Fantastic chops, you got all the runs, etc, etc.. Same here, 57, been playing consistently since 19-ish, always gigging steady. The Beatles didn't use a "tuner". They would tune to the piano in the room, and now and again, they weren't 'perfect' with their tuning when tracking. Amazing job!
Your bass is a little sharp but that is likely the recording. Try tuning to A=432 Hz and see if that helps. Recordings were and are often tweaked a few Hz to make it sound better...
Yep ..your fans are right! You're out of tune. Tune to the recording when you play along. Many of the bands on the old recordings tuned lower than 440. On the flip side, being a professional bass player myself, you're chops are really good! Keep up the good work and giving us videos. ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
@@LaurenScheff thanks. There's a couple of other videos on my channel where I've used this Ric as well as tje Fireglo 4003s that I had before. Have a dig around and you'll find them.
I wish that I hadn't said anything, clearly I've opened up a can of worms with so many 'experts' , the track itself appears to be flat, which is not unusual for the Beatles, their tunings vary wildly. DO NOT DELETE THIS VIDEO
My timing is as good as it gets, once I have the timing for a song, I can lock in, no matter when or where. I can tell when I'm a hair off as well. Your on beat hits are on time, but some of your in between notes aren't quite there. Like the notes are right, but missing the feeling that comes with, like you are not quite flowing. Maybe you should consider changing the strings you use or a slight tone adjustment. I don't think you should stop putting these out, or stop playing at all. I commend you for even doing this AND asking for critic. Do not stop doing this, ESPECIALY, if you enjoy it. Chin up. ........................Another note, I'm not crazy about this bass line for this song. it seems a little busy at times for the song, but that is just my opinion. Music is art, enjoy yourself. 👍
Not a bass player but I think most notes dont connect to the song as it is originally. Can you isolate the bass and listen to Macca's playing? Some videos online are beatles bass isolated as a title. Check that out. Plus I think youre playing lead bass here, too much play as the bass is to highlight the others . Just try to set the song with whats needed, too little not good, too much not good either. On another note Sarah, I can only hope to one day play bass!
@@stevejones924 the notes aren't mine, they're Paul McCartney's. This rather busy bass line is what he played on the record; I got it from isolating the original bass track and copying it.
Haha😂.... got a tuner, and I know how to use it too! I presume you either can't tell in tune from out of tune; perhaps you're not a musician at all? Anyway, thanks for your input, but on this occasion you've got it wrong.
@@SarahJonesBass I've been playing music for 51 years bass for about 39 years and I would have to agree you're in tune and the bass line sounds correct. Good job!

I love what you do with this song , beautiful. Good job, keep rocking..
Nice job! And beautiful bass.
The bass is a beauty!
Great Job ❤
Your playing sounds nice, your bass sounds like it's a half step sharp of the recording.

Some notes seem a bit sharp but seem to be more down to 1960.s Macca really.
Never seen a Jet & Gold Rick before, that's a beauty.
Nice playing.
@@wearetomorrowspast.5617 it's a 4004. The Laredos have silver hardware and the Cheyennes have gold. So this is a 4004 cheyenne in Jetglo.
Wow, you’ve actually made a Ricky sound good to me. Great playing

Great playing, yes you’re quite a bit sharp, immediately apparent but Beatles or engineers may have initiated the discrepancy.
Love your ability!

Your bass is sharp (#), i.e. not in tune with the recording. Good percussive tone. Feels "labored" not natural...
yep. youre out of tune
Get a tuner
