Great video overview and filming of the ship. It was helpful. Thanks!

While I love the Oasis class I do think there is always a place for the old classic ships. The last one I was on was in Empress of the Seas in 2017 to Cuba. It was my favorite cruise of all times! It would be nice to see these ships updated maybe it will keep the prices from getting higher. For the record I am old and tired too 😜

RCL is talking about the Discovery class to replace the Vision class. The Vision is about 30 years old. At this stage RCL will get more bang for their buck by using new technology on a new vessel. The Vision and similar aged ships can not be renovated effectively inexpensively. Of course there are the cosmetic things you see but the bigger picture are the big ticket items such as equipment in the engine and engine control room, the galley, the laundry room and the elevators.
I suspect you have never taken a behind the scenes tour on the Vision as seeing what the Vision crew has to work with would answer your question. Kind of like an old car you have to trade in..it has memories for you but it is just an old car to the dealer or person you are trying to sell it to. All in all, I would love a Vision sized ship with modern amenities and technology.

I think the title is a tittle is a little misleading. The ship itself seems fine not a nightmare at all?

My wife and I prefer the smaller cruise ships, also interior cabins aft on lower decks. This may sounds odd but other than personal Hygiene, clothing change, and personal business we are napping or asleep. So paying more for a balcony or port hole just isn't worth it. For viewing we go topside or ashore. Our ship time revolves around claiming a place in the solarium as early as possible as the base for our day aboard. We don't gamble nor are we much interested in alcohol or crowds

RCL should definitely not retire the Vision class of ships. How wasteful instead of updating ! And not everyone wants to cruise on a floating amusement park.
