Thanks to this legend of a guy, I now have malfescence, he wiped the enemy team for me, something I could never do myself, I did 20 plus games hoping someone else would do it for me but it only happened once, this man did it in 2 games, absolute legend, very much appreciated
i wish i watched all the way through at first to see that he was offering help on the quest... that's super nice of him after already providing this clear and well made guide that helped me get malf
As an added point, for the team wipe requirement I used a warlock with nezerac sin and graviton lance to build up my strand super and basically any LMG you like will work, but I used the one from the Deep Stone Crypt raid with no particular roll. Just make sure you run with backup mag as I actually preferred the extra bullets over recoil control as the thing basically doesn't have any
Good points! Supers help a ton when wiping whole squads, Hunters Golden gun is pretty much a guarantee 4 man wipe and LMGs are definitely the way to go when invading
My #1 gun in the game. It’s the only reason why I play Destiny still. Sounds crazy but it’s true. I never took this gun off since forsaken and I reached 1 million kills with it. Also, this is the only gun I could ever drop 1,000+ kills with in a single game of Onslaught. It’s disgustingly good.
@@beylac4296 Honestly it’s the exotic arms for the Warlock Ophidian Aspect. The instant reloads and fast aiming speed. I just cook with the gun. That’s all tbh. Only way to really prove it is to run a game with you.
if anyones struggling with soloing step 3, you can hide behind the giant rock where the burned in corpses marker is, focus down the wizards and the adds first, you can continually get the boss stuck and shoot him in the head, by popping around the left side, just make sure to avoid the shield push, polaris lance worked wonders for making that quicker, still a slog, but cheesed it successfully.

Yeah it will be a miracle if i ever got my hands on it cause i have never done gambit/ don't play enough to have skills good enough for gambit and i don't have any good build to run it at all. So i don't see myself ever getting it but you got a sub from me, love the content you do while helping ppl out
Thank you for the guide man, I think the painful part is going to be the 4 Kill Invade one, knowing my uck in the past with Gambit, I always get heavy on with tracking rockets every time I invade or everyone hides.
For the Gambit invasion I put on Actium War Rig and Thunderlord, got a 4 kill on the first try. By the time I got the 25 total invasion kills I had 7 kills for the match. I never really bothered invading before this quest 😂
2:02 If you get a friend to do it with you, there is a rock for one of the players to hide behind, and they will only have to kill one wizard. Edit. Its the big rock with the silhouette on it
I had great RNG for the catalyst. Finally completed the quest and then got the catalyst to drop on my first nightfall run while using the weapon. Of course I know I’ve used up quite a bit of my D2 RNG luck doing so.
Just did my quest from banking motes to killing 4 guardians in one invasion i took commemoration lmg and got 5 kills in one invasion oh and also izanagi's burden i hate every second of doing this quest coz I don't like Gambit The hand canon was totally worth it tho it's melting champs in nightfall
Yeah most machineguns are viable here for the invade, the other day I was helping someone complete this and ended up getting 20 kills with xenophage in one game 😅
Really hope there is a way to get it outside of this quest. That last step of gambit having to kill 4 invaders is gonna be way too frustrating to even make it worth it.
Only part of this quest I'm stuck on is the getting Guardian kills, which pisses me off because I have no problem getting that many in the Crucible but when it comes to Gambit my ability to kill other players seemingly takes a holiday :P
Malfeasance is ma boi, funny story is I got the gun, spent over a year farming for the catalyst which never dropped. Gave up with Destiny for a time and after that time off the game for the last couple of years just to return and find it sat in the postmaster storage? I quit all over again...
I wish there was a tracker for mission attempts. Pretty sure I've failed the corrupted mission at least 50 times solo, if not more . Dragged my son along for the ride one day and he got fed up after about 2 hours of getting our butts kicked. I can't wait to get to the gambit parts. Should be much easier. Gonna have to adjust my play though since I'm always dead set on that 15 mote deposit.
I’m lost on the mission lost in the dark for some reason I don’t know what to do. I kill the bosses and I and after that I go to the home area when you have to throw the ball at the minute, I’m stuck on that part and it’s just too hard.
It honestly wasn't as bad to get as I thought it would be, I also got super lucky because I went to test it in the crucible straight after I unlocked it and got the catalyst first game
Finally got it. I was struggling with the last part. (Get kills as an invader) I went Arc Warlock w/ full Super, Getaway Artist, and Thunderlord. Wiped the opposing team haha
@@xhazzax5072 That's awesome! You don't need to use Malfeasance for the catalyst to drop, you can use whatever guns you want, it's a random drop so you never know how long it'll take. The fastest way to get it is to spam Crucible/Gambit games.

