This was actually a really great video and I feel much better about shipping my products and how to handle things! Thank you so much! I also looked up the zones and learned more about zip codes, so this was really helpful! Thank you again for such a wonderful video! 🙂
Your videos are really helpful for beginners, so thanks!!! Are you business student? I feel like you're going to be very successful whatever you do. You have the right attitude for sales.
hey, guys is it possible to charge a custom shipping rate based on a set of conditions like: 5$ shipping fee for items between 0$ and 20$ and select one carrier for all orders? i would like shopify to route all orders to USPS.
Hi! Hanna I have a question I have product at home that buy and want to sell on shopify but ship it from home can I do that and what do I need to setup? Sorry for the stupid question.
Yes for sure, most e-commerce stores are started from the home. You should check out some of my videos on my store and how I started and maybe it will help you decide which is the best route for your own journey :]
If you add the weight and size of each variant the shipping will be calculated for you based on location and quantity. You add it to the variation options in your listing and when you setting up the listing
hello! ty for ur videos ! how do you ship so many packages via shopify shipping even though SS doesn’t provide a shipping manifest / scan sheet for usps?
It's still fuzzy for me and I'm about ready to just shut it down. Shopify has their shipping rates versus the rates set by my print on demand supplier Printify). How do I change the rates then? Printify does not ship my products based on weight; it's based on pieces (they are jigsaw puzzles).
@@EcomHannah does your Shopify account have to be linked to a usps account? Or is this all just through Shopify. Just curious if I need to set up a usps account
Hello, the video was very helpful, but I have a few questions. I am selling t-shirts on my Shopify store. I am going to use USPS First class packaging services and I noticed that all packages have to be under a pound. What would I need to do if an order came in that totaled more than a pound? I also have boxes on hand. Would I need to somehow set it up so that Shopify would auto-select a box if the weight goes over a pound. Additionally, I would like to be using the carrier calculator. Do you have any ideas?
So say someone ordered 4 shirts, if you set up the listing weight as 1/2 a pound per shirt when they go to check out it will auto calculate the shipping label for you and charge them a total for a label that equals 2 pounds so it will be like $8.90 something. Any label I believe over a certain weight automatically becomes priority shipping. Now if you offer free shipping to your customers when you go to buy the label from shopify you will see the label options you can buy based off the total weight of the order. As long as you input the weight of the single item in the listing it will auto calculate the total weight
You should be able to put multiple shirts in a mailer instead of a box but if you want to use boxes that is find too. regardless if it is in a box verses a mailer it is more based on weight which it will weigh close the the same still putting it around that $8.90 priority ship mark
I use different drop shippers from Printify... I've created a shipping profile for each product's printing facility. ex: I use one printing facility for t-shirts and another for hoodies. Is this correct? How do I set up USPS with having multiple printing facilities with different rates and shipping times?
For some reason when I add my own rates it does not look like that. It does not let me put in a rate name instead it says "shipping speed" and you pick how many business days. Is this new shopify update or?
What if what youre shipping does not require more than an envelope (stickers)? Where i am, to ship an 8$ order literally 4 blocks away would cost over 15$ (not that I would bother shipping that, just a test address). Even with the weight of the individual stickers and weight of envelope with card inputted. Meanwhile I can go get a stamp for a dollar ????? Do I have to use this method for shipping or can I just state in my shipping policy that it's all standard mail with stamps?? Thanks
I am looking to transfer my business to shopify. My main concern is shipping. I watched your entire video and found it extremely helpful. So shopify will base shipping on weight only and not on size? I have clients that purchase 10 to 30 items all different sizes and weights. Will this work for me?
Thank you for your video but Im having trouble with where it ships from? It keeps saying my address but shouldn't it say the address of Tee Launch Or im using Customized too. I don't know what to do Im so out of my comfort zone 😢 I am getting very frustrated
Hey Hannah! Thank you for this video. Very helpful! What is your opinion on packaging? Do you use poly mailers that you buy in bulk or USPS free priority mail envelopes? What do you think is the best option?
It really depends on your business and what you are selling, if you are just starting up cutting costs would be the best choice, but if you want to make it more personalized I would use poly mailers, I personally use poly mailers :)
Hi Hannah, I just watched your video and I was wondering if you can tell me how you set up for Shopify to charge you monthly for shipping instead of taking it out of the money they put into your account? Any help will be greatly appreciated
This is unrelated but I heard there's a loop hole on the address you put on product labels, it says if your location can be looked up that you don't have to put the street and number. You can get away with only city and state... do you know if this applies to home based business? I don't want people to know my address lol 😖
Thanks for the tutorial, however Shopify only offers Shopify Shipping to businesses based in America, Canada and Australia. Not great for a UK based business like mine. Having to use an external app to manage my orders which is time consuming and a bit complicated to set up. Was hoping for better from Shopify.
@@EcomHannah am about to start my lashes business and in the shopify app it Says I can't get pickup package from my address, please can u help I live in Italy
Correct so when you go to fill an order you’re going to have to buy the label. so if you’re not charging your customer for shipping then you’re just paying for it and not washing the cost but if the customer pays for shipping you collected the money but the payment for the label still comes out of your credit card
@@EcomHannah do you recommend doing the real cost carrier rates than setting up your own rates? also if i do the real cost carrier rates it would be better since the shipping would be the exact amount that i would be paying for the shipping label, and i wouldn’t lose any money, correct?
Alright so you said that the customers themselves would be charged for the shipping if I choose that on the back end of my account, so why would I, as the business owner, be charged later?
So you’re collecting the money from your customer and then when you go to fulfill the order you are going to purchase the label from USPS or whichever carrier you decide in which case that company is going to charge you for whatever it costs your customer for shipping
