    Was looking for the Reebok nanos at Dicks and stumbled upon this shoe. Never heard of the brand or the shoe, gave it a try and was glad i did. Purchased instantly. Amazing. Comfortable. Everyday use and for HIIT classes. Searched for one shoe and got something better in my opinion. Love these

    This review helped me pick up two pairs of these trainers. When you said it reminded you of a nano 5, I was sold. With the Nano 6 being my grails, this seemed like the best option instead of waiting for a re-release that may never come. More than the nano 5, they honestly remind me of a Metcon 2: plenty stable, really good laterally, a lil clunky. Either way, definitely an old school feel and for a guy who stopped any serious crossfit in 2018, provide the feeling I've been missing (gave Nano X2 a try and they were not confidence inspiring on lifts, plus the heel slip while rowing was an absolute non starter).
    My biggest downside of these shoes is the 9mm, which you can definitely feel. It's not a gradual drop. It's more aggressive at the heel and then flattens out through the midfoot and forefoot

    Small point, I like that you don’t usually speculate about durability. I watch a lot of training and running shoe reviews and it always bothers me when they say “this should last a long time”

    I have bought these shoes and really do like them, I think this review applies very well even with the minor changes...For me they are a little narrow so hoping they do break in similar to the games athlete...If i did size up would I just have to be careful they don't become too long/big?

    I have worn Nanos, Metcons and now the TYRs. I absolutely love the TYRs. They seem to fit my foot better than the other two. I’m buying another pair now in a different color.

    Got the production models. there is no heel slip in them, and I haven't been using the lace lock either. However def agree they are not a wide shoe. This was the most disappointing thing for me given all the hype around their lifters. I really think they've missed a trick here. These would be perfect if they were wide like the nano's. Thanks for the review as always

    Will this shoe get in with your top three together with the Haze trainer and Metcon 7? In which order would you put them from 1 to 3?

    Hi Joel, I'm from Indonesia and I randomly bumped into your best CrossFit shoes of 2022 and want to get these shoes TYR CXT-1. I was wondering though... I wear 10.5 US in nearly every shoe but I saw that generally the cm in my shoes are between 28 to 28.5 and with this one it was 27.5 from the website. Did you size up? Or use the same shoe size and it generally was ok? I also have this weird thing where my 2nd toe is longer than my big toe so wondering if it's safer to size up to 11. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work with the vids

    My only complaint is that the insert keeps sliding back while wearing them… meaning there’s a gap between the upper and the insert that my toes hang off. Tried getting an exchange and they obviously don’t have any left. Feels bad.

    I feel like for people like me with crap ankle mobility (working on it) the 9mm heel-to-toe drop would be wildly beneficial! Probably gonna give these a shot!

      Prefer Strike - the midsole foam is better cushioned but not soft and I prefer 4mm drops.

  • @brysondelmonte1431
    @brysondelmonte1431 Год назад

    Great review, but just curious isnt the bigger drop closer to a weightlifting shoe so therefore better for lifting? when refering to the 9mm you sound like you were expecting the squatting pattern lifts to be bad. i might be misunderstanding tho

    • @AMRAP
      @AMRAP  Год назад

      Depends who you ask. A weightlifting shoe is made with an incompressible heel and little flex in the forefoot. Both of which allow you to easily stabilize your feet. Not the same with a trainer which has a foam midsole and is designed to flex in the forefoot. Yes you get a mechanical advantage, but when pitched forward becomes harder to stabilize. I find 4-6mm to be my preferred drop range for trainers because my ankle mobility is pretty good but if you have less ankle flexion, higher drops could help.

    • @AMRAP
      @AMRAP  8 месяцев назад

      Size chart is generic. If your nano x2 is 8.5 then get size 9 or 9.5 depending on if your feet are very wide.

    RADs are the best shoe of the year. I wore the metcon 8s, nano x and x2, TYR, but RADs are the best. quality, wear, sizing, squatting, stability, short runs. I'm done lol. but TYR are a close 2nd. (the only reason is RADs vs TYR feel like better quality)
