Maybe thirdly if you put the squad competing second. He ended up propping the Glazers up. And then trying to put ticket prices up and he said it was for a small number of tickets. But we're seeing the benefits of it here. 10 years ago UTD could just raid Bournemouth, Forrest or Villa and attempt to buy themselves out of trouble. They can't now though. The clubs who recruited well are thriving right now. Clubs like Liverpool, Forrest and Bournemouth are all reaping the rewards of recruiting well over the last few years. And UTD can't just sweep in and pilfer those clubs for whoever they want. Not that they would be taking Liverpool players but they'd be sweeping up all the talent from all the other clubs that have recruited better than they have over the last few years

    • @Peakfitn3ss

      Who's stopping the interest payments? Think about it. The glazers have never ever had an intention to clear the debt. And sir Jim, regardless of what anyone thinks, why would he/should he clear a 1b debt that a) isn't his and b) if he did, the glazers could literally just take out loans against the club AGAIN because they still own 75% of it. He'd be an absolute mug to clear that debt before he owns the club outright. I wouldn't do it, and I doubt anybody else would either whilst still holding just 25% of the club

    • @sirmarcus1
      @sirmarcus1 День назад +2

      @ Please do some proper research the recent financial reports that came out showed £63 million in interest payments. There was a mechanism in place called a full sale, or the owners can finally come out their pockets and clear the debt. 18 months ago they got £1.2 billion. How much of that money when back into the club? Zero!

    • @sirmarcus1
      @sirmarcus1 День назад

      @@sirmarcus1 No. You've followed the sheep. The £61m was NET FINANCE COSTS. Net Finance Costs is NOT the cash cost of the debt. Look at the consolidated cashflow statement for the cash cost of the debt. Last year it was £24m for the Glazer debt and £13m for the RCF. Since the 2015 refinancing the cash cost of the Glazer Debt has been on average £19m a year.
      Nobody was willing to pay the $7b for a full sale, stop crying about it.

    Simon Jordan defending the hike in ticket prices, demostrates he has no understanding of the core values of football. Look at Germany, Munich still has season tickets for a few hundred euros. They have publically stated that hikes in prices will mean additional revenue but will harm the clubs relationship with its fans. What Radcliffe should be doing is reducing the playing staff who are on high wages, Rashford and Casimero for instance, if sent out the door will save more money in a matter of weeks than hiking kids and pensioners tickets all season.

    If Sir Jim is a true United fan why would he stop people who are capable of wiping and reseting the clubs financial obligations and who are capable of reshaping the greater Manchester area with alot of economic opportunities/growth from buying the club instead he chose to help the Glazers ... And the fans and everybody around the club are suffering.. He is not a true fan.. Just another business man who are preparing to suck the club dry in couple years

    The fans didn’t waste millions on abysmal recruitment, vastly overpay very average players, pay millions to recruit a director of football then millions more to sack him a few months later. The people who made these atrocious decisions should be payng the price, not loyal fans who struggle from day to day to make ends meet.

    People don’t understand this. Because of PSR rules Ratcliffe can’t just throw his own money at it. Just look at Newcastle. So as Jordan says one of the levers to make the club more profitable and generate funds for transfers is to raise revenue I.e. tickets prices. Not saying it’s fair or correct but how else are they gonna improve seeing as past recruitment has been awful. Yes the fans are being asked to dig them out of the hole

    • @KH-xv5gm

      PIF bought Newcastle and we had no debt! Our previous owner didn't spend a penny to Improve our team. PSR got worse when the Saudi bought us. Tbh I'm glad we are doing it the right way instead of buying our way to Improve. Let's not forget the big six brought this all on themselves.
