Well, it’s true many people grew up watching the version of Pinocchio from the Disney animated movie. But surprisingly Pinocchio existed long before any of those movies ever existed. Pinocchio was a book that was a lot darker than the Disney film. We’ve come to know and love… or at least one of them. Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio stays true to the dark themes of the old book. And in my eyes, it is the best adaptation of Pinocchio by far. Sorry Disney, you can’t win them all. But like Guillermo Del Toro said “ either you make the story the way it needs to be tall or it’s just as good as not making it” and the latest Disney film of Pinocchio was an epic disaster. It did not need to exist!
Oh God, never watched the live action remake but the blue fairy's wings are freaking haunting… they are like alien tentacles… And I don't think it's right to call Disney's version original…
In Del Toro he chose to give up immortality to save his father, in the end it was the spirit the father fell in love with not if he was a human. The spirit of his dead child. If Geppeto was given a "real boy" then he'd be a monster for only caring about if he was flesh and bones, so by that logic- Pinocchio will never be good enough. Yes Pinocchio died saving his father. Think of it like wanting a specific race and gender of a kid, if the parents don't get what they want vs learning to love and care they're a disgusting parasite.
its not suppose to look like the Disney version since it is based off of the fable. Del toro's is more accurate to that fable, plus actual human emotions are in this one not just sunshine and rainbows throughout the whole film. coming back to the fable Pinocchio was a brat who got in trouble a lot, but he got better and more likable in the end or smth idk haven't read the fable in years. So no, it is not a copy. Edit: also del toro's Pinocchio was in the process before the remake was in process, still not a copy.
Remaster Disney: The corpse dancing under the influence of electricity for the amusement of the public like a puppet. Adaptation by Guillermo Del Toro: The real Creature of Frankenstein, whose story you are actually interested in watching and talking about it.
And Disney's is the COPY of the ORIGINAL NOVEL by Colloti. Disney did NOT create Pinocchio! In the original novel BTW Pinocchio even kills the cricket, that's how dark it is.
And Pinocchio died twice on the book, Del Toro take that plot hole to put that he would never really die because he not supposed to be alive on the first time
Just by looking at the comments, I can already tell that this video is derailed and burning. If you seriously still think Disney has any actual respect to its stories now, especially over someone who whittled for years to make an artistic masterpiece, there is no way I could back you up. Del Toro’s story made me feel legit joy and sadness, while the new Disney one just made me feel dead inside.
I actually like Del Torre’s far more than Disneys live action since Disneys is soulless and the CGI is not good. Del Torre’s is a masterpiece and it is so amazing with character development and the stop motion is beautiful. Loved it 10/10 film for me, um just saying
Maybe u should do you research on what the story of Pinocchio is first before fueling the fires Del Toro's version is his own adaptation of the source material, whilst Disney's latest is a modern remake of they're older, more child-friendly version. If anything, the Disney 22 film is the copy, not Del Toro's. Both adaptations exist outside of the true original story, that u also didn't consider. Don't make points for click bait whilst not factoring in things behind the curtain kids
actually the 1940 disney's pinocchio wasn't the original, the two movies were based of a book. And the original book was way darker in the story, so del toro's pinocchio is actually way more accurate compared to both disney's pinocchio movies.
u can’t claim about every copy of Pinocchio, they are many types of those movies,so far Del toro’s is the best,it tells and describes it like many movies do.
None of these movies were good. The only movie that ment sense was PINOCCHIO a true story Because it was about a guy wooden boy who want to leave to be on his owwwn
Whoever copied Disney is Disney himself with his new version, and honestly it was not a good copy, Pinocchio del Toro, like Disney's Pinocchio, are 2 more than dozens of adaptations of the original book by Carlo Collodi, each adaptation is a different one way to tell us the story, each one chooses the version that they enjoy the most and love as their favorite, if you love the Disney version you will have your reasons of the heart as well as others have their reasons for loving this adaptation or others
You do realize Disney's version isn't the original? Not only that but there can be multiple versions of movies with huge differences, Del Toro's Pinocchio was in development for 10 years so I'm not sure why they would spend that much time on copying Disney's 💀 please do research
With Gepetto's backstory, The Disney one makes a backstory for him, only showing a picture of his son, unlike Del Toro's (superior) showed a full backstory so we could feel his sadness and guilt. Edit: Also with When You Wish Upon A Star...that's Disney's song. Not Del Toro's.
Pinocchio is a public-domain story that's been adapted over time and allowing different directors to make their interpretations. Both Disney and Guillermo Del Toro have their distinct retelling of the classic Italian fairy tale. There's no such thing as either one being original or the copy. The only copycats that exist are the mockbusters made to copy Disney's interpretation which Del Toro is not.
Actually, on the video never mentioned the book, it looks like they really thinks that the original is Disney's, they also said that the Del Toro doesn't had the songs from Disney's
interesting that this channel tries to affect the viewer's opinion. he highlights negative moments in Toro's film. some Americans don't realize that most of their stories are from other countries.
Best of all : Carlo Collodi original tale is the Best. Disney's 1940 Pinocchio is an enchanting movie BUT ...Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio is a MASTERPIECE from this moment on. Sorry Disney, years of shitty material ( when Disney betrayed Disney Soul with this woke movement and New animated movies with no sense ) makes me take my own choice.
The stop motion is more violent. He almost dies and the of course the eyes. The monkey is good towards the end , which is Pinocchio's best friend. At the end it shows three graves and Pinocchio knows better now
yeah it is more violent because the original pinocchio was this way, both disney's version of pinocchio aren't that accurate to the original story, wich was really darker.

