The square door corners remained standard through 1977. In '78 and '79 rounded rear door corners became an option. In '80, the doors came rounded at the bottom front and rear corners. This is the key detail that identifies Transformers Generation 1 Optimus Prime as a 1976-79 Freightliner FLT, based on tiny square-corner doors molded into the old toy truck cab. Also, the door latches were mounted vertically through '79, just as on the toy. In '80, they flipped them horizontally.
77 should say White Freightliner, but that is not in stone, they removed the White in 78 but some 77's could have slipped through I have seen some 79's that said White they were made in Seattle, yours was probably made in North Carolina. Interesting piece of history you got there.

It still has the White-Freightliner style with those square door corners. But yet has the square wheel wells of the Freightliner ones.

From what I know it was 77 that the badge changed to Freightliner, and the last of the White-Freightliner badges were in this year also.

Yes, it runs and drives really nice. It just needs tires and some love.
