man, i can't remmember the first godzilla movie i watch. i watch so many in a short span of time (5 in one day) that it's hard. but i would say it was either godzilla 1985 or godzilla vs. gidorha. i can't wait for the next one.
WOW, I wish that i could have been there and have one of the directors and or actors of the Godzilla films autograph their names on one of the toys that I bought too, WOW ! I liked Godzilla when i first saw the original one ofcourse with the american cuts. Back then all the way to now I still like him and hope they do a real good job for the new U.S. version.
Legendary always has their work cut out for them, but they tend to deliver much of the time. I was fortunate enough to see their teaser at Comic-Con 2012 after the Pacific Rim panel and from what they did show Godzilla's look remains very true to the original Japanese design. If anything, the biggest changes appear to be that his face might resemble a dinosaur a little more (kind of like the GMK Godzilla) and that this may be the biggest version to date. Seriously, he looked fucking gargantuan.
Tough to say since they didn't really give anything alongside him for scale, but they make him look and feel huge. The best description I can give the sensation is how he feels in GMK. While the official stats say that he's smaller in that movie than he is in the Heisei series, or even Final Wars, the suit's design and the camera angles used make him feel like he really is enormous. Legendary's current design has a very similar feeling and I hope they stick with it.
Guns, tanks, planes, the bomb, other monsters; these things were like the buzzing of flies to Godzilla. But no one could have guessed that his ultimate demise rested not with some new, nebulous technology, nor an eldritch beast form another dimension, but with a mortal man, by the name of Dean Devlin.
I was @ this G-FEST...but I was too involved with the video game room to track down the film crew! :( Love how Dawn is the picture they gave to this clip!
go-jira lol....... at least hes shown in that japanese movie ALWAYS.... but im sure hell be back ive definitely make it a goal to see every godzilla movie created
lol 6:08ish, japanese woman says she cried during godzilla 1984. i do to. in fact, when i was young, my dad, who knew nothing about godzilla, told me that they remade him into mechagodzilla so i wouldnt be so sad. :D
AND GODZILLA THE JAPANESE MONSTER WILL NEVER EVER GO AWAY FOR A REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY LONGEST TIMES, AND MAKE MORE GODZILLA FLIMS FOREVER.
I heard they will make another Godzilla movie, with a new monster for him to beat and everything, and it will be in theaters. I will find out more about this as it continues.
hehe for 44 years Godzilla was immune to all missles, and gun attacks humans could throw at him, then USA upgraded godzilla- he was so much better, faster, meaner, more agile etc that now he was killed by silly missles and guns. YAY! :) good upgrade!
Ironically the cartoon series based of the 1998 Zilla movie was more faithful than the original series. The Zilla in the one actually did breath fire and fought other giant monsters.
Yes! I think the movie would have been a bigger hit if they had named it so. Like BO 20,000F, this movie takes place in America involving a dinosaur-like creature.
Love how they treat the 90's film like a huge tribute when in fact Toho hated what Hollywood had done. Godzilla: Final Wars was a demonstration of how they really felt about that watered down iguana. GINO was more a remake of Beast from 20,000 Fathoms than Godzilla.
@helookslikefamousppl it moved to 2014. i guess it shows that legendary pictures is being cautious about not screwing this up. i say give them all the time they want as long as they stay true to the original.
The company that makes Gamera wanted to but Toho was like HELL NO! And in fact in one of the last movie there responds was to have the carcass of a giant turtle monster wash up on shore supposably eaten by godzilla.
I heard at Comic Con about "Cloverfield" or the unnamed movie by J.J. Adams, he says that he's movie will be like and I quote "a Godzilla for America", isn't that rediculious?
Since I have little faith in the Legendary Godzilla Film coming up, I was hoping that Toho would make an official movie in 2014, for Godzilla's 60th and to cover the American Remake - y'know like with Godzilla 98 and G2K. But since Legendary has now pushed back Godzilla until 2014, for Godzilla's Birthday, it seems like Toho will take a little longer to bring the King back for real. So, we'll have to make do with Legendary. I hope they don't let us down.
@wtfomgstudios Wrong. Zilla/ Gino/ American Godzilla= Irradiated Iguana. Godzilla (Toho)= Irradiated Godzillasaurus. Check out Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah.
Nope - not even the teaser from the last comic con was release on the net ... they just finished shooting the movie so I guess that there will be something in the next months.
I like how they didn't show any footage of Final Wars. Maybe they wanted to hide the fact that Godzilla totally PWNED Zilla? XD GODZILLA FTW!!!!!!!! :D
Hopefully Legendary won't make the mistake TriStar did. Even though the movie was a good movie (WHEN NOT COMPARED TO THE OTHER GODZILLA MOVIES) they change him too much for really big, die-hard fans which is the reason that movie is the worest Godzilla movie out there.

