the same postgame grind idea.

The Chaos Levels in BL3 were absolutly great. The ones from Wonderlands are total trash.
How does the 2 ammo per shot whit rider impart more damage if it doesn't provide x2 on the item card?

After playing BL3 for ... I don't know how long, on PS4, I have to say that I KINDA LIKE the idea of Chaos Levels. When I hit Mayhem in 3 I cranked it to 11, farmed a couple of vending machines, and never looked back. Some of my drops aren't great, but farming literally the same guy over and over again, having to reset the game, deal with it crashing (I don't know if this is common on other systems, but on PS4 if you hit continue before the screen fully loads, like before Claptrap is screaming in the back or your Event stuff is loaded, it will CRASH THE GAME, hard reset, deal with the initial loading screen again crash), and then go back to killing the same guy over and over. Some of them like Beef are a pain in the nuts to farm too, because your loot can drop off the map, and then you need to either go back to the lost loot machine, or wonder forever if that was your god roll Free Radical.
I would much rather have something like Chaos Chambers to at least keep me invested. To at least give me a reason to play with my friend. I bought two copies of BL3 and all the DLC for me and my buddy. We stopped playing together months ago and I'm sure he's moved on by now while I'm still slowly farming god rolls and Guardian Ranks to do the True Maliwan Takedown solo. I'd love to farm shit together with him, but because the fastest way to farm anything is to run through zone, kill Sumo, reset, walk down stairs instead of running through the whole zone again, and save/quit kicks your current party... it's just optimal to farm the gear by myself. For a co-op game, I feel like that's a complete oversight. It should be objectively faster to kill the boss AND RESET THE BOSS as a team than solo. Otherwise, it loses a lot of the co-op aspect once you hit late game.

If they had made it so your chaos level goes up by the number of lives you have left at the end, that would have been so much better because you could pay crystals for extra lives to progress faster. Seems a bit backhanded that they made 1-50 faster because they’re “listening to feedback”, then turn around and made 50-100 even slower.
Eh, tbh 1-50 being fast, 50-100 being slow makes sense. People still 'early' could use a boost.
If you're still going past 50, not like it being slower's gonna stop you.

The fact that you can save quest rewards till chaos 75 and then get only primordial and ascended wuest rewards is pretty damn cool and i like the fact that its easier to find things for different builds at higher chaos levels. Ultimately this was a great update but the game still needs more content, but then again the lack of contents whats got me into build crafting and making different builds so ehh its a double edge sword really.
I kinda feel build crafting's kinda harder here because of how class mods/armor works - BL3 sort of legendary playstyle modifiers was fucking AWESOME, akin to D3 sets without the D3 'you suck ass without the massive power creep sets provide'.
Wonderlands semi generic armor legendaries aren't too terrible, but a kind of lack and semi build minded skill choice seemingly skill picks, it's REALLY hard to get the armor type you want, with the right skills out of several dozen possibilities, with good effects.
I mean, just matching a class is like 3 in 5 odds maybe, while being the 1 in 12 class variant you want, with skills placed like you want like if, say, you want X/Y class mod and you're X/Z class, z skills can't benefit you, so all points into X skills is best.

Eh, i'm a theorycrafting whore an i LOVE the skill tree idea - i had like 6 mozes, 4 amaras, 3 zane/flak, and even just brrzerker and spore warden looks doable 3 ways off the top of my head, which is kinda awesome - even a melee brrzerker's got options, crit, ability dm and revive companion, lifesteal, added shock too, etc.
but a lack of varied endgame, even the dlc which normally adds a few hours of content and potentially new builds just repeats the chaos chamber idea, and imo the worst, class Mods. bl3 imo did the best with class mods with build defining legendary effects - sort of D3 sets without the weird power creep and limits D3 sets had, but Wonderlands has 'generic' legendary stuff - fine, tbh, bl2/TPS class mods were cool.
but you need to get the item type you want, with good modifiers, ANDthe right skill setup as that's random too - and even if it"S 4/5 chance to be one of your classes, that's still 1/24 chance to be the skill spread you want - X class main and 5-6 classes, 5-6 classes main and your X class as the sub and both classes in the running, and while i'm sure there's builds you might want a specific tier 1-3 spread of one class only, it's just a lot more possibilities than is really good for an item slot. Even if you get the right class mod, the right legendary trait, you're still worried about the right points, like my spell/grave build wanting spell/stab armor for boosting double shot via perks as i went down more of graveborn's tree - any stab points would be wasted, and it was pretty critical, heh, to max doubleshot.
That just kinda killed wanting to do builds for me. i made two kinda early, spell/grave and brr/spore action skill blizzard focus, but by then i felt the only way i'd feel, ah, inspired, to do more builds is if i'd already gotten the build's desired class mod in doing chaos levels. and i don't really like doing that, either, i like starting characters and gearing up on their own, not just hitting max level and having instawIn gear in storage from another character.
