I've always caught that. That scene is so emotional starting with the King and Queen that both want to find thier daughter, but after 18 years, are just exhausted and only doing the lanterns as expected now. I cry every time and even more so, once she gets their lantern.
Gothel is a sinister villain because she's not royalty or has powers or anything, however, she utilises deception, kidnapping, abuse, gaslighting, control, and manipulation. Thus making her all the more realistic and all the more terrifying.
Fun fact: Tangled has done a short called Tangled Ever After and a TV show on Disney Channel that lasted for 3 seasons and both are played by the original cast!
I love this movie so much. I hate that it was immediately over shadowed by Frozen. I personally think this one has a stronger story and much more compelling characters (especially the animals). Also, aside from the villain, no characters have to die to make it's point. My last thing is that the King and Queen are the most tragic characters I've ever seen. The lantern scene never fails to make me cry with how much heartbreak you can see on their faces. You can tell they both want to find their daughter, but after 18 years, are just so exhausted and now have to continue the tradition because the kingdom relies on it, even though it's a painful reminder of what they no longer have and don't know if they ll ever get back.
To be honest, with the amount of attention Tangled has been getting with people claiming it’s better than Frozen, I would say Tangled has become or is starting to become the more popular one so saying Tangled is better than Frozen is not an unpopular opinion at all.

Especially because Frozen just got slotted for another 2 sequels and Moana’s series got turned into a movie instead. If Frozen and Tangled had swapped years, Frozen would’ve been straight up forgotten and obliterated by the competition, and Tangled would’ve become the next Lion King. I don’t find Frozen a bad movie or anything, but I find it criminally overrated and don’t find any of the characters that memorable or amazing. The fact its praised as the first sibling love movie or a princess doesn’t need a prince to save her is pretty insulting to movies like Lilo and Stitch, Pocahontas and Mulan, movies that did these concepts so much better imo.

Probably a dumb question but I've always wondered whether Rapunzel's parents named her Rapunzel or if that's what Gothel named her, and her parents just ran with it, yes, in the beginning, Eugene says that's it's the story of a girl named Rapunzel, however, it's never shown that her parents personally named her Rapunzel.
Most likely they did, due to the baby was probably a few days old before being taken, because her name being different is never brought up in any other tangled series.
In the Grimm version the king and queen stole plants called "Rapunzel" from a witch and when she found out, she made them trade their (yet unborn) first child for the plants. As soon as the queen gave birth, the witch came and took her, then named the child Rapunzel and locked her up in her tower. So the name was actually given by the witch in this version 😅
I was thinking that Gothel just used the brothers - they used the crown and got rid of Flynn for her, and thought they would get money for Rapunzel's servitude, but while they were chasing Rapunzel, Gothel whacked them. They would have trusted her, but now they had served her purpose. She wasn't going to give them anything out of the whole deal, and had to get rid of them that way so that she would seem the hero to get Rapunzel back.

There's a theory about how mother gothul was the old lady from snow white who fell down a cliff and look how the flower is at the bottom of a cliff with a old lady who is hunched over and cloaked like the one in snow white and another theory remember Maui from Moana in the song your welcome he stated to have lassoed the sun and in the picture of mini Maui the sun struggles could Maui doing that be the reason a drop from the sun fell on earth think about it it makes sense
My wife and I are 50 years old and been married for 4 years. Now I see the light was out first dance and our kiddos and combined family we all let off lanterns
love Tangled. I love a movie with a strong woman in it. And the frying pan had me in stitches. Story time, when I first moved out of my mother's house I moved to a sketchy neighborhood. My mother gave me my great grandmother's little frying pan to cook for one and to defend myself. It was just the right size for both. I thankfully never needed to defend myself but I felt a little safer every time I looked at it.
I just noticed that Tangled was Disney’s last true love story. And it’s crazy because they finally perfected the formula. They made the best romance with the best characters. And then they just stopped focusing on love stories after that. It’s kinda sad. Cause they cracked the code. But now they’ve switched gears. And I really miss Disney love stories. Tangled is my all time favorite movie. Nothing has topped it yet. And I doubt anything ever will.

And then I remembered another one about frosty like Rudolph and Jack Frost, and he was trying to kill Rudolph a second time
PS if you also think about doing series on your channel, you should definitely check out the tangled series. I haven’t even gotten that far into that one. Just because for two reasons why one because I know it was going to get horrible so it’s kind of like a scary movie as well and also just because it’s been a long time. Plus you should also think about watching Sweet tooth. I haven’t even started season two if they even made a season two as well for that movie.

I was stunned that Zachary Levi could actually sing.