Its TheThingsAnimated what did you expect
deltoro's pinocchio is a masterpiece. Voice actors are great and perfectly fit for the characters
When the copy is better than the “original”
When the “copy” isn’t even a copy, and is a masterful interpretation of the original book that took 15 years to make:
Better 👍👍
Oh God, never watched the live action remake but the blue fairy's wings are freaking haunting… they are like alien tentacles…
And I don't think it's right to call Disney's version original…
clicked this video just to dislike it immediately for the thumbnail lol

“Disney Pinocchio: original”
*laughing in Carlo Collodi’s Pinocchio*
*laughing in Carlo Collodi’s Pinocchio with you*
Originali vs Copy? Seriously? Pinocchio Is a story of Carlo Collodi.
Pinocchio isn't owned by Disney...
Exactly, it’s public domain, so there’s no such thing as a “cOpY” for Pinocchio
@@noturboi909Well, Disney is a copy since the original is from an Italian book
@@NoName-hg6cc Like i said, none of em are since pinocchio is public domain
@@noturboi909 As I said, Pinocchio is originally an Italian book. The rest are copies
@@NoName-hg6cc it isn’t tho since it’s public domain, a copy would imply copyright infringement, however, this isn’t the case
I like the storyline Del Toro's
Del Toro has actually had this idea for 14 years. I’m willing to bet that Disney hasn’t had the idea for a live action Pinocchio for that long.
The lion, the witch, and for calling del toros a copy the audacity of this bi-
Coming out this summer
I still prefer the Netflix version since it made me cried when i see Pinocchio became a real boy to save his father, a true movie you must watch
nawbro live adaption bad
@@Theboredgod live action be bad, lol true,
In Del Toro he chose to give up immortality to save his father, in the end it was the spirit the father fell in love with not if he was a human.
This is Disney trying to convince you his version is better.. it's not.
And Disney's is the COPY of the ORIGINAL NOVEL by Colloti.
Disney did NOT create Pinocchio! In the original novel BTW Pinocchio even kills the cricket, that's how dark it is.
And Pinocchio died twice on the book, Del Toro take that plot hole to put that he would never really die because he not supposed to be alive on the first time
i mean to be fair he does it on accident
This video is stanning for the wrong movie 😂
Del Toros Pinocchio is more realistic it talks about life and death but in the Disney version who the hell calls their dad father?💀
idk people from late 1800’s and people who act “professional” lol
Sad thumbnail. That’s just sad.
You said that was copy yah right that why they won Oscar 😼❤️🔥
Disney's Blue Fairy in the Pinocchio remake is far more likely to give me NIGHTMARES than Del Toro's, to be honest!
Stop saying facts
there is no copying
Pinocchio himself was NEVER owned ny Disney
It's a FAIRYTALE
Well obviously when you wish upon a star wouldn’t show up in Del Toro’s version, it’s Disney specific
Disney: he does the same thing that I do
Del Toro: but better
I would really love to see the dislike ratio lmao

