  • This is a quick unboxing of Raised Right cooked dog food. This is a human grade dog food that is cooked and then shipped fresh directly to you. It is flash frozen to ensure it reaches you safely and then can be placed into your refrigerator or freezer. A unique aspect is a focus on transparency that raised right integrates into production. Every batch of food is tested for pathogens and only once cleared is shipped. To clearly demonstrate this you can go to the website and check the report yourself. This is great and goes along with the extensive detailing to let you know why each ingredient is present in the food and even where they come from/are sourced.
Speaking of ingredients, this is an area Raised Right does really well. They worked with Karen Becker to formulate a recipe that does not include cards like rice or potatoes. Furthermore, the total carb % is 3.5% or less. This is great as the focus is first and foremost on animal protein. There is also the inclusion of meat organs which is always a plus in my book when it comes to nutrient density.
It is one of the leading options out there for those looking for a high quality, human grade, lightly cooked dog food that can offer significant improvements in the quality of diet and overall health for your dog compared to traditional kibble.
Another area that is different is the package and guaranteed weight. You get to control and define how much you want to feed from the 2LB bags. This is different than many companies which use a profile based on breed, weight, and activity and then define an amount of food they ship you.
In this initial impressions, it focuses on the unboxing experience on receiving a starter or trail of raised right beef recipe.
This is not a full in-depth review. We will be covering recipes, cost, taste testing, sourcing and production and much more in our forthcoming review. In addition, we will have a video comparing 10 different cooked dog food companies.

I was about to pull the trigger and get this food until I saw canola oil and peas... 😫
EDIT: I contacted the company and they are replacing canola with flax seed oil soon! ✌

I would still be ok with Raised right as whole peas are a quality ingredient. The concern comes when there is splitting of peas and overabundance at the expense of high-quality animal proteins. You can check out Evermore Pet Food, Sundays or A Pup Above or Your Pet's Chef as other high-quality options. Best of luck!

Do you have a video that compares this group of dog food? Pros and cons and which one raises above the rest ?

How much crude protein is in this food?
    Thank you

Dry matter is 61% and as fed would be 23% ( moisture is 62% ) which is the norm for a cooked dog food. A key differences with raised right though is the extremely low essentially 0 level of carbs ( 1.49% )
