I just ordered a 821 and wanted to put a Windshield there : they told me to spend money on something else like a nicer read end. Windshield is mostly cosmetic... and they told me that 821/1200 models surprisingly don't have as much wind as other roadsters so I would not need it.
Guybrush Threepwood I do rather agree with the not as much wind as others, I've ridden a Triumph Street Triple and the M1200 I rode seemed a lot more civilized. I'll probably still do the windscreen anyways when I pick up the 821. On the subject of rears, Evotech makes nice tail tidies and they're half the price of the Ducati one. I helped install one on aforementioned Triumph and it was very well made.
Toaster Chicken It looks quite nice wih it. I will also install one on the bike. Some reviews say the LCD display is a bit hard to read sometimes, so I hope a darkened windshield will improve this. Been waiting 3 weeks already, my 821 should get to the bike shop this week. It's horrible to wait :p
Yes. I just passed the 1000 Km mark and the bike went out of her first revision yesterday. I have left the 57 hp mode for Touring and I absolutely love it. It's a joy machine. It pushes hard, brakes very hard, engine is amazing, sound is incredible, you cant believe how noisy it is (I do more noise than a Harley or a bike without DB killers). Got her in Red and it's a joy machine.
TOASTER! The screen works quite well and it is a well spent money!
Another tip is the DUCABIKE in Italy, good products and very helpful service, contact Claudio and he will sort you out!
how are the mirrors, are they better? what brand?
How well does that windscreen work?