I actually like Del Torre’s far more than Disneys live action since Disneys is soulless and the CGI is not good. Del Torre’s is a masterpiece and it is so amazing with character development and the stop motion is beautiful. Loved it 10/10 film for me, um just saying
Maybe u should do you research on what the story of Pinocchio is first before fueling the fires
Del Toro's version is his own adaptation of the source material, whilst Disney's latest is a modern remake of they're older, more child-friendly version. If anything, the Disney 22 film is the copy, not Del Toro's.
Both adaptations exist outside of the true original story, that u also didn't consider.
Don't make points for click bait whilst not factoring in things behind the curtain kids
1940 Disney’s Pinocchio walked so 2022 Del Toro’s Pinocchio could run. It’s that good.
actually the 1940 disney's pinocchio wasn't the original, the two movies were based of a book. And the original book was way darker in the story, so del toro's pinocchio is actually way more accurate compared to both disney's pinocchio movies.
@@SaruuPro I know, I just mean I think they’re the best Pinocchio adaptations.
@@elsakristina2689 they're the only adaptations that matter in my opinion

u can’t claim about every copy of Pinocchio, they are many types of those movies,so far Del toro’s is the best,it tells and describes it like many movies do.
The thumbnail is so wrong…
None of these movies were good.
The only movie that ment sense was PINOCCHIO a true story
Because it was about a guy wooden boy who want to leave to be on his owwwn
He had the whole world to see

That thumbnail hurts me.
Polite way to say "get fucked, informed and Del Toro is POG."
You do realize Disney's version isn't the original? Not only that but there can be multiple versions of movies with huge differences, Del Toro's Pinocchio was in development for 10 years so I'm not sure why they would spend that much time on copying Disney's 💀 please do research
What about the sea monster in both versions?
Why would you even call del toro’s Pinocchio a copy? The story is reused loads of times, It’s even meant to be more based on the book.
The Disney movie is not the "original" story. The version of Guillermo del Toro is not a copy it is a great adaptation of the actual italian story.
I almost died of cancer
With Gepetto's backstory, The Disney one makes a backstory for him, only showing a picture of his son, unlike Del Toro's (superior) showed a full backstory so we could feel his sadness and guilt.
Edit: Also with When You Wish Upon A Star...that's Disney's song. Not Del Toro's.
We're in a day and age when a "Copy" is so much better then the Original
It's been two days but the ratio of likes to views is hilarious
Pinocchio is a public-domain story that's been adapted over time and allowing different directors to make their interpretations. Both Disney and Guillermo Del Toro have their distinct retelling of the classic Italian fairy tale. There's no such thing as either one being original or the copy. The only copycats that exist are the mockbusters made to copy Disney's interpretation which Del Toro is not.
I know the thumbnail is clickbait so I won’t give you the pleasure of watching the video.
Actually, on the video never mentioned the book, it looks like they really thinks that the original is Disney's, they also said that the Del Toro doesn't had the songs from Disney's
It is not a copy. The original story was written by an Italian who died in 1890
clickbait thumbnail 🙄
interesting that this channel tries to affect the viewer's opinion. he highlights negative moments in Toro's film. some Americans don't realize that most of their stories are from other countries.
Best of all : Carlo Collodi original tale is the Best. Disney's 1940 Pinocchio is an enchanting movie BUT ...Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio is a MASTERPIECE from this moment on.
Sorry Disney, years of shitty material ( when Disney betrayed Disney Soul with this woke movement and New animated movies with no sense ) makes me take my own choice.
thank you !! i agree that the novel is the best, i think ive read it at least 10 times.
You mean, "Disney's version and Del toro's version." Deltoro's version is literally a masterpiece. The whole production is amazing.
It’s not a copy and the Disney one isn’t the original
It’s not a copy. They both got it from a public domain story.
The thumbnail makes no sense considering Del Toro’s was in the works way before Disney’s crappy remake that took 7 months to make
Disney is not the original
I love how everyone hates the thumbnail
Don't forget Monstro and the Dogfish
