What's amazing to me is, I've been watching a lot of these M.M.C. clips on RUclips back to back and in the comments, no one ever mentions these super gifted musicians that are making the singer sound as gifted as they are. Also from what I'm hearing, the singers are very good but without the musicians, they're like cornflake without the milk, they both compliment one another so, lets hear some names of these super bad musicians like for one, bassman Allen Golden. Who else is there? help me out!
There was also Jerry Smith at the piano, Keith Brown on the guitar, and Brian Williams (not to be confused with the TV personality) on the drums, just to name a few.
Mississippi mass is the best out. There. No questio

That's what's UP!

This song was played often when I was a small child. Thank God it was, cuz that always stayed in my spirit as a time for celebration.
It wasn't the nails that held him to the cross, He could have come down but my soul would still be lost. The ransom was so high that only he could pay the cost. It wasn't the nails that held him to the cross.

Now, THIS is gospel music! No flashy outfits, no smoke everywhere, no secular dancing, just straight up , flat foot, praising of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Yes!
Great song!!!!!❤
I ❤ this song. I get teary eyed because this was one of the songs my good friend and church member La Juanda R. used to sing back in the day! May she rest in peace now and forever. She had been sick for a long time!
We still sing the praises of God and we still lift up the name of Jesus Christ, but there's something about the mass choirs that brought a special energy to our praise!!! Yes, MMC and their musicians were a powerhouse in gospel music. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We also thank the youtube and other digital services that preserve this music.

Like I heard someone else say once, I think I'm a black woman trapped in a white woman's body, LOL, cause I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Mississippi Mass Choir!!! I Love the rhythm, the runs especially the spirit in which they sing! I have heard some men & women of other denominations who have that rhythm in their voices but unfortunately I ain't one of them & I do sing. Blessings to All this Easter & every day! 🙏✝🙌❤
Just keep on singing no matter what you look like. I am a black women and i sing with a many White women and we teach each other songs and I love it God has brought us us together and I thank god .! I
I remember when I was singing n the church choir I used to lead this song
YES! Praise the Name of Jesus.
That lead singer in the robe reminds me so much of my late brother. He could hardly keep his feet on the floor when spreading the good news through song. His rhythm wasn't the best but he could make a believer of you. There is nothing like a powerful man of God willing to spread the good news. How I miss the Hawkins brothers.
It's December 17, 2022 and yes it's still relevant and powerful today and always will be.. it wasn't the nails that held Him to the cross. The knowledge of this makes me cry every time. Thank you Jesus.
A very very feel good song... yes!!!
This really brings back memories
I have this album on cassette tape. Now that's ole school.
Praise god in these end times !!!!
Yes Lord, it wasn't the nails!
By his Stripes we are healed...
Only he can could pay the cause. You gotta love that. From the days gone by the Mississippi Mass choir. Love it.
Not being mean but it is only "he could pay the cost" meaning the cost of our sins.
It was the Love that held him to the cross...He has Risen April 12th, 2020, thank you Jesus for your sacrifice and love for us.
