It wouldn't be hard to spend the entire day there - there is so much to see! I wonder if there are any other thrift stores or antique nearby - I didn't check. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and my finds!
Oh my goodness I had such a laugh and a memory when you showed that exercise machine. In the late 60s (I was in my very early 20s) a group of us from work joined a “gym” which was a room on the second floor of a building and they had these machines. We would wiggle and vibrate our way to smaller bums! 🤣🤣 I barely weighed 120 pounds so not sure I really needed it and I’m definitely sure it didn’t work anyway. You really made me smile when I saw it… a memory from long ago.
That's so funny! Thank you for sharing your memory with me! It definitely seems like there's some dubious science behind it, but how much fun to check out a blast from the exercising past!
The Lennox dishes are absolutely beautiful. They are my second favorite items. My favorite are the grey Flintridge China you displayed on a previous video. We had the metal horse drawn tin too as a child. We brought home made toll house cookies to school in that tin when we had Christmas Parties at school.
Such a fun memory - thank you for sharing! Isn't funny how such a small thing like an old cookie tin can bring you right back? My grandmother used to keep her Christmas cookies in these kinds of tins and then stored them on her attic steps. I remember it like it was yesterday, and she's been gone over 20 years now.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Fun place if you live nearby! While I was editing the video I kept seeing things that I liked that I didn't notice while I was there. There was so much to take in!
I remember my mother getting cottage cheese in those rattan mugs when I was a child. They came from Knudsens Dairy in North Haven and were delivered to us and placed in the metal Knudsen box by the kitchen door.
That's such a great story! It must have been nice to have regular dairy deliveries right to the door back in the day. Now we get to drag ourselves to Stop & Shop and pay an arm and a leg for anything there! 😂😂
I started thrifting about a year and a half ago. In that time I’ve definitely seen Savers prices rise on the things I’m interested in and I shop at the same one Kris does.
Great video. This video made me nostalgic. I traveled to work on the Merritt Parkway for years and I loved driving through the tunnel. Didn't love the Sikorsky Bridge though. I visited Mongers years ago. A unique fun experience.
I'm glad I could bring you back to your tunnel/bridge days! Before they upgraded the Sikorsky Bridge, I used to be terrified of driving over it. I always felt like I was going to lose control of my car. It's so much better now. That must have been a tough commute for you!
You have so many interesting places to go around where you live. Such fun jaunts for the day. I ❤️❤️❤️❤️your delft planter. Blue hydrangas would look great in it and maybe some autumn colored leaves for the dark red flowers tucked around
Hi Kris, Mongers looks like you can spend hours there. Wow, loads of interesting things. I love the planter by Delph. Very pretty. Good thinking at Savers! Lol. I remember going there a while back, forgot my coupons, so I went outside, cleaned my car, taking an umbrella and some kids toys out , donated them, got the coupon, and continued on. You do what you must, lol. Have a great day!! Deb
Mongers was so much fun. I definitely recommend it! I'm glad you could relate to my strategy at Savers! Honestly, I'll never use a fraction of the coupons I have, so I didn't feel bad about it. I also don't intend to go back - this past Friday was my last time. It was a double-whammy bad thrifting day - Heck's followed by Saver's = despair. 😂😂
The little dots on the Lenox are enamel. I have a beautiful set of Lenox Rutledge which has enamel flowers. It was first made in 1939 and discontinued in 2020. Great video. I was happy to see the dogs and cats.
OOH! I just looked up Lenox Rutledge and it's BEAUTIFUL! I never saw it before. You're so lucky to have a set! I'm sure you treasure it! I'll tell the fur babies you said hello! (Iris just jumped in a box and it flipped over with her inside it. Very comical!) 😂😂
Hi. 🌼🌼🌼 The planter is so beautiful find. Would use with plants or for placing fruits also. I love your pets, I also have a few cats, which I love so much. Recently, I lost my dog, and it has hurt my heart so much.😢
I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your dog! It's so hard when they leave us. My heart goes out to you. I'm glad you have your cats for solace! 💕💕
So glad you made it to Mongers! i love those dog lamps - good thing I didn't go because I would have felt compelled to buy them even though I have nowhere to put them. 😀
You were my inspiration to go! We adored the dog lamps, but also have nowhere to put them. They reminded me a bit of your lamps, but I think yours are even better. ❤❤
Thank you for showing new places. I guess more and more people are jumping into the bandwagon of saving money by thrifting or buying great used things. Savers as well as Goodwill knew it. However prices cannot go up forever. I hope, you can find other places to source your goods. BTW, your cats and dogs have great instinct: they knew when your camera is focusing on their antics. They remained still and turned away
I'm glad you enjoyed Mongers! Having this channel is such a good motivation for me to check out more places and I love doing it! I hope you're right about the prices not going up forever - it really feels like they just keep rising. I've been trying to find other sources with some success. Good point about the animals! Sometimes I think they act up until they can tell I'm getting fed up, and then their fun is over. They're very silly (but I love them!) ❤❤
Wasn't it cool? I was so worried that Eric was going to behead himself trying to figure out how it worked! I guess you know a lot about its origin, living where you do!
I bet that the Lenox large set was someone’s wedding china. Since plates are more costly, more salad / bread and butter plates would have been purchased as gifts. If the pattern is still current, a store that sells it might let you swap some of the smaller ones for larger ones.
What an interesting place! I could see me spending the entire day in there!! I love seeing all your finds!!

I'm so glad you're enjoying my channel! Thank you for watching and leaving me such a kind comment! 💕💕
Kris, I live in CT too. Thanks for your very informative travel videos to places I’ve never been and definitely want to visit!
I'm so glad your finding my tips useful! It's a lot of fun to share them with my fellow Connecticut-ites!

I so agree with you about Savers. I very rarely shop there anymore.
It's really a shame. It's also telling that so many people who watch this small channel feel the exact same way.

@@sandranorden5217 it's so annoying, yes?

I definitely recommend it if you're ever looking for something to do. I honestly can't believe I never went before now.

Both of your ideas sound so pretty! I have some lime/white hydrangeas in it right now and I don't think it's quite working. 🤔🤔
I pass by this place when I visit my daughter and have always wondered what’s inside! Thanks for the tour!
You're welcome! You might want to check it out sometime!
Went to the Market for the first time today. So much fun. We went to Savers in Orange on the way home too. Lol
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! How was Savers in Orange? I haven't been there in years.
I have been there, it’s a fun place, thanks for reminding me of such a great time we had. ♥️
I'm glad my video reminded you of your fun time! I can't believe it took me so long to finally check it out - it was a lot of fun.

(Hecks I can understand), but SAVERS..??

That rusty shingle cutter! OMG! I live in Red Bud, Illinois, a small town 20 miles south of Belleville! That’s where we go to do all our shopping!
Wasn't it cool? I was so worried that Eric was going to behead himself trying to figure out how it worked! I guess you know a lot about its origin, living where you do!
Wow that was a crazy price at Saver’s Now I know why I never go to the one down the street from me
I totally understand that prices sometimes go up for a variety of reasons, but such a dramatic increase makes no sense to me. 🤷♀🤷♀

That makes so much sense! I bet your right! I never thought of that! The set is so beautiful.
I went to Mongers Market last month when visiting my daughter! We had a great time. Did you go up and see all the old doors?
No! I missed the doors! How did I miss the doors?!?!?!
Hi, Which Savers store is so high priced? Great Video!
Hi there! The one in Newington. I actually went this past Friday and it was so bad, I just left. I think Savers and I have broken up. 😂😂😂😂