I agree, the only issue was he had very few traits of what made Godzilla who he was! he didn't breath fire, stand upright, and was easily scared and killed by the army. I don't think it was a bad movie, it just may have had some more posetive feed if it was a remake of "Beast From 20,000 Fathoms" or something. Not the worst movie ever...Ever heard of "Manos the Hands of Fate"?
Awesome. Great documentary. Thanks for posting it. Long live Godzilla and Japanese giant monster movies. Thank you, Toho.

I can't help but roll my eyes when he says "Guy in a GREEN godzilla suit." When on the screen it clearly shows godzilla as a very dark shade of grey.
i love the costumes of godzilla and spacegodzilla in one scene
Thanks for putting this up, I will have to stick to the classic 54-75 Godzilla though!
yes me too
Rumor that they are bringing back Godzilla in 2013 or 2014 can't wait!!!!!!! Godzilla #1 fan
Godzilla is the best seriosly no movie ever can top notch his films! GO GODZILLA!!!
I always loved the old Godzilla SpecialFX
He was actually green in Godzilla 2000 & Godzilla vs. Megaguirus.
This Godzilla got us more Godzilla movies from both the u.s. and Japan to look forward to seeing and not just Japan movies of Godzilla
WOW, I wish that i could have been there and have one of the directors and or actors of the Godzilla films autograph their names on one of the toys that I bought too, WOW ! The animated series of the 98 movie is better.
great videos for people who are new comers the series but for us fans weve heared it all before.
For those of you who want to know, there's a Godzilla I-max film being made, called Godzilla 3-D to the Max. It's set for 2011.
Can't wait for the new film!!
I hear that some movies deliberately made him gray. in fact, I heard rumors that the 1954 Godzilla might be kind of brown.
Nice to see this on here. :)
Now Godzilla is coming back once again with an American king Ghidorah
What a time to be alive
I loved the 1998 movie when I was a kid (I fondly remember having a toy of it). I'm scared to rewatch it knowing its many flaws.
Legendary always has their work cut out for them, but they tend to deliver much of the time. Thank You J.D Lees. For the awesomness that is G-fest.

10 years later, Godzilla makes his return. Godzilla 2014
If the Comic-Con teaser was any indication they're definitely on the right track.
Godzilla will never die!
go-jira lol.......
at least hes shown in that japanese movie ALWAYS.... but im sure hell be back
ive definitely make it a goal to see every godzilla movie created
next year big G is back Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@mattiathekaiju "That's a lot of fish." is one of them.
lol 6:08ish, japanese woman says she cried during godzilla 1984.
i do to. in fact, when i was young, my dad, who knew nothing about godzilla, told me that they remade him into mechagodzilla so i wouldnt be so sad. :D
i know the kid in the gamera costume, he's the son of james baack, the guy from great lakes artists group.
godzilla rules he was and always will be the king of the monsters
AND GODZILLA THE JAPANESE MONSTER WILL NEVER EVER GO AWAY FOR A REALLY
REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY
REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY
LONGEST TIMES, AND MAKE MORE GODZILLA FLIMS FOREVER.
Hail Gojira!
@Anatriman i went there in chicago it was friggn awesome!
I heard they will make another Godzilla movie, with a new monster for him to beat and everything, and it will be in theaters. I will find out more about this as it continues.

