Those Charlie Murphy True Hollywood Stories are two of the most memorable skits from The Chapelle Show however those skits came in season 2. To suggest that those skits made the show what it was is incorrect. There is no way that you watch that show in real time while it was on the air if you believe that. That show was super successful prior to season two and was just as popular outside of those two skits.

my favorite work of Charley Murphy was him in Black Jesus a comedy series on comedy central. I think he really shined in his role on that show, just didn't get the same exposure. Same with John Witherspoon. Real gem those two were on that show.
