I'm hearing that epson dtf printers have a chip that after you refill the ink tanks certain times the printer quits is that true i don't know about this printer I've had good experience with smaller ecotank epson products
The printer "quits" after certain amount of refills, this is true, however that is based on the printer thinking that it's waste section is full, so it quite when the waste counter reaches its max. This is a modified printer with external waste receptacle that can be cleaned out, so when the waste counter reaches its max, it can be reset quickly using wicreset, so it goes back to "new" state.
After printing 20-30 images off the roll does the color or the white start to clog up? This doesn't do automatic head cleaning while it's printing does it or do I have to manually clean nozzle every so often? I'd hate to start a job for 100 8x12 images and 50 images later my colors start to mess up, please explain this to me.
The white ink circulates all the time during printing. The WIMS installed has tamper switches which are activated with every Pass of the printhead while printing, so this White ink will not clog. Automatic cleaning however on the L1800 is not supported. As a result we recommend printing smaller jobs 20 at a time and monitoring quality while printing. Of course if you notice a missing color then a nozzle check pattern printed and head cleaning is needed again.
