My favorite stand-alone definitely is sorcery of thorns! I’m excited for the novella that was just announced! I absolutely loved the shadows between us that was top read of last year!
I would be very interested in a video about trilogies and if you usually like book 1, 2 or 3 best. You could first give your guess and then go through your actual rating of the individual books of some trilogies and see if your guess was correct!

I wrote a book that would fit perfectly into this list. The Dragon Codex: Quest for the Relics of Design is a story about young dragons who have to learn graphic design normal realm from creative desolation. It's a great story about perseverance, friendship and family.

I’ve nearly finished Warrior of the Wild it’s brilliant I only started it yesterday morning I can’t put it down, it’s up there with Dunk and Egg, thanks for the recommendation, now i need to find a new read
I really enjoyed An Enchantment of Ravens whenI read it. I was sick at the time and needed something fluffy and cute. And surprisingly I found that it also had beautiful writing, amazing atmosphere and so funny. And then I read Vespertine and Margaret Rogerson turned into one of my all-time favorite authors 😍 that book broke me but in a good way.
Oh, I had no idea Vespertine was a stand alone! That will bump it up my list! I’m all about stand alone lately
I am still yet to read Vespertine but I am hoping to get to it soon as I have heard good things about it. I enjoyed Small Favors and the twist was well done. I read Kingdom of Back after your recommendation and it was so enjoyable. I also still need to read Girl Serpent Thorn.
I haven't seen that particular cover of Gallant. I loved Small Favors and definitely want to pick up House of Salt and Sorrows. I pre-ordered the new paperback of Descendant of the Crane. I got so excited when it was announced. I wish Elatsoe had more world building or that there was a sequel because I was fascinated by it and wanted more.

My favourite standalone fantasy is Weaveworld, by Clive Barker. It is both magical and disturbing. It was published in 1987 and was nominated in 1988 for the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel.
Little Thieves was so good, and yeah yeah it WILL have a sequel but I agree that it has a very satisfying ending and I am pretty happy with it as a standalone for now myself.
'Hotel Magnifique' would fit on this list as well - it's a standalone (I'm pretty sure) YA fantasy, released this year :)
I think if you liked Wicked Deep you would also like Winterwood. There's just something about Shea Ernshaw's writing that sucks me in! Also The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd Jones is one I never see talked about and I loved it!
I really enjoyed Warrior of the Wild and Long May She Reign - although, Long May She Reign is one of those few standalone books that I feel could have benefited from a sequel... I didn't want the story to end.

I recently read Girl Serpent Thorn and it was so good! With Vespertine, I am never sure whether it's a standalone because it was announced as a series. But can it be read as standalone?

Vespertine is a series!
I thought Vespertine was a duology?
Vespertine is wonderful, but Rogerson has stated in interviews that it's the first of her works that isn't intended as a standalone.
She mentioned on her Goodreads that people can read it as a standalone and that's why it has a complete ending but yes it's going to be a series.

I really didn't enjoy long may she reign. I know it came out in 2017 but a book that did it better with this exact trope is Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep came out I 2018 it's a trilogy but again with this exact trope and did it 1000000000x better.
