Surfed some hollow powerful slightly overhead waves and it was a menace. Recoil gave me 6 stitches. That was after nearly taking me out three times before that. Feels great in weak, small waves
That's such a bummer bro, sorry to hear that. We surfed it in smaller waves and loved it, hopefully, they'll come out with a better wave version soon, FCS recommends the 6 footer for small to medium size waves. Thanks for the feedback!
REAL Watersports The waves I was riding were powerful but it definitely wasn’t big. I would of only said it was 3 foot plus. 6 to 7 foot faces. Was breaking in pretty shallow water though causing the leash to stretch to capacity. These leashes stretch way more then an average leash, therefore it springs back at you with a lot more force. I won’t use mine in anything over 2 foot again, if I ever use it at all
@@richardembery For sure man, we have had a lot of our guys using them in the smaller summer sets and really enjoyed them. I wouldn't scrap it yet, give it some use in less powerful surf and it'll win you back!
That’s sucks man stitches are no fun! I just picked up this leash today and your experience worried me but I’m not planning to use it in surf over about 5’. I bought it for my grovel board, anything 6’+ I use my step up board with a full size leash. Good to know though that pushing this thing over it’s recommended 5’ max can have dangerous results.
Good on them for thinking of this huge tweaks to the standard leash
Great review, thanks!
finally an improved leash design

Will this be ok for a 6"2 board?
