Yeah I have had one other chain stretch out of adjustment. It was an Oregon chain. I have never had the Stihl brand stretch? I’m gonna take the side plate off and see if maybe a piece of debris isn’t in the adjuster! Thanks Obie see ya soon👊🏻
Pretty sure I was subscribed for a while but just subscribed again. If I wasn't before glad to be subscribed now. Have really enjoyed your stuff lately. Good work on this one and love to see you teaching your son the value of hard work
Well thank you! I sure do have fun interacting with the community and teaching Evan work ethic and lessons for life. Not to mention forever making a video library to watch when he goes off to college. Totally worth it! Glad you are here! Appreciate ya👊🏻
Great job Todd & Evan!! Todd, if there is still life left in that chain, you might be able to have a link taken out of it. I don't know. Anyway, you guys have a wonderful day
Well I have heard from others to do that. I’m just not sure it’s worth taking the risk of it breaking when half the life of the chain is gone. Thanks for watching John👊🏻
Hi Todd and Evan. The bundle wood you put together , can’t beat that for your customers. Good bucking session on that white oak. You’ll get some nice wood out of the wood on your truck. Take care .Al
Yeah I hear ya on prices. Everyone has different situations and their selling area has a lot to do with prices. We have so many convience stores selling bundles now that we have to do something different and sell cheaper to stay ahead. Appreciate ya watching and commenting Matt👊🏻
How many teeth on that chain? I’ve never ran out of adjustment. I’ve never ran a 25’ bar much either. Great video fellas. Awesome that Evan gets to come along this year! Take care!👍🏻
84 on this chain! I’m guessing that since I have kept it out of the dirt and haven’t hit any metal to require extra sharpening, that it has lasted so long it has stretched 🤷♂️ I’m gonna open up the side plate to clean it today and make sure I don’t have debris in the tensioner. Yup Evan is making the trip👏🏻
Wow! 14! I have 3😂 That’s saying a lot about the 400 coming from you. It’s a great saw and I would buy it all o er again after running it for almost three years. Thanks for watching Hillcrest👊🏻
Big rounds and the right saw for the job! Good luck with the Sycamore. I have a love/hate relationship with them. Beautiful tree but sheds and drops a lot of limbs. Another awesome video.
Love this saw! Perfect for my needs!! That Sycamore will probably be used as fill in the local wash out ditch😂 Beautiful trees but very hard to split and work with. I appreciate ya Richard 👊🏻
@@toddsoutsideagain I agree. Hopefully the belt shows up. So far it’s been in Atlanta Georgia, Indianapolis, now in Saint Louis (two different facilities- for 3 days) and it’s supposed to go to Mike in Indiana.
That white oak is going to make some really nice wood! There will be a lot of barkless splits 👌🏻 Definitely got the most out of the chain! Looking forward to meeting you guys in person next weekend
Yes it did. It got split shortly after the video ended 😂 Looking forward to meeting you as well Brandon! Glad you are making the trip. Safe travels brother👊🏻
Yeah I’ve been told we are too cheap. Every convience store in town now sell bundles. I figure selling more for less is the way to go. It’s like word of mouth advertising without paying for it😂 Thanks for watching Kenny👊🏻
Question for ya Todd . What kind of bags are you using for the kindling and what did you use to close the top of the bags . That sure was a big stick of oak should be a lot of bark less wood in that one . Nice job guys .
Those were produce bags I get on Amazon. If I can find the link I’ll send it to ya! I close the top with cheap zip ties from Harbor Freight. Like $2 for 100count. Yep there was a lot of barkless in this log. It got split just after the video ended🤣 Take care Phil👊🏻
Great job Todd and Evan on the oak. The weather looks nice in your area. There's lots of wood in that pile of logs. Have fun and a safe trip to the firewood hysteria. 🕺💃🍻
Nice job. The chute on my 400C is too narrow for ripping so I’m ordering the WestCoast clutch cover or going with another model cover that will fit. Regardless of the small issues the saw is underrated.
Well if not for the hype on the 500 there would be more talk of the 400! It’s very underrated. I have had mine now for almost three years and still love it! It works for me and works well. They have definitely made a name for themselves since then. I paid $860 for mine and they are now over $1k at the same store! Thanks for watching Saltrock👊🏻
