What a joke. Of course Putins attack is a horrible mistake, but irony being - its the best case scenario for the West. They dreamed of this for years. They literally wanted this for years and Putin gives it to them. The only thing people fail to realise is that they truly believe the west has an interest to save the ukraine or anything. Nah, Putin is sitting on the same table as the other people. The West provoked this for years and the only reasnobale explanations of why Putin takes that provocation and does exactly what the West wants are either he is a retard, wich is hard to believe looking at the overall history and politics russia did before attacking Ukraine, or he is just in on with them. Playing the bad guy for the public,, while doing just what the West wants.

I don’t want any of you to know what war is, everyone who tries to justify the actions of Russia or Ukraine justifies the war itself, which means they deal a heavy blow to the entire world community. This is one of the moments like 9/11 where you will always know where you were when the war broke out and the moments leading to it. I got the notification in one of my college classes that the Duma gave Putin the ability to send Russian soldiers abroad and at that moment I knew war was imminent. Then the following day I was up late talking with my girlfriend about things that don't even matter when I got the notification that a full scale invasion was underway. That moment really made me reflect on how privileged we really are in America where we don't have to worry about getting invaded outright by our neighbors and how we don't have to live in fear, where all we have to worry about is what we'll eat for dinner and when we want to take a dump. Even if we want to follow Putin's idea, they should not in any case invade Ukraine as it's what separates them from NATO and will of course be seen as a war declaration to whole Europe. I'm afraid the west not wanting another war will just end up like in WWII, where they had to start a war anyway but in a much worse geopolitical situation. Idk, a major Europe capital under siege in 2022 is so unreal. Hope this ends for the best and the Russians finally have a real democratic goverment that cares about them and about human rights, the oligarchs that rule right now are funcking mental.

I'm currently in my a level in a German school in East Germany. And today in my French class as we talked about the conflict and I spoke about the FACT that Russia attacked without any justified reason and on purpose threatens peace in Europe and the world. One Russian girl from my class screams at me in tears I'm lying. She then talked about the "poor kids in Donjezk" and that they are not allowed to go to school ore that they have to hide in bunkers. I looked at hear and said that that is now the reality of all children in Ukraine. She than tells me that Putin "was sitting 1 hour thinking about the call for help from Ukraine", she then said that the people of Russia are mostly antiwar but in the same sentence she then says the opposite that they support the war and Putin is completely right. My good friend then made a joke about asking her on why they elected Putin if they are against him.
To cut it short. I am so sad about this mindset this lack of thoughts and feelings from SOME Russian people.
Me and my friends are praying for Ukraine they don't deserve it to be attacked ore harmed in any way.

As Russian i am really dissapointed the entire situation got to this degree, but to be fair, Russian geopolitics have a point. Our government didn't want Ukraine to join NATO, which was consequential after 2014, because you can compare it with Cuba in 1960ies. But Ukraine wanted the Crimea back, and our countries didn't find an agreement. So after 8 years it just broke out, I think the biggest reason for the war was Zelenskiy's declaration about making a nuke. Anyway, the geopolitic situation is hideous for Russia, and this was, maybe IMHO the best decision, but we can't guess.
About the war itself, i'm soully upset that our relationship got to this level. Shoutings about stopping war won't do anything, as it has already happened, and we had to think about it 8 years ago. Now I just hope the war will stop as soon as possible, with minimal casualties and fair peace.
The biggest thing that scares me is an upcomming hate for the entire Russian people, how no one will look at us with any respect whatsoever, and how all, forthcoming 200m population is going to get povert. A broken friendship of peoples of Russia and Ukraine. I can't just imagine how 8 years ago we have been brothers, and now we hate each other. We are all slavs, and we never had anything against each other. The amount of fake news and polarized news is enormous, everyone talks shit of us. Noone actually understands the whole situation happening in Eastern Europe. There is no right or wrong sides as all sides in this situation are wrong. We have dictatorial Russian government controlled by cleptocratic oligarchs, pro-fascist Urkainian government which supported ultranationalists organisations such as Praviy Sektor (Right Sector) and Bandera supporters (Stepan Bandera was a nazi collaborator in WW2) and violated the Minsk agreements thousands of times and we have Western governments, who want to destabilise Eastern Europe to install their controll over Russian and Urkainian resorses (oil, gas, all that shit).
This conflict could have been prevented back in 2015 if Urkainian government respected the Minsk agreements. But, on the other hand, Russian government did nothing to force Ukraine to actually respect it. The only true victims of this conflict are people of Donbass and Ukraine, who are now have to suffer because of bunch of stupid fucking polititians in Moscow, Kyiv and Washington.
This is a complex conflict with lots of fake news and groups with different interests involved in it so I just ask you not to be stupid thinking that this is just a war between good Ukraine and bad Russia. Please, stay humans even in these hard times.