It be interesting to see which popular American actors are Godzilla fans, outside of those we already know.
I just love Godzilla! And Godzilla 1998 is my absolute favourite!
Yes! I think the movie would have been a bigger hit if they had named it so. Like BO 20,000F, this movie takes place in America involving a dinosaur-like creature.
Final Wars had its good and bad moments my friend
Love how they treat the 90's film like a huge tribute when in fact Toho hated what Hollywood had done. Godzilla: Final Wars was a demonstration of how they really felt about that watered down iguana. GINO was more a remake of Beast from 20,000 Fathoms than Godzilla.
It's been a decade since Toho retired Godzilla..
@THEFLAPJACKMASTER Godzilla practically IS an irradiated igauna.
we're getting a reboot so techincally the series isn't ending
I'm starting to love Gareth Edwards. He PWNS Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich cause at least he respects the Godzilla franshise.
I know, that show was awesome.
@KeizerXilian If anything what would you compare his size to?
well for game is Kaiju Kombat and movie maybie
@helookslikefamousppl it moved to 2014. i guess it shows that legendary pictures is being cautious about not screwing this up. i say give them all the time they want as long as they stay true to the original.
my first Godzilla movie (like that women) was king kong vs Godzilla
is there a official trailer of the Big G for next year, 2014?
yea but i dont think it was possible, since Tristar got the rights from toho for a Godzilla film, not just another monster film.
The company that makes Gamera wanted to but Toho was like HELL NO! And in fact in one of the last movie there responds was to have the carcass of a giant turtle monster wash up on shore supposably eaten by godzilla.
KaijuGUTS I freaken loved Final Wars. It wasn't that bad compared to the 1998 Zilla.
cause he kicked zillas tiny AAAASSSSSSS :p
If anything, what would you compare his size to?
I heard at Comic Con about "Cloverfield" or the unnamed movie by J.J. Adams, he says that he's movie will be like and I quote "a Godzilla for America", isn't that rediculious?
for the legendary film, I think they should mix the 90's and the tokyo sos version mixed!
Since I have little faith in the Legendary Godzilla Film coming up, I was hoping that Toho would make an official movie in 2014, for Godzilla's 60th and to cover the American Remake - y'know like with Godzilla 98 and G2K.

Until in 2014, Godzilla made his return on the big screen.
1998 Godzilla film is a remake of "Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" to me.
what do you mean "should?" it was :D BAZING!
Next year THE KING OF THE MONSTER RETURN AND I WAITED FOR TEN YEARS FOR HIS RETURN TO THE BIG SCREEN!!!!!!!!!!!
@tkingdom5 It actually comes out May 16, 2014.
I think I just saw a poster for "Quest for Camelot".
Well, a huge prehistoric monster awakening from an atomic bomb testing, wrecking havoc on New York.... sounds familiar to me.
Yeah I know, but sometimes in those movies he's grey. It's all because of camera issues.
At 2:08 Quest For Camelot Poster
1:12 if he was a fan he should've not done it knowing the script
@wtfomgstudios Wrong. Zilla/ Gino/ American Godzilla= Irradiated Iguana.
Godzilla (Toho)= Irradiated Godzillasaurus. Check out Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah.
Hoppfuly godzilla would be starring in an anime series or movie.
Nope - not even the teaser from the last comic con was release on the net ... they just finished shooting the movie so I guess that there will be something in the next months.

TOHO WILL REALLY WILL MAKE MANY HUNDRED THOUNDONDS OF GODZILLA FLIM
MOVIES.
that the 1998 godzilla is called zilla
Hopefully Legendary won't make the mistake TriStar did. they forgot to add the godzilla series..It had the original godzilla fighting spirit.
I agree, the only issue was he had very few traits of what made Godzilla who he was! he didn't breath fire, stand upright, and was easily scared and killed by the army. I don't think it was a bad movie, it just may have had some more posetive feed if it was a remake of "Beast From 20,000 Fathoms" or something. zilla is that godzilla name????? i dont understand.
This doesn't mention the 1998 animated series.
I live in Britain, so the probability of going to G- Fest soon is around 2%.
To think I mised the G-fest I wish I had heard of it sooner
Wait that wasn't Godzilla That was Zilla but toho Included Zilla to be a Godzilla monster just to murder on screen
Hey! Where's the Final Wars footage! And by the way, Godzilla is coming back in 2012!!
zilal is that godzilal name
They forgot Godzilla 2014 movie and shin Godzilla movie 2016
I agree with the guy at 3:03, I would have preferred it to be called something else.(like maybe just ZILLA????)
how do you know?
Hey I have the Godzilla 2004 Movie
hes is from heroes, its hiro's father
Actually Toho is going to ever see it to make sure they do not mess it up. Also Godzilla is gonna attack Mexico.

THEY'LL MAKE GODZILLA'S REVENGE 2, GODZILLA'S REVENGE 3, TWO MOVIE FLIMS.
@500krg nope, only zilla has that backstory.
@aznricekracker Why do people always say that Godzilla's green? He's carcoal black. Get it right!
thumbs up for whos watching godzilla in 2012