Guys someone please help, I’m pretty much done with the 2nd step but looking at the third and how it requires you to do a variant of the corrupted strike is worrying me, at the moment that strike requires you to have the forsaken pack, will it stay like that and I just have to spend a lil money ig, or does something happen when I actually get to the third step
I've been stuck on step 2 for weeks now and can't figure it out. I do not own the Forsaken pack, however, bungie has given this quest to everyone. I have tried killing taken in strikes, lost sectors, secret bosses, you name it. It just taunts me with its 0/25 Boss kills. I have tried deleting it and picking it up again. I've clearly restarted my game multiple times since its spanned weeks. Does the quest no longer progress unless they are taken from the dungeon? The blind well doesn't even work.
Hey just got back into the game recently and have been working on catalysts for exotics I have do I have to use malfeasance in the Playlist activities to have a higher drop chance for its catalyst or will it not affect it either way
I've been grinding away at step 6 of this quest for far too long... I've looked at all the tips people have given, I've tried so many things, and I've ALMOST gotten it so many times... I almost had it two games ago, but my team ended the game before I could secure the final kill. I was so devastated. About ready to give up at this point, no weapon is worth this much pain
Biggest tip I can give you, aside from all the obvious ones like using Xenophage, Thunderlord or any good weapon and a good Super such as Golden Gun... would be to not chase the 4th guy if he is hiding or too far away after killing 3 of them, it's better to wait for them to respawn and kill them again.
@@Treymanblok I've heard that it has to be all four uniquely, can't be respawns- But if that's true that might work, just the issue of not having enough time for them to respawn and kill them again. I've had the best luck with colony and needlestorm, but... It's still a gamble if it even works out. I may just have to rely on the ally version of it, I have 1/3 of that. I just hardly see an ally do it EDIT: Scratch that, I managed to make it work with needlestorm and colony. It was a very lucky moment of them all being grouped for the primeval's wizards...
Check the Quest Archive in the tower, it might be in there in the exotics tab or in the abandoned quests tab. Also you do need Forsaken to get the quest, back in the day you could get it for free but they changed it again.

Doing helps in my discord and also the biggest tip I can give you is after killing 3 enemies, if the 4th one is hiding or he is really far away then don't bother chasing him, simply wait for the other guys to respawn and kill one of them again.
I assume that you can, as they specifically stated that it was free now and anyone can do it without forsaken. However, there is a bug that I’m experiencing where I started the quest when forsaken was f2p for a short period of time before witch queen (I believe) released but never finished it. And because of that I cannot access the variant of The Corrupted or acquire it on any of my other characters without forsaken
RRG would refer to 100 to a million runs.. Just remember the catalyst loot pool you are aware that there are multiple catalysts for different exotics.. You would have a higher chance to get the mal catalyst to drop If you have nearly all of the catalysts already collected.. Example a new player may take a year just to get that particular catalyst.. The way you said it in your video you make it sound like it's a guarantee! I mean you literally spent 2 minutes talking about how to level up a catalyst😂
It's ''RNG'' and you got it all wrong. Because a new player is barely going to have any Exotic weapons unlocked in the first place, not to mention ones that even HAVE a catalyst. Meaning that the chances of them getting the Malf catalyst are extremely high, since it'll be like the only one that can drop for them. Literally on my brand new account that I made last week I got the catalyst on my FIRST Crucible game... Also I explained What the catalyst does, how to obtain it & the best ways to complete in less than 50 seconds Trolls like you make my day better every single time I see a comment like this, thanks! 😂
I started playing during season of the witch and I have 54 exotic weapons and only 10 of them aren't masterworked and out of those 10 there's only 3 or 4 that I still need the catalyst to drop.
Mostly just strikes and nightfalls to be honest aside from the few that are crucible specific. I do have 821 hours on game though according to Sony. I've definitely passed out and just been trolling around the tower for a portion of those hours though. I don't spend much time in competitive due to the wait times to get into a match. Not sure if it's my less than stellar internet or what but the time sink of waiting to load turned me off. I played enough to get the crucible questline done up to the point where you need to upgrade your division and then season changed and I didn't feel like burning that much time on it again. I put some time into banner when it comes around though.

