Damn I'm glad to see people still using the old DFX. Mine gave me years of great hunts. I think it's the best ID'ing detector I've used to date. To me the DC phase is a must to help ID targets. I always ran it in mixed mode because it was so easy to tell if a good target was in between nails. It's noisy but deadly especially if you accept down to around -20. It's amazing at how well this detector hits over tiny targets.

I have a feeling it will work fine for you. My DFX sat for 7 plus years before my father decided to give it to me. He only used it a few times. After charging the battery (still using the stock one) I took it out and all worked great. Hope it works for you and you start enjoying the hobby again.
      Take care and happy hunting.

Yeah I just came back from the first hunt in years..The new battery worked fine but the screen on the dfx seems to be not working correctly..Sometimes it seems to malfunction and not show me all the things it should. I went to a house built in 1870 ..I thought I would of done real good but I only found clad coins and not many of them...lots of false signals and junk..Hard to dig the ground..Ohh well I get em next time..

Thank you DrumnDetect. I like the DFX a lot. It went south shortly after I inherited it, so I only had a few months in using it, and a long way to learning it. Got used to the AT Pro, then finally decided to put some money into the DFX and get it looked at.
I do have a lot of nails :) and lots of dropped nails...in great condition.
The buff made the day for me. Only the second one in 17-18 months :)
Good Luck and Happy Hunting to you also!

Hello, I like your videos, real mellow and at the same time informative. Dont like the ones where the diggers show off and dig up rarities and ramble a mile a minute. I have had a DFX for 3 years and now finally starting to master the machine.I live in Nebraska. Got some good books from the White website which really helped. Keep on hunting !

The DFX is a good machine.
I can't remember the name of the shovel. I do know it's from Lesche. And I bought it from Lesche off of Amazon.
      Appreciate the comment :)

try the 6x10 DD coil works incredible for speed hunting way better than concentric loop for smaller to larger targets in high mineral content

Glue a flat round rare earth magnet on the orange cap of the pin pointer...pick out the ferrous metals first
