- In Episode #95, we pull up our anchor in Carolina Beach Harbor and decide to put two travel days into one and travel all the way to Beaufort, NC. It was a long day but we arrived safely and spent 2 days in Beaufort, weathering a storm.

Nice day for a boat ride. The dolphins were amazing as well as the houses and boats along the way. The sunrise was special too.

I'm from NC. We vacation in Morehead city area or Beaufort. Used to live in Carolina Beach. Lots of the footage was familiar. I dream about doing the great loop in retirement. Not sure what kind of trawler to realistically look for. I have a few more years to work then maybe. Beaufort is a great walking town. Welcome to NC!

That was a perfect day for a cruise. When y'all started off in Carolina Beach Harbor it looked so peaceful with no waves. It was pretty nice watching the dolphins in clear water. Enjoyed the long cruise.

The ideal cruise it seems. Not too much traffic but you can yell your getting nearer a bigger city. Hope your stay was good and maybe you missed all the bad weather. Enjoy

Figure Eight Island is just North of Wrightsville Beach, N.C. -- Very, very, exclusive... the Bridge over the Waterway there is guarded and private... Home to a few movie stars and VIP's.... there are no condo's or apartments there... (that I know of)
The next island up is Topsail Island... a good spit of sand and land 15 miles long and narrow... was really hit hard by Hurricane Bertha and Fran back in the 90's...
From the land side of things, I always preferred Swansboro in that neck of the woods... (so much less commercialized...) Avoid Morehead City in my opinion...

Beaufort is not on the Outer Banks although part of the OB are in the same county. We call people like these "dingbatters" here on the NC coast.