No regrets after almost three years of running this 400c!! I would buy it all over again. Yeah that Sycamore is gonna be use to fill the local washout🤣 Appreciate ya Bill👊🏻
This is the first time I have had one stretch it of adjustment?? I have had Oregon chains stretch but never Stihl? Oh well I guess that just means I kept it out of the dirt and metal. It was on a long time. Thanks Jdubb👊🏻
Yeah I thought about that but I’m wondering if the integrity of the chain would be the same? I really don’t want to see one break😂 That might get interesting. I appreciate ya watching Matthew👊🏻
Yes the 400 has been a great saw! Big rounds wear me out!! Sure do see a lot of splits come out of them. It has been in the 80’s here. Cooler now but really green for sure. Great firewood drying weather😂 Thanks Jerry👊🏻
Agreed! I split it just after the video ended and we had a few wedge shaped splits. I have kinda learned to look at the bark for twist when noodling. Instead of just cutting down the middle. It does help with the odd pieces. Thanks for watching CMF👊🏻
Guess you don't like using a Cant Hook? A guy can pick up a antique Cant Hook at farm auctions over here in southeastern Illinois. I don't like auctions but a guy I grew up with his dad goes to them and picked me one up that still had the foot on it for $20.00. The foot is usually long gone on 90% of them that were used for their intended purpose. Great video Todd/Evan, Take care, Everett
Well it’s way less kindling. I would say just guessing it’s 1 kindling to every 9 firewood bundles🤷♂️ I can’t tell ya how many times people put a $20 bill in the stand and take 3 firewood bundles and don’t grab the kindling😂 That being said I do have some people buy it 5-6 at a time? I’m thinking they have a small patio pit or they have their own firewood and just need kindling. I appreciate ya watching Mike👊🏻🍻
Man that 400 is awesome, nice work. I had a similar question as Allen Family Firewood on what bags you are using for the kindling? Looks like they work out well! Take care!
Yes I still love this saw 2-1/2 years later!!! Works well for us! Those bags are produce bags I found on Amazon. I will update the video discription if I can find the Amazon link. Thanks for watching Todd👊🏻
It’s a Stihl chain! Never had it happen either. I guess since I have ran it so long without hitting something and causing excess sharpening it has stretched with age? See ya soon G👊🏻
Yeah I said that as soon as I cut into it. Smells so sweet smelling. Red Oak smells like $h;t🤣 400x was doing awesome as always. So happy with that purchase! Thanks Jeremiah👊🏻🍻
We,, well I just did a bunch of noodling just the other day. It’s in an upcoming video. You beat me to the punch. You need a small round sticker on that tube, that should make it S’more better.
Well great minds think alike. Some just think faster😂😂 I see you were just being nice and let me go first. Yeah that tube has been around for a while. I stole the original idea from Mama Grizz on That Wood guys channel. I guess it could use an upgrade. Thanks for watching Dana!👊🏻
I have never done that because I was unsure of the integrity of the chain afterwards. You and a lot of others have said to do that as well so I’m gonna save the chain. Might get around to learning how to do that someday. I’ve seen it before so I’m sure I can get it done. Thanks for watching John👊🏻
On hi speed the saw sounds like a pissed off fly on roids. Ok gotta ask, Evan not cutting because he's in full on OSHA approved gear?😅. Have chain shortened to fit. Or for the other saw if it's 3/8 too
Yeah Evan wasn’t osha approved for cutting on this video! He was there for camera work and to load some splits for an order we had going out. I thought about shorting the chain but I’m afraid of it getting weak and breaking. I have never done that? Thanks for watching Brandon.👊🏻
AWESOME , nice noodling . Cant wait to see you two !! 👍🏻🇺🇸🪵
Thanks Del. Likewise brother👊🏻🇺🇸
Nice work fellas! Looking forward to seen y'all soon. Safe travels!
Yes sir! You as well👊🏻🥃
Great video 🎉🎉thanks for sharing 🎉
Well awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed. Thanks for stopping by and dropping comment👊🏻
Nice job on the bundles and kindling! That is strange about the chain stretch but the 400 took care of that big oak. See both of you on Friday!!
Yeah I have had one other chain stretch out of adjustment. It was an Oregon chain. I have never had the Stihl brand stretch? I’m gonna take the side plate off and see if maybe a piece of debris isn’t in the adjuster! Thanks Obie see ya soon👊🏻
I really like my 400!! Thanks for the recommendation!! Have fun at the HFH!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day

