Back in 2013 you could have bought a complete set of plastics for the SXV for around a hundred dollars. In 2022 you can't get new plastics (front & rear mudguards are available, but no side plastics). One of the reasons I keep the passenger footpegs on my 2008 SXV550 is for crash protection - I'd rather scratch them than the rest of the bike, and these days I'm paranoid about damaging the bike because it's so hard to find replacement parts. It's getting real hard to find parts but there's nothing else to replace it. I consider an SXV to be a lot like a Ferrari F40 - it was damn good back in its day, and it hasn't really aged. But you didn't want to crash it back in its day, and you *really* don't want to crash it now.
Ya someone put lights on a race bike it’s was a Ferrari for sure and it started drinking all its oil in one ride after a total life of 3,500 miles…sold it and went DRZ
@@sicwhittlocal209I bet the drz feels like a turtle compared to the sxv. Should have gone for a KTM 525 exc or KTM 500 can't say what the reliability is like for the 500 but I have a 525 and 450 rfs KTM models and they're solid engines and fast too. Around 500 hours on my 450 exc and only changed top end around 250 hours for peace of mind for a hi comp piston
@@gixxer7907 the SXV is on its own level for sure fast AF was great! I race cross country D36 with a 500exc moded more xcw and it does awesome I agree way faster, I love the drz its fast enough for me on the street it will do 100 and a blast in the corners with the mods on it
@@sicwhittlocal209 Yeah true, definitely the fastest supermoto out there just shame about the reliability of them. Yeah, drz is less maintenance than ktm but I don't get to ride often so the ktm is a better choice for me I have my 525 for supermoto and 450 for enduro
I ride Husqvarna SMS 630 and I know the feeling. There is not just a problem with plastics but literally any part for this bike. It's 2010 bike and it's impossible to get parts for it. I won't be getting another husky or ktm based just on that.
its been a roller frame in the corner of the garage since 2013 but it had 80s hp & 60s tq with the light weight there is no problem working a sport bike. If I pass then who am I going to film? haha
@@sicwhittlocal209 Roller frame only? What happened to the engine? Engine parts are getting hard to find now, but it can be done. Aprillia no longer sells pistons, barrel linings and other essential parts, but there are other supply options (eg Carillo rods, Carillo or Wiseco pistons).

you have to love that attempted pass on the pullout.
Thats the normal line I like but that could have happened as well, but then who am I going to film lol
It was awesome, a little more HP and you could've pulled it off.
Looks like your bike is for sale on Craigslist.
