Erm, no, because Mars is a dead, cold empty planet with rocks as it's biggest selling point, and the risk to my current body to get there is very high.

I think they just werent concerned with him and more worried about the humans getting sequidized, so him coming back for the rock was basically a "oh... okay".

He really should have gone back to Mars sooner to explain things after he learned the truth. Once Viltrum starts focusing on Earth, Mars would be in just as much trouble on top of their Wacky Wall Crawler problem.

The reason I think the Martian King wasn’t alarmed when he heard Mark was a Viltrimite was because he didn’t actually know what a Viltrimite was. He looked at his assistant like “We know who Viltrimites are right?” *shrugs*
That’s what I thought too because he didn’t react or try to object/correct when he said that viltrimites liked to “help out”

They lived underground, so not many news come there.
They know basically nothing of the viltrumites. I don’t believe they’re part of the council of planets.
After he shouted that he's the emperor of Mars and that he's heard of viltrumites he looks back to one of his people probably hoping he's heard of them but just gets a confused shrug. Pretty sure Martians got no idea.
IF they did know about Viltrumites, then wouldn't it be better to just assume that he really did come in peace and try to stay relaxed? With how many planets the Viltrumites have colonized the Martians would have been wiped out if they provoked them at all.

I genuinely appreciate how the show addresses and glosses over the lack of a language barrier, most scifi would ignore it or put an unnecessary amount of effort into excusing the lack of it.

Just wanna say i'm proud of Amazon for making such an amazing adaptation of the comicbooks (even if things aren't 100% like they were in the comics as a comic reader the changes you made not only keep it fresh for us folks who "already knew the story" but also improve it in my opinion, feels like a way more experienced storytelling than Kirkman's first steps on the initial arc) and also proud of the comment section for not spoiling anything! :D

Notice how the last Astronaut wasn't asked anything during the takeoff check. Prob would've revealed something about what really ah gwaan with him in particular. The windshield cracking was perfect timing.

I know this is probably just a continuity error, but I like to entertain the idea that the Martian is just freaking out about the flag's orientation and was constantly changing it hoping to get have it correctly positioned when someone looked.

The martians are isolationists, and they had never heard of Viltrumites. The king just didn’t want to seek ignorant so he said he heard of them.
Yeah in the comic the Mars Emperor is much more honest and says he has no idea what a Viltrumite is
The Martians literally live in a cave, under a feudal society and there's only one Viltrumite representative in our part of the galaxy.
So if the Martians were immune to the sequoid. Why couldn't they just have killed the Sequoid or gotten rid of them all that time they were there?

Since im Not comic Reader i try to make some reasons
1.they are useful as food or slaves
2.they have super fast reproduction+ they have some way to hide

Viltumites aren't known in their own galaxy that's the same reason earth don't know about viltumites. If he knew what a viltumite is, then the martian that was a guardian would have known too and Omni man would have been caught even before mark was born

I love the fact of Mark as immature superhero decided to ignore all that the Martian king was saying which is 100% true and just as fast as possible the scene shows that the evil creatures is on their way to earth using a human as a host and this means that we will see the consequences of Mark's decision in season 2! I really admire that Amazon prime job in the recent years...the boys? Invincible? Amazing job and I hope it keeps going 🎉❤
That dodgy astronaut was probably a Martian using its shapeshifting powers to impersonate a human, not a sequid-infested human (spelling?). Compare with the confirmed sequid-infested human in the last scene.

It'd make sense for Martians to not know about Viltrumites. They live underground and their world had nothing much to plunder except dry rocks and sand. Which was probably why Nolan was sent to Earth and no one to Mars. Because it's not worth conquering.