@toddsoutsideagain that's why I started mine. I don't show my boys much but I have a lot of outakes with them!
Nice load of oak
Yes it was! Lots of work wrestling the big rounds but the splits you get out of them makes it worth it! 👊🏻
Good video!

Thanks. We have got it all split and stacked and it made some beautiful splits. Thanks for watching Allen👊🏻
Great video. Don’t worry about what others think is too cheap or too expensive. You make your prices based off of what you think your time is worth.

I have 14 saws total and the 400 is my favorite of them all

@@toddsoutsideagain I like saws lol I have a 462 and 2 500i but always reach for the 400 first i love it thanks for the videos
Ripmaster! Kindlingmaster!
Well I don’t know about that Sir Chris… I heard Kenny was the rip master💨😂 Thanks for stopping by👊🏻
Great setup for your kindling bundles. Looks like it works like a charm.
Good saw work too fellas!!
Safe travels for y’all next weekend!!
Well it works for us. Thanks for stopping by Jacob👊🏻
If you got a 28-inch bar bet, you could keep using the chain.😉👍
Thanks for the tip!🤣 Iknow this 400 would run one. Probably have to get a new oiler though. Thanks for watching Daniel 👊🏻
Big rounds and the right saw for the job! Good luck with the Sycamore. I have a love/hate relationship with them. Beautiful tree but sheds and drops a lot of limbs. Another awesome video.

Great job and good video. Hard work but great wood haul.
Thanks. It’s a lot harder to work with the bigs rounds for sure. The reward is seeing how many splits come out of them! Appreciate ya watching 👊🏻
You will have fun in Indiana in a few days!
Yes I will. It’s too bad you couldn’t be there too Robert! I’m betting you would have a blast! Take care👊🏻
@@toddsoutsideagain I agree. Hopefully the belt shows up. So far it’s been in Atlanta Georgia, Indianapolis, now in Saint Louis (two different facilities- for 3 days) and it’s supposed to go to Mike in Indiana.

That’s a nice white oak. Get some good barkless pieces out of that. We’re those onion bags for the kindling or PO bags? 😂
We sure did get a lot of good barkless. It’s all split and stacked. Thanks for watching Mike👊🏻
Todd I’m thinking of getting a MS400. Do you have any regrets about the saw.
White oak is tough wood to cut but I hate sycamore!
No regrets after almost three years of running this 400c!! I would buy it all over again. Yeah that Sycamore is gonna be use to fill the local washout🤣 Appreciate ya Bill👊🏻
Love the white oak,one of my favorites
You and me both. We don’t get much of it compared to Red Oak. Smells so much better😂 Appreciate ya watching Ted👊🏻
I have had a Stihl chain like that too. Kinda stinks when there is a decent amount of tooth left. Oh well, on to the next! 😁
This is the first time I have had one stretch it of adjustment?? I have had Oregon chains stretch but never Stihl? Oh well I guess that just means I kept it out of the dirt and metal. It was on a long time. Thanks Jdubb👊🏻
Take that chain and have a link or 2 removed. You are correct not pushing your luck running a loose chain. I ruined a bar once when I threw a chain.
Yeah I thought about that but I’m wondering if the integrity of the chain would be the same? I really don’t want to see one break😂 That might get interesting. I appreciate ya watching Matthew👊🏻
Every chain already has a coupling link. Removing a link or 2 doesn’t hurt.
Another excellent day doing some work on the big oak Evan and Todd 😮😊❤
Yes it was! It got all split shortly after we got it home too😂 I was feeling it! Appreciate ya Todd👊🏻
That 400 is running well. Those big logs are tough to handle. Great job. It really looks nice and green there. Nothing like that here yet.
Yes the 400 has been a great saw! Big rounds wear me out!! Sure do see a lot of splits come out of them. It has been in the 80’s here. Cooler now but really green for sure. Great firewood drying weather😂 Thanks Jerry👊🏻
That white oak is a back stretcher!! Still best stuff on BTU and longevity! Good vid guys
Yeas it is. Love to cut it over red! Smells way better too😂 Thanks for watching Greg👊🏻
Nice job Todd! I think noodling is fun but they always make weird splits for me
