How to fix Star Wars:
1. Ignore the sequel trilogy and quietly decanonize it.
2. Recanonize the EU
3. Hire a Star Wars lore master
4. Create a sequel trilogy from an accomplished Star Wars writer working with George Lucas.
5. Hire an accomplished director who doesn’t hate Star Wars
6. Recast Luke, Hahn, Leia…etc
7. Write a movie trilogy detailing the rule of two centering on Darth Bane. Here we get a perspective of the Sith
8. Write a movie trilogy concerning Darth Plagueis
9. Print money!
For real I'd love to see Darth Plageis, and Count Dooku and his previous Jedi Life.
I always thought darth plagueis was a made up sith to pull aniken to the dark side , cus that story is anikens main reason for joining palpatine in the darkside, yet palpatine or anikan are never seen using plagueis powers to keep people they care about alive

I been to the Premiere of Return of the Jedi back in 1983, I think I have been around that most people on the internet.
I see every damn Star Wars movie that was made left alone all the series that I found relevant.
To me the last Star Wars movie was Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and the First Episode was Episode I: The Phantom Menace, so far Star Wars only has six real episodes as the movies go.

I'm worried it would end up being the same situation that is currently happening with Akira Toriyama's legacy. That George may pass on during production, and who will end up finishing the rest of his work. With what we know about Disney, I have my doubt that they will respect his unfinished work that he left behind if it were to happen.

I’m a starwars fan and I have no problem saying George going back to Disney might not be a great idea.
Especially with the "or I walk" attitude.
One of the reason the Prequels were flawed was because no one seemed to challenge George at all.
He is a great creative mind, but as a director, a part from a few key scenes, he's not that great "do it better" "make it more" isn't clear on what he wants. He has had great actors Portman, Neeson, Lee all be wooden and dull in most of their scenes.
There were so many hurdles in make 4 and 5, people to challenge him, including Marcia, while prequels were all 'oh it's gonna be great'

George Lucas did mention several times decades ago that he always wanted to do a for TV Star Wars but that the costs were impossible then. So it makes sense for him to come back on this level and maybe give us new ideas.
I reckon because its such an untouched part in live action, they're bringing George on as like a creative supervisor, but then again even that sounds far fetched, and I'm assuming James Mangold just wants to do his own thing.

Disney knows that announcing his return would get whatever next project he's involved with PRINTING money. Bringing him back makes sense in every possible way. Reset the overall direction. Create new stuff to sell. Hype release..
They'd have to also give him full creative control and allow him to pick his own team to work with.
I would only have two requests from George:
1 - Whether from Bob or Kathleen or whoever it may be, don't take directions from them. Don't accept "tips" from them. Trust your instincts.
2 - Work with talent and talent only. Jon Fraveau, Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard even. I'm not saying accept everything they say, but rather really consider their ideas. These are your peers now and they are the only ones that you should consider and share your ideas with.
GL coming back would be amazing and bring us genuine Star Wars stories and sentiment. I really hope it happens

Honestly I can't really see George coming back in any capacity where he's going to be creating a whole film or series. He's almost 80 years old, just on that alone towards the end of his life I don't see him getting years deep into a Star Wars project after he's left it for so many years already.

So there is no real comparison with the originals which were primarily about fun, redemption, and hope. Luke Skywalker is the vastly superior character to Anakin's waa waa boo hoo. Not only is Anakin a complete narcissist, he's also easily manipulated.
I think that GL has been heavily involved through DF since the sale on most aspects of what dave has been writing developing along the way. Those close mentor relationships are strong and lasting. GL doesnt have to 'come back' as creative practices are collaborative and can rely on outside chats/guidance . So guidance and checking things on storylines, plot, philosophy, is it correct this character would do X,YZ etc, over just informal chats, hanging out etc

George coming back would be AMAZING: I think with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau having so much power in the Star Wars franchise, it is indeed very possible, since they both would give George Lucas the needed creative freedom.
I have thoughts, if he wants back he comes back if they respect who made it in the first place, I used to watch the behind the scenes of George approving different designs crafted for the characters like General Grievous, I just hope they listen if he gives feedback or if he has any creative freedom in anything hopefully they don't restrict him a lot. Josh brought up a good point: Roger probably just heard this from online rumors like the rest of us, which we have heard for a while. Roger probably didn't get "told" this in any official manner by any credible source. After all, he just said "I heard..." and then backed up and said "I may be prophesying..."
If it's true that George comes back and have some sort of creative control with future projects, that would be amazing!
Theory…I love you….but you gotta understand that this Just isn’t possible….no way in 7 hells. The guy literally told you not to take it as written in stone or any assurances.
If George does return with creative power over Star Wars, he NEEDS to have people around him who he can trust to help him iron out, strengthen, and even change his more wild ideas.
When George is left without anyone to help him creatively, we get the Prequels, for better and for ill.
When someone like his ex-wife helped him, we got the Original Trilogy.
Filoni isn't enough. One padawan isn't enough. Lucas needed to start his own Order of worthy apprentices who then will pass down the torch to their descendants.

I loved season three of the Mandalorian! Actually, I love all the Mandalorian episodes and seasons. I've watched them all nine times so far. I sure hope there will be a lot more to come.
I still believe he planned this all along. xD Think about it. He knew the prequels had some backlash and he knew Disney would mess up star wars even more so, and he decided to become even richer, while watching his prequels become more appreciated due to disney's bad writing and marketing. His stuff would look better in comparison, he'd be richer and then later on, people would call on him to be a consultant or creative supervisor, so it'd be like he'd be in control again, even if he technically doesn't own the property anymore.

But i also really want to thank you for your criticism, and how you stuck your ground through the entire downfall of Star Wars. Thank you for not falling to the dark side of Star Wars fans when episodes 7, 8, and 9 came out, and everyone was divided. You don't sound like a true Star Wars fan because why would you not want George Lucas to bring the writing and stories back to the light and save the Star Wars Universe?
I wish Disney would do something where they split Star Wars and let the market decide what they want to see. You can have one side that's Disney Canon where they make what they want, and another side that the Lucasverse where its George Lucas given a blank check and Disney lets him to his own thing.
Disney won't do that. As things are, a large portion of the fan will pick Lucas either out of nostalgia or to spite Disney.

I can see George coming back as a creative consultant for new projects. If he wants to direct something also, they should let him direct. Even though he's about 80 years old, there are directors that are old and still directing. For example, George Miller is still directing (79 years old, directing Furiosa) and Clint Eastwood (93 years old). I think it's great news if he comes back. I bet him and Iger talked about what happened after George sold Lucasfilm to Disney. Maybe after discussions George will now have more control and input about upcoming projects

I agree. Been a fan for 40 years. Star Wars is no more. Disney destroyed it with their political garbage. I’ll stick to reading the old legends books and rewatching the old films.
