They sound like a young, high-energy punk band but look like a bunch of suburban dads going through simultaneous mid-life crises that decided to start a garage band that plays on weekends. I honestly love it.
Man i was on gta 5 yesterday listening to this and i didn't really ever bother paying attention to the song itself but i gotta say, this is definitely one of the best songs on that game.
The drummer from Jellyfish used to play like this, as well as the drummer Zach Wentz from another San Diego band Kill Me Tomorrow that he played in with his now ex wife K8 (now defunct went on to form The Dabbers a 2 piece with his new wife Shelby Wentz), then THEY reformed into a 3 piece called Forest Grove where he plays guitar. I've seen others set up like this but I can't recall at the moment
Does anyone else feel a great sense of relief that they fuck up the lyrics as often or less than the frontman? Love this song. Been trying to nail it for three days and always fuck up the verses without the lyrics right in front of me... 😂
I had the pleasure of seeing them live a couple of times. They rocked both times especially in support of the debut rec.. Sad to hear they are no more.
Seriously though, you can see the guitarist starts normally and then at 0:11 the drummer starts like 1.5x Then you see the guitarist adapt while he makes some faces like "thanks I hate it"
I love the soft pack but it just seems like in every performance of this song it takes them so long to get in rhythm. At least a minute until the guitar and drum get in sync
Give these dudes credit, when wavves was on there the sound guy had them all fucked up it seems like on these shows you dont even get moniters but they did well anyway
i know no one will read this but this is so much better than the gta v radio station version. the tempo is faster here and i think almost played in a different key. ive tried to listen to the studio version but it sounds terrible compared to this. i guess thats just a good live band for you.
