Funky Dorian Blues Jam | GUITAR BACKING TRACK (G Minor - 79 BPM)
Your goal as a soloist is to create MELODY. Our neck diagrams give you the notes you can use to create that melody in REAL TIME. Think of the Diagrams as 3 layers of information:
1. PENTATONIC - The pentatonic scale works all the time and almost never changes, so this is the basic level.
2. MODE - The mode will always be the pentatonic PLUS 2 NOTES (modes have 7 notes). The mode can change depending on the chords (modal interchange).
3. CHORD - The chord layer shows you the notes of the chord changes (aka the HARMONY) in REAL TIME. Outgoing notes get smaller and fade out, incoming notes will fade in, so you know what notes to go for next.
In our app AlphaJams (currently in Beta), you will be able to control which layer you see, and how much of the neck you see. It should be out in the next few months, so please stay tuned!

Bass about to rip -> 🔥 track to practice with.
I just completely let go and watched my fingers in almost an out of body experience. And what came out had me tearing up. So I grit my teeth clenched the neck and I really just let something come out.
I guess I finally got the blues... The thing is once you’re there you realize just how much it hurts to open that door.
There is a trade off. and it takes the enjoyment out it for the player for that time. It might be beautiful to outside ears or played back at a later time if it’s recorded. But in that moment...
While most of it comes from a place of pain and sadness, eventualy you will learn to take a form of enjoyment from it. Kind of as a way to process said negative emotions and experiences and turn them into something beautiful. Once you make that realization you may finally find enjoyment from it.
A worthwile experience regardless (the blues that is)