It is really sad how one of two slavs can be good and another bad just because we were born in two both poorly-developed countries. Peace guys, hope justice will triumph over time

Dude, where did Zelensky say that Ukraine wants to build nukes? Can we have an independent source for that?
Ukraine is, even in comparison to Russia, a piss poor country, they just lack the money to properly fund and run a nuclear program, that could even remotely become dangerous to Russia.
That is also one of the reasons they gave up their inherited nukes to Russia in the 90's in the first place: They didn't have the Know How how to deal with nuclear weapons and they didn't have the money to afford their upkeep.
And NATO is no threat to anyone, especially not the Russian People.
We're direct neighbors since 2004 to Russia.
Kaliningrad is literally, on the landside, surrounded by NATO countries.
Did we ever invade you since then or made threats like that? Did we park huge armies in eastern European Countries or did we train offensive maneuvers, were troops drill the invasion of Russia? No we didn't do anything of that.
And ask e.g. Switzerland, except for Austria and Liechtenstein, they're also surrounded by NATO countries.
Do they feel threatened? Not in the slightest, although Switzerland is neutral and neither part of EU nor NATO, we're on at least friendly, if not very friendly terms with them.
NATO is only for dictators a threat who either plan to attack a NATO country or who commit genocides without having the international "get out of Den Hague"-card known as a nuclear weapons arsenal.
For real, if tomorrow Putin would decide to massacre all the Chechenyians for racial reasons in concentration camps, many country would start sanctioning Russia, but they wouldn't invade it. Why? Because Russia has the largest nuclear arsenal of the world, you guys could nuke the entire world multiple times, if you wanted to.
And Ukraine itself was maintaining a neutral position, the attack on them on 2014 made them give up neutrality and push joining NATO. And of cause they made plans to get e.g. Crimea back this way or the other, but having a plan is something totally different to actually executing it.
Pls don't fall for the paranoid, lying propaganda of Putin and his regime, that drives you and your western neighbors apart, that allows Putin to stay in power.
Join the other russian anti-war protesters. Only the Russian people themselves can overthrow Putin and implement a resilient, steady democracy in Russia, that would retreat all the troops out of Ukraine, including Crimea and Donbas and reestablish peaceful and maybe some day even friendly relationshops with their neighbors.
And don't panic: I think, the large majority of the people in Ukraine and in the West can differentiate between Putin and his cronies on one hand and the common Russian people on the other.
I believe you and other Russians, when you state, that you didn't want a war against your Ukrainian Brothers and Sisters. But complaining on the internet is not enough, you must act upon it, take to the streets, participate in mass protests to big for the police or the National Guard to suppress, overthrow the Putin Regime, retreat the troops and reach a peaceful end to this madness of Putin!

@@MagiconIce "Президент Украины Владимир Зеленский заявил на Мюнхенской конференции по безопасности о возможности его страны вернуться к созданию ядерного оружия" search it up, as I can't upload links and you will find information about nukes, you are interested in
and no, it was a possibility to create a dirty nuke, there is at least base in Ukraine, such as Chernobyl. I don't know how did they plan on getting nukes, but the fact is a fact
Geopolitics is a thing, and it can't be denied. From its point there is only 3 powers in the world: NATO, Russia and China. None of the above want to have enemy's bases near the border. It is just obvious, you can look at Carribean crisis for example. Of course our alliances didn't invade each other, we all would doom us in nukes. Pretty much you can look at the world like chess, where you develop your pieces to get the best position to initiate an all-out attack. If you manage to take down all missile silos and anti-air faster, that their missiles reach you, it is guaranteed win. That's why countries want to get bases near the main enemy. Also it is a good places to deploy spies, cybernetic attacks ect., just because it is closer. You can manage trade, if you have more allies and much more. Just because nothing has been happening in NATO for 20 years means, that they didn't see Russia as a potential enemy, which is pretty obvious at current time.
You can't deny that Putin restored Russia from absolute poverty, it is a fact. He never ever did any genocide, unlike in Ukraine. If you don't know anything about genocide in eastern Europe since 2014, then either research it, or don't mention. Horrible things happened after Maidan in Ukraine against russians, though no impact on western society. And now we see this one-sided anti-russian propaganda, because Russia is destabilising an advantageous for NATO geopolitical position. Of course Putin is receiving cricisism for anything he did or didn't. No matter how much I want to see an absolute objective look of the situation, I will route for my country in this confrontation, I am sorry for that. But the fact is a fact - Putin is no murderer, I know he is not racist or anything, and that all these civilian bombardment is provoked by Ukrainian military techs.
In Russia it is hugely unlike west, protests don't really mean anything, as police is working its best to stop the rallies. Even the web is controlled lol. No revolution happening any time soon.
I'm pretty resigned, that we would be outcasters for hopefully just couple of months. Most of Ukrainians are tired of this nonsence happening for 8 years straight, and lot of them have bad education, so a lot will hate all the Russians without basis. That's sad, but I still hope this war won't humiliate our countries too much.
I'm really glad to see such an optimistic opinion, but sometimes you just have to be more realistic, especially when it touches your nation. Love from Russia bro

Hey Markoni, this is completely unrelated, but I need your help! There is this song that Tommy uses often in his esports streams/videos to get people hyped, like the hoi4 international. It sounds like a bunch of football fans singing (though there are no actual lyrics, just tu tu tu and hey hey hey). I recently heard it at a party here in Belgium and was very confused, now I need to know!!