@@akaromulus5709 No, I’m a Warlock main. I use Ophidian Aspect. It’s insane. I use lucky pants on my Hunter from time to time though.

Oh for sure! Thunderlord is also absolutely amazing for Invades, so is Ghorn and even Xenophage.
Thunderlord is how I got my invade team wipe and kills as well, I have a newfound respect for it now lol

Usually with two people you shouldn't have any issues doing this but that's really good to know just in case!

Btw anyone farming the second step do the dungeon and used the wish ender bow if you have it it makes it so easy

ok i just got really lucky after watching and deciding to try crucible i lost twice and got both thorn and malfeasance catalyst
i feel like this is the only exotic quest that would NOT be missed if it was sunset

No, you don't have to use or have the weapon equipped for the catalyst to drop.

It may be a bit cheap… but homing rockets worked for me.
Sure it’s a bit of a slog, picking off 1 at a time, but it does work.

You need to own the Forsaken DLC. Like you have to buy it, the quest was initially free then it became locked behind a paywall.

I think grandmaster is a 2x multiplier, not a 1.2x multiplier. May not get the same results on grandmaster champions.

Doing helps in my discord and also the biggest tip I can give you is after killing 3 enemies, if the 4th one is hiding or he is really far away then don't bother chasing him, simply wait for the other guys to respawn and kill one of them again.

Have you checked the Quest Archive in the tower? That's the last possible place where it could be

It’s there now. I had the catalyst but the gun itself was not showing up even in my inventory. It’s in my inventory again.

I assume that you can, as they specifically stated that it was free now and anyone can do it without forsaken. However, there is a bug that I’m experiencing where I started the quest when forsaken was f2p for a short period of time before witch queen (I believe) released but never finished it. And because of that I cannot access the variant of The Corrupted or acquire it on any of my other characters without forsaken

RRG would refer to 100 to a million runs.. Just remember the catalyst loot pool you are aware that there are multiple catalysts for different exotics.. You would have a higher chance to get the mal catalyst to drop If you have nearly all of the catalysts already collected.. Example a new player may take a year just to get that particular catalyst.. The way you said it in your video you make it sound like it's a guarantee! I mean you literally spent 2 minutes talking about how to level up a catalyst😂
It's ''RNG'' and you got it all wrong. Because a new player is barely going to have any Exotic weapons unlocked in the first place, not to mention ones that even HAVE a catalyst. Meaning that the chances of them getting the Malf catalyst are extremely high, since it'll be like the only one that can drop for them.
Literally on my brand new account that I made last week I got the catalyst on my FIRST Crucible game...

@Treymanblok catalysts can be farmed very effectively in the comp playlist now. It's so much better than it use to be.
I started playing during season of the witch and I have 54 exotic weapons and only 10 of them aren't masterworked and out of those 10 there's only 3 or 4 that I still need the catalyst to drop.

Mostly just strikes and nightfalls to be honest aside from the few that are crucible specific. I do have 821 hours on game though according to Sony. I've definitely passed out and just been trolling around the tower for a portion of those hours though.
I don't spend much time in competitive due to the wait times to get into a match. Not sure if it's my less than stellar internet or what but the time sink of waiting to load turned me off. I played enough to get the crucible questline done up to the point where you need to upgrade your division and then season changed and I didn't feel like burning that much time on it again. I put some time into banner when it comes around though.
