- Hey Everyone,
I hope you are all doing good. Here is the much anticipated video of me and my bestfriend Renee talking about how we got into Oxford and Cambridge. We were the first two black girls in our schools to go to Oxbridge and I believe we were 2 of 3 people our school had ever sent to Oxbridge so we were really proud of ourselves. And for this reason, HELPING BLACK PEOPLE INTO OXBRIDGE AND OTHER RUSSELL GROUPS IS IMPORTANT TO US!!
So the Cambridge University ACS (i'm their Vice President) held their Student Sessions' for the Cambridge University Open Day on the 30th of June and it was very successful. It was really nice meeting so many black students who wanted to apply and who were subbies. It was a space where you could come and ask us who were here all the questions you had.
NOW, Oxford University ACS (Renee is President) are running a conference with the support of the University of Oxford admissions department to help young people from state schools in year 12 of African/Caribbean descent with their university applications to Oxford and other higher educations institutions.
THIS WILL HAPPEN IN LONDON AT THE CLIFFORD CHANCE OFFICES ON THE 12TH OF JULY 2016 FROM 8.45AM-5.30PM.
There will be free refreshments, a chance to network with undergrads and alumni, as well as potential travel reimbursements. If you know anyone or if you yourself fit these criteria, please email their/your name, email adress and details to contact@annualaccessconference.co.uk , or alternatively get in touch with Oxford ACS to sign up. Whether or not you have thought of Oxford, help us help the next generation of young, black talented kids.

I really want you to sign up even if Oxford or Cambridge seems like just a dream. Me and Renee and both our ACS' really want to help you out. We found it so hard to get to where we are now because we didn't know the right people and few people extend there hand out to help us with the process and to make our dreams a reality. We don't want anyone to go through and and like me personally almost end their application because it seemed overwhelming and 'unrealistic'.

Smart black girls love it with a down to earth personality . Usually ethnic ppl who get into uni's like that , feel they have to conform to their new surroundings . Very encouraging n nice to see you doin well.
Asides from being super intelligent, you both seem like such a joy to be around.
I'm going to Liverpool University and I found out it was a Russell group uni! They rejected me twice and after requesting for an interview, they finally accepted me and it was the programme director of my dream course that interviewed me and believed in me! I'll be doing Anatomy and Human Biology there and I'm sooo excited! Love how one of the aims of this channel is to encourage and help black people to aim for the very best universities! P.s. I am a black somalian girl! Fantastic inspiration, keep it up! xo

I'm 30 years old, American, and graduated from university in 2008. However, I can't stop watching your videos about your experiences preparing for and attending Oxbridge. It almost-ALMOST-makes me want to go through schooling again to become as accomplished and inspiring as the two of you are at your very young ages. Nothing is going to stop you.

The majority of the people who apply to Oxbridge have the grades and the academic potential to meet the entry requirements. But the majority of people who apply do not get in. Because it's not just grades they want. It's that extra pizzazz you know 😉

This is really sad because I have a friend who was invited to an interview for Oxford and she chickened out. She's running a very successful business right now so I know she had what it takes.
Excellent girls for getting in. May God make all your dreams come true and do well. But girls be careful I am Ugandan and a member of my community killed himself at Oxford University when he was just 19. Get your qualification and enrich your life but do not let it kill you. Your life is more than a degree at an elite University like Oxford. Know that you are worthy smart and incredibly talented with or without Oxbridge. But you are both incredible young black women good for you.
Its a shame miss thing dropped maths though.

When people say that it is important to see someone like yourself (black) doing what you would like to do in the further, I never understood until I watched you guys. My heart froze. This isn't the 'black excellence' that people hashtag on Instagram. This is real. You guys are real. I'm going to do my PhD at Cambridge and hopefully inspire like you guys have inspired me tonight.

I left school at 16 because I just wasn't getting along with it since I'm more creative than academic lol got an apprenticeship in digital marketing and social media and now at 17 I work as an apprentice for a big global media agency across Bloomberg in central London and I'm making pretty alright money for my age but I guess like with the stuff you were talking about, the most you had was motivation, and I always tried to stay motivated and i'm pretty happy now lol soooo happy for y'all maan!!!!!!

I got 9a*s and 2as at gcse, 4as at ASlevel and 3 a*s at A2Level and everyone around me really wanted me to apply for Cambridge but I just could not see myself fitting into the cbridge lyf lmao... I went to visit my medic friend at cbridge a while ago and I remember that I could feel the stress and tension in the air it made me feel guilty for not working until 3:00am every night ... One great thing about cbridge tho was Obvs the biggest spoons in Europe ammarite?? in the end I chose a less prestigious uni and I'm livin the chill lyf rn but I always have this weird feeling like I wonder if I could've got in if I tried?? I don't regret not applying for cbridge I just wanna prove to people that I'm capable you feel. Wow just told my life story on a YT comments section. LOVE THIS VIDEO! LOVE U! U ALWAYS LOOK FINE AF! 💕
no I got 13 a star all together. and I'm in Cambridge. Cambridge is like lotto .it is all about your luck .they don't ask hard question they just ask normal question . if they ask you questions during interview and you don't know answer or forget it or run away they help you .they will give you answer .not hard .be international student and pay 40000 pounds straight in class no interview nothing .but I'm not

lmao wtf zakh, i'm an intl student and i still had to go through the whole application for oxford & my friends still went through the interview for cambridge. there's no intl student privilege.

Omg. This video is lifeeeee. I am only in year 10 but this guy in our school applied and got through to the interviews and everything. He has perfect grades but he only did drama and music extra curricular so he didn't really stand out and didn't get through.
