We had a 1983 1.8 manual sedan version of this. Fantastic vehicle. HEAPS of torque and a very tall 5th gear meant easy highway cruising. A brilliant car!
Sold so many of these in the early 90’s. In those days, primary producers got tax exemption on 4x4 utes. You’d get a phone call on a Monday, junior is getting his license can you send out a brumby?
Back in the early 80’s whilst looking for my then stolen EH Premier in the local bush, I go bogged in a little Mazda Bongo van. Along came a farmer in his Brumby & pulled me out!🤣 I know a local guy here in Bendigo where I live who now own his late father in laws Brumby. Red of course.😎👍🏼
"agricultural" Yup. And as he said, that's oart of the appeal. I do wish mine had power steering, though. Great little do it all utes, with a surprisingly decently sized tub.
My retired farmer grandfather bought one when they were rare way back in 1980, then died a few months later. A full decade later my brother and I took it all the way to Darwin and back. No A/C, no cruise control, just a 4 speed no overdrive and it didn't miss a beat.
Thanks to Mighty Car Mods for bringing this little beauty back in the spotlight 😊
Especially LJ74's hirochi rush mod for BeamNG
Shi I just realized you were talking about a RUclips channel

There is no doubt that a small Ute will still have a market in Australia.
Your move Subaru.
Seriously. Why if you want a tray now do you have to buy a dual cab American bohemouth?

Wonderful cars! Like everyone else I, too, wish Subaru would start making these once again.

Thanks MCM! Yes pls revive with a ej25 turbo!
It’s a pity Subaru have lost their way so badly over the past 15 - 20 years…

Can't understand why they dropped that line of utes
Subaru not what it used to be😮
They're a 1.8, not a 1.6
