Great footage from Poland. Warsaw and Krakow look very interesting. Central Europe is the tourist hub of the future. Rich in culture and beautiful nature.

Krakow was the traditional capital of the Kingdom of Poland, whereas Vilnius was the capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. With the establishment of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth Warsaw, essentially midway between Krakow and Vilnius, because the subsequent capital. Lithuanian Grand Duke Jogaila (later King Wladislaw Jagiello II of Poland) and his first cousin Grand Duke Vytautas (Witold in Polish) were both grandsons of Grand Duke Gediminas, the 'founder' of the Lithuanian Capital Vilnius (Wilno in Polish).

When I was in Warsaw 5 years ago, I absolutley HAD to go to the zoo because of its unique history! Did you ever read "The Zookeeper's Wife" or did you see the movie? It is an incredible story of how the zookeepers smuggled the Jews out of the ghetto during World War II and hid them In their home on the grounds of the Warsaw Zoo, and sometimes even empty animal cages. The Nazis had killed many of the animals and used them for target practice even. It is a must-read if you have been to the Warsaw Zoo. It is much different walking about that zoo if you realize what had happened there.

@@nextstopevwhere the book was based on the journal of the zookeepers wife, and also the interviews of the son that grew up there. Their house is on the grounds of the zoo, but it wasn't open for tours the day that I was there.

well done video, and good promotion of the most underrated -and by the way most exciting City ! - in Europe. You just had an overlook of it. Next time pay a visit to Browary warszawskie / Artnorblin /Varso Tower (230 high terrace) -all projects which will be completed next year -, rooftop of the Bibliotek, Hala Koszyki, Elektrownia Powisle (recently opened), Praski Koneser square (opened 2 years ago), Park Lazienki…..….and many other places ! incredible dynamic City, no comparable to any other one, due to its (tragical) History, a mix of many styles, one can just love it !

@@nextstopevwhere sure ! you can already have a look to those amazing projects; the district of Wola is currently the most developing part of City, and will soon get the new "place to be" ! have a look by the way to the unic and incredible "Fotoplastikon", it's not very known, but very specific; anyway you can get all information on the net; get also a look to polish gastronomy, so tasting !

Warsaw wasn't just bombed during the war.It was systematically razed - building by building - by specialized demolition squads as retaliation for uprising in 1944 - after killing or expelling all inhabitants.
